  1. Just confirmed....Vagabond Armoury shall be there with lots of weapons for your purchasing ....bring your cash because the credit cards don't work here!!!
  2. brass was common for barrels at the time and they hold up exceedingly well ...since the level of compression doesn't build up to the level required for rifled barrels ..however in a doglock buss I only have them in steel barrels .... these are museum photos from the Glasgow Museum showing brass-barreled pistols from 1615
  3. Not to sound my own horn, but I do carry and have several pistols in stock - Sea Service, British, French, and Prussian Heavy Dragoons, Murdocks, Ketland brass barreled trade guns ...as well as blunderbuss's Steel-Barreled and Brass-Barreled and also some Steel-Barreled Dog-Locks all at comparable prices to the other dealers and I test fire each weapon that comes through my shop. I stand behind every gun I sell (better there than in front of them!) As always let me know what you're looking for and I'll see what I can do for you!
  4. Hear ye! Hear ye! Callenish Gunner and Mistress SaltyPots feel it's about tyme we announce the upcoming natal day of Master Hamish Lewis Callenish! The wee buccaneer is due to arrive in early to mid August. We have held off making prior announcements due to the medical and other issues surrounding our relationship. (What I'm doing siring a new family at my age is beyond me ) So William you'll need to expand our ranks at PIP by a wee one!!!
  5. First off, I'd like to extend our thanks to our hosts of Blackbeard's Crew; Ladies and Gentlemen you have always made me feel exceedingly welcome at your event, and this year was no exception. The assistance of Dutch and Pern and Grace was outstanding. Any minor difficulties were handled with speed and efficiency and our hats are off to you. We got the opportunity to meet so many of the pubbers at the event and we were honoured to be able to assist any and all we could with their needs during the event. And imagine our shock when while visiting Williamsburg on Thursday we had folks walk up to us and say "Aren't you Callenish and Salty from the Pyracy Pub?" ...most everyone stopped by the Armoury over the course of the weekend(one of the minor drawbacks of doing an event like this as a sutler you don't get to mingle as much as you'd like ) The heat was also taking it's toll on both of us...Sorry a pastey-faced white man from the north of Scotland was never intended to see that much sunlight at one chunk... and Salty had her own issues with the heat ...but that will appear in another post!
  6. I'll attempt to keep the bawdiest of comments under me breath ...would hate to offend just finished packing the trailer since I have to attend (gulp!!!) court on the morrow...What Pyrate wants to ever go before a judge? ...time to keelhaul the leech of an Ex ...and no sense in driving 300 miles northwest again to drive back the next day ... this year we'll be there early enough to be set up and attend the ball!
  7. May your fleet continue to increase with no sinkage!! congatulations lad!!! now can you mount a swivel gun on her bow????

  16. what is the next closest hotel/motel to the harbour?? we've got a mate who doesn't like to rough it .. .pm me if you would
  17. the event has to have the potential of making the gas money and fees back otherwise it has to be eaten by those sharing the trip ..... i live on a pretty fixed income beyond what i make in retail sales! so much above $5 would make me think twice.
  18. I'm all about the barter system ...did some great trading on our last outing at Ft. Frederick, Maryland and sharp pokey bits are always available for such dealings.
  19. always a good idea to have photo-ops whether it be of pub members or just event pics .....the more pictures i feel the greater the future interest it can create for these events ....as is said a picture is worth a thousand words Say "SAIL HO!!!"
  20. Would be nice to know what the cost of such items would be ....just a sugestion
  21. without said hole in the bottom could be construed as a violation of the federal statutes regarding explosive devices. ATF REGULATIONS For the sake of my personal liberty, and the fact I would like to enjoy my declining years with no bars around me, I think the inert ones would be fine. Since this type of explosive ordinance was not the most reliable to predict when and how it would explode and the fragmentation pattern was erratic at the best of times, it is best left in the history books and inert models for demonstration purposes only. ...i witnessed what the effects of grenades can do when unintentionally involved in a house fire many years ago it was not a pretty sight, for the occupants or the firefighters called to the scene. but of course that is just my opinion
  22. A Fyne looking sign you have there, lass
