  1. It was REALLY wierd here too. All Friday night it was calm. No sound. No wind. Nothing. It was literally a dead calm all night long. I kept the kids up most of the night, so we all basically slept thru the storm. At one point I know at least 41,000 people were without power on Saturday night. And today, there are still ALOT of people without power. Mine came back on Saturday evening. Cable's been out since then and just came back on today. About 1/3 of all Time Warners customers in this area were without cable until today. Seems they had to replace a 3 mile stretch of main line that went down, along with the main amps for the city. We had ALOT of trees that went down, were uprooted. Minor flooding. Minor structure damages like siding, shingles, a few lost windows. There didn't seem to be much rain with this one, but when it came off shore here (the eye passed right over us), the wind was directly out of the south. Figures that once it passed over us, it started to fall apart about 40 miles north of here... One thing I noticed after the storm went thru was how the air smelled. It was so clean. Smelled like sea water and pine.
  2. Charlie may only be a taste of what is in store. Take a look at this. Three in a row off of Africa. One of which is already a tropical storm, and one other is a tropical depression. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/EA...EATL/IR4/20.jpg (Not sure how long that image will be available)
  3. I found the poster at http://www.adangio.com/portfolio.php They actually have two of them. One is "The Legend of Devil's Throat" and the other is "Treasures of the Lost Abyss". I didn't figure they were accurate. Rumor mills are flyin though! No hint about Twig? *pout* But then again, you did say all of Johnny's and Barbossa's crews are coming back! Yippie!
  4. Looks like were gonna get a hit of Charlie. NC coast is now under a hurricane warning. Projections show the eye is gonna pass about 10 miles from here. Time to REALLY batten down the hatches!
  5. I WANNA KNOW WHAT YOUR NOT TELLING! I know, you can't say. Your job is much more important! I'm just hoping that since they are filming both back to back, they are just as good as the first. I'll just be happy when they say that Geoffrey has signed on the dotted line. And I'm hoping they will be bringing Michael Berry Jr.'s character, Twig back! I've seen a poster for POTC2, not sure if its true. It said "The Pearl is back, and so is Jack" POTC2, The Legend of Devil's Throat.
  6. Here on the NC coast, we just went under a tropical storm watch. Last night we had really, really bad thunderstorms, and a tornado hit nearby at 4am in the morning. Three people were killed, including an 18-month old child. And more were injured. Several more are missing. Twenty homes were destroyed. The Governor is coming down today. I'm guessing those storms were from the reminants of Bonnie. Were also under a flood watch. And now for more good news for those of us on the East Coast. In addition to Bonnie coming thru, and now Charlie, there's tropical depression #4 in the Atlantic now. It's way out, just off the coast of Africa. That gives it plenty of time to do something. Yippie skippie. Hurricane season is here, and it seems to be here with a vengeance.
  7. No, although I'd rather be up off the Cape. I'm stuck at the second hurricane magnet of the world. Beginning of the Cape Fear River.
  8. Been here on the NC Coast for a second year in a row. Season already started for us last month! And I live about 15 minutes from the beach and about 5 minutes from the ICW. I can't understand those water prices in Florida! Last year you could buy 6 gals of water for $1.50 at Food Lion two days before the storm hit. But you couldn't find a battery anywhere in town. It was even on the news about the lack of batteries. Oh, by the way. This is my first post. :)
