It's funny. As the fog of too much Rum on Friday night fades I've started remembering things. The most interesting is me dancing around with a sword in one hand and my mermaid tail in another. I'm lucky I didn't run myself or someone else through!!!! If anyone wants to go to the next Pirates of the Chesapeake you can go here for more information on tickets, times, and the date (I'm pretty sure it's Friday, August 18th): http://nautigoosesaloon.com/EVENTS.htm I haven't decided for sure if I'm going to the next feast in Mid-August yet. Do you guys think I should do the mermaid costume agian if I do? I sure did love that costume. You can see all 33 of my pictures from last Friday night here: http://roguemermaid.shutterfly.com/action/...e21b33f11ed0544 And here's a sample of some of my favorite pictures:

Hee hee, yeah.. Trying to dance around in a mermaid costume is a bad idea...especially after after a few too many Rum and Cokes. My tailbone still hurts from the fall I took! I definatly got my moneys worth in alcohol though. The Brigands were fantastic! They brought cannon and there were lots of pirates about. A very good time. I have pictures to share, I just need to get them uploaded. I'll post a link tomorrow or Wednesday

Here's my costume from the Pirates of the Chesapeake Feast last Friday night. I finally got to be a mermaid and I couldn't have happier (or drunker...)

YES!!! Yes it does hate OS 9.21! At work my computer is a Mac that runs on OS 9 and everything is screwy. I can only see page one of my friends list, I can't message certain people because it puts graphics over their "send message" key, I can't even log into my account unless I go to "sign up" and then click on "returning user log in". At home we have a PC and things are much better. We really need to upgrade at work. OS 9 is being shut out of everything these days.

Sitting at my desk at work...dressed like a mermaid!

That was my theory too

I just switched to Verizon last Tuesday and had a major phone upgrade. I have this cool illustration of the kraken as my wallpaper now. Then I tried to get a voice clip of Capt. Jack saying "Stop blowing holes in my ship!" as my text message alert. Alas, the bedamned thing wouldn't load. Oh well.

Maybe his lost love is Auntie Grizelda? Or Marsha Brady....

Wow, I was thinking that the film was reminisant of Empire Strikes Back myself...now that you've spelled it out by character I really see it. I don't think Elizabeth is in love with Jack, I think it is the freedom that he represents that she is drawn to. She said, "I was so ready to be married". I'm not sure I believe her.

POTC2 - Wait Until After The Credits!!!
Rogue Mermaid replied to Rogue Mermaid's topic in Pyrate Pop
Thanks Rumba, I didn't take any offense though Really I should give credit to the teenager in front of me in the theater. I looked around at my group of friends during the credits and said, "Do you think there is anything hidden at the end?". Luckly, this guy told us to hang around! -
There is a little lightning fast bit at the very end of the movie after the credits. It's not terribly important to the story if you don't want to wait it out, but it's good for a chuckle.

I also might skirt the line of SPOILERS!!! I saw the midnight showing. Loved the movie, though I have to say there wasn't as much focus on the story as I would have liked. A little more about Davy Jones's back story would have been nice...maybe some flashbacks to his past would have made his character a bit more rounded. I think my $9.00 was well spent though (even though I'm sleep walking through work today). Ending on a cliff hanger was just evil It's funny, the first person I thought of at the end of the movie was Lady B.

Congratulations to both of you!!!!! Definatly a fine way to tie the knot

I WANNA GO!!!! I'm sorry John. I just can't seem to catch any of your events. I'll be in Gettysburg this weekend for a trip we've had planned since February.

I worked at a party store during college and I handled alot of orders for balloons. You would be amazed at the number of people who didn't know that balloons don't float without helium. I actually had someone return a handful of uninflated balloons and very irately tell me that they didn't float when he blew them up with his mouth. I also had the people who would buy the mylar balloons (the shiney metalic ones) in the winter, take them out to the car and then return them a minute later irate because, "This balloon has a hole in it!". Then they were amazed when I pointed out that the balloon was fully inflated. The balloons were shrinking in the cold air since cold makes the helium compress and reinflating in the heat of the store when the air reexpanded.

Hello to you as well! Conowingo is a short ride from me! I've had a friend or two hail from that area. Am I ever looking forward to late summer crab season! Mmmmmmm. Nothing is better than a pile of crabs and some cold beer. My dad's a recreational crabber but he hasn't had much luck yet. He usually starts having luck in August and is more than happy to share the "wealth".

I wish. Alas there is docking off of the deck so we'd probley take out a few powerboats. I fully intend to hang out with the regular bar patrons after the feast ends at 10pm. It'll make it all the more fun

I will definatly be there. I already have my reservations in with a group of friends. New costume construction should start soon...

We have Verizon DSL at work and Comcast Cable at home. The Comcast Cable is a zillion times faster at home. However, at work we also have anywhere from 3 to 8 people using Version on the network at the same time. I have been in the office alone though, and while the DSL performed faster than it did with a full office - it was still slower than the Comcast connection at home. Hope that helps!!!

I'm going to the 11:59pm showing on the 7th, and yes I have to work the next day

I pity the fool who messes with Phil!

I was doing that too... But then I realized that one of my past pictures was replaced by a big black box with the word "Idiot" in it. I didn't think it was a big deal, but guess it was eatting away someone's bandwidth. My bad.
