  1. You could always market small bottles of it in the Forum's Thieves Market section with a personalized label. You know, for folks like us who can't afford a trip to the tropics... but who would enjoy owning a replica sample of a period disease.
  2. Foxe & Dutch - If possible, we'd like to get back on an hourly wage. This salaried web search position isn't paying the bills. PoD - Awesome! Thanks for posting.
  3. We're inclined to agree as factory rolled toilet paper had yet to be invented.
  4. Another Dutch artifact from the same period. (Note the date at the base of columns.) This was a small relief carving from a door. Interestingly, the rolled stuff appears above on the right as well.
  5. From the album: Old Things

A Dutch relief carving dated 1715 depicting sail makers at work.
  6. Aye Silkie. We should pass this along to Stynky the next time he asks for a raise.
  7. One useful shortcut are the language links at wikipedia.com Example. Search word "Juste-au-corps" links to English wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Justacorps On the left column are handy links to foreign translation(s) with alternate descriptions and additional info of the item. The current ones include... Catalan Wikipedia (National language of Andorra... northern Spain/southern France)... http://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casaca German... http://de.wikipedia....iki/Justaucorps Norwegian... http://no.wikipedia....iki/Justaucorps Amusingly the link to the French wiki provides info on the alternate Justaucorps ... le "Léotard" http://fr.wikipedia....iki/Justaucorps Perhaps someone on the forum here with a working knowledge of French sarcasm can make some inquiries about this at Les Frères de la Côte??? (We don't. We'll just light the fuse here and run.) Reference... http://lesfreresdela...taucorps-xviiie
  8. From the album: Old Things

A Dutch plate from late 17th or early 18th century depicting a sail maker at work.
  9. An old Dutch Delft plate from the period showing work on a sail. Not much detail of the bench. The hunt continues.
  10. SPLASH! (Peglegstrick... you're on "double secret probation.") Man, I'm glad there's an edit option on here!
  11. Netflix has that too. (For those of you that haven't jumped ship, haha.)
  12. Cascabel - Rec'd in good order. Excellent stuff. Thanks!
  13. Thanks Lady & Capn "Ah, he, Jim... you're the spitting image of me when I was your age. Head full of pirates, hehe. But he'll find, same as I, that the sea be mostly hard work, and the bigger satisfaction a man gets is doing his duty." - Robert Newton/Long John Silver, Treasure Island (1950)
  14. I got busted watching the Charlie Brown link by the little people. The volume was low too. These creatures must have radar or somethin'.
  15. OK. Give us a couple weeks. Most of the little bastids we'd normally roll for lunch money are carrying plastic now. "Stand and deliver, yo."
  16. ::::Oh snap. Who would have ever guessed that parts for the once affordable Yugo would now be classified as collectables following all that 90's chaos in the Balkans?:::: Liam - What sort of time table are you looking at for this project? Is this immediate (3-6 weeks) or... longer (3-6 months)???
