  1. thanks for the info. Now to go find some cloth and get the patterns and see what kind of mess I can make
  2. Aye, a waistcoat then. I get my terms a bit mixed from time to time *lol* As an aside, how hard would it be to take one of your patterns and make a waistcoat, by hand, as a beginner? How about some of the other patterns? Like the frock coat?
  3. I'll be there on saturday with my lady friend and a probably a bunch of other trouble makers... er... friends
  4. the funny thing is that maryland doesn't have a "pirate" weekend this season... they're calling it "adventure" weekend. though it is still more pirate than anything else...
  5. I voted for black, since it's my preferred color. However, if I were to put something together, or buy, I might go for red or a dark red also. Would a black frock coat and red short coat be inappropriate? Black and reds work well on me.
  6. Here's one that I've been trying to learn so I can particpate better at the shanties around Maryland. Boozing Now what are the joys of a single young man? Why, boozing, bloody well boozing And what is he doing whenever he can? Why, boozing, bloody well boozing You may think I’m wrong or you may think I’m right I’m not going to argue, I know you can fight But what do you think we are doing tonight? Why, boozing, bloody well boozing Boozing, boozing, just you and I Boozing, boozing, when we are dry Some do it openly, some on the sly And we all are bloody well boozing Oh what are the joys of a poor married man?… And what is he doing whenever he can?… He comes home at night and he gives his wife all He goes out a-shopping, makes many a call But what brings him home, hanging on to the wall?… And what do the moral majority run down? And what are they banning in every town? They stand on street corners, they rave and they shout They shout about things they know nothing about But what are they doing when the lights are turned out?
  7. thankfully I use firefox at home and now that I see folks have problems with IE... I'll not open the site with that program. So far, I haven't had any problems. Hopefully, the folks maintaining the board will find the bug and kill it.
  8. I got the bugger of an email too... thankfully, when I opened it, I saw that it was just a link to and .exe file. I promptly deleted it. this was the FROM statement : "Pyracy Pub - the Pirate Forum" <bloodybuckets@pyracy.com>
  9. They're a pretty good show. keep me laughing for the most part. they show at MDRF for a few shows every season. I get a kick out of there pirate skit.
  10. In the Maryland area there is a group called The Ships Company that does Shanty nights three times a month. Check out there site for info, anyway, they put together a nifty song book and usually offer a copy for $5. Which reminds me, I need to get me their newest one. Not sure that helps any, but, maybe you could contact 'em and see if they could send ya a copy.
  11. okay, the statue is just freakin' cool! I want one!
  12. I used to like going to PARF opening weekend and the second weekend, especially since it was a Pirate weekend. Now, I'll probably only just go the one weekend. That and PARF is getting to be expensive to go to.
  13. aye, it was a great time! QueenRogue, you looked fantastic! I know I met several others, besides the usual folks I know, but I haven't a clue who else I met now. I got to go look through some of the pictures and see if I remember anyone and if anyone has photographic evidence that I was there
  14. why do I see this as being nothing more than a pirate themed "Maxim" magazine? I think I'll probably wait until I see a real magazine on the newstand racks before I do anything.
  15. Me ships name is The Roving Eye
  16. Aye! I likes this idea. I'll be posting it this thread out to me crew so they can follow along!

  18. Slops, were they a cover for pants or just a loose baggy pants?
  19. Does anyone know how to measure a foot for the shoes? I mean I could go to a shoe store and just use the little metal thing... but is there a way with a tape measure? Just curious mostly
  20. Oh yeah, I'll be there every weekend... unless that nasty four letter word that starts with a "w" get's in the way... and then I'm boing to get grumpy.
  21. Blenderwench, you loiter at the white hart? no way, who'd have thunk that?
  22. barring any unforseen issues at the nasty four letter word starting with a W... I'll be there on saturday with parts of my crew and several others... I'll have the pin on one of my bags. Come say hi if you spot me...
  23. I'll probably be there and hopefully dragging along some of my crew. Barbette, I'll probably be at celtic weekend too. I have to see what the job situation is like then.
