Don't use florist foam, use insulation foam. Florist foam isn’t sturdy enough. After you carve and shape your island, paint it with wood glue and the sprinkle sand all over it. After that drys spray paint it flat black and then dry brush it. Then use flocking. Its easy and cheap. Terrain Tips Texturing and painting

I know, your right. I'm going to stick with it, I just need a new job, been working for this one for a year and nothin. Need to look to the horizon for bigger and better things. Boarder Patrol was just a thought.

I totally agree, we need to meet up. Maybe we can find a good half way point. -
There's a lot more to it than that. From that website I reference above: "One doesn't have to be a professional "model" to be eligible for a model release—anyone or anything that is the subject of a photograph is considered the "model" in this context. Similarly, you do not have to be a professional photographer to need or use one—anyone that use a photo of someone else under certain conditions may need a release to protect himself from being sued by the subject of the photo. And herein lies the controversy. What are those conditions? When do they apply? What do you do when the rights of free speech conflict with someone's right to privacy? Because of these complexities, this is probably the most misunderstood topic in the world of photography, which makes it ripe for misinformation running rampant. Whether it's verbal hearsay, or rumors that spread in Internet chat rooms, the mistake people make is trying to simplify into a few words a topic that cannot be simplified. Most legal cases that you hear about are too specific for one to draw broad conclusions about generalized behaviors." The paparazzi thing has at least something to do with public figures and attachment of the photos to a news story from what I read. If you're really interested in this, I highly recommend clicking that link above. The whole thing is very grey and pretty complex. I suspect you could even wind up with one ruling in one court and a different one in another, all depending on how they interpreted things. Oh, I know there is more to it than that. I'm an art director for an Ad/ Marketing agency. I generally don't deal with the legal logistics much, I only know what I know from classes that I have taken and from being in the industry. "Public Domain" is considered, random things and people in a public place. A model is anyone, paid or not, professional or not that knowingly posses for a picture. Now I know there are some differences from placing a person in an ad to actually selling the picture of that person. I know there are some public privacy decency laws, so you can’t go around taking pictures of girls skirts or anything like that.

Wow, bring on those mermaids , sans the merman. -
Well this comes up in my profession a lot. I’m a bit hazy on the specifics. Its something called public domain, were as you can take a picture of anyone in “public” and sell it, hence paparazzi, but if they are posing for it, they need to sign a model wavier release form or something.

I'm an Art Director. Thinkin about becoming a boarder patrol agent though. I like this job, cause it deals with art, but it lacks the excitement of my previous career.

Oh yeah, they are way better than those islands, I was saying by judging from the pictures, they seem to be a little small and bit oversized on the price side.
-
Kind of small in comparrison to the ships and pricey too. You can still make better ones. Island and Game Board

The bamboo is for aesthetic purpouses only. The pieces I have in mind ar pretty tall and hollow all the way through, the would go over the post kind of like a sleeve. Trust me I'm going to test it out. -

I was going to have a metal pin on the top of the dowel, I'm talkin a pretty big dowel to run the length of the bamboo, the pin would go through a rivit in the canvas, I was going to have other rivits to run rope through and into some period looking tent stakes. -

For the tent poles, I was going to use hallow bamboo with wooden dowls or staffs inside to make them strong. The sell the bamboo at cost plus world market for cheap and the dowls at home depot. I’m going to use canvas for the actual tent, I kind of want it to look ragged, like an old sail, with my sewing skills that shouldn’t be too hard. They sell cool looking Persian rugs at Big lots for cheap and pillows. Everything else on the sketch I own. I did find some small wooden casks on e-bay for cheap as well. -

* Slowly rising from his hammock, Petee sits up and swings his legs over to one side. He pulls on his boots and then digs through his sea chest. He pulls out his bible and quietly reads a passage and places it back in the chest and retrieves his flask. Uncorking the top he takes a long belt, when finished he stashes it in his boot. Rubbing his face he stands and stretches. He then pulls on his frock coat and puts on his tri-corn, stashes his hammock and makes his way on deck. He walks to the fore castle and pulls out his spy glass, walking from starboard to larboard, he stares out over the bay. *
