  1. Honestly, it was amazing how everyone took the tornado at the Ball. The power was out, there was no food, but there was music, dancing, and singing. Everyone in garb socializing by candlelight with The Brigands providing ambiance was amazing. It seemed reminiscent of the old tavern scene wood block prints. If anything alot more like what a pirate party in my mind.

  2. I came across the card game munchkin a little while ago and tried out the pirate version Munchkin Booty. I found it a pretty good time to be had. I so far have gotten the two expansions to it to liven it up further. I was wondering if anyone else has played it and what they thought. I thought to bring it up here because its a pretty fun casual game and its got a pirate flavor.

A link to find the game for those that are interested.

  3. Yer plenty welcome here lass.

I will be one of the ones to say there are those of us who are serious and those of us who are fanboys. But most of us I believe would be more of a blend of both. When time calls for it, I am historically accurate. But most of the time I am a historically accurate-ish pirate. Looking into historical examples help flavor my act.

  4. I have been putting aside money for two different things at the moment. One is sailing lessons. The other is the purchase of a cannon. I believe that with the resource of the pub I can get some good info on purchasing. I am in the field for a swivel gun. I have been looking around and found a few bronze barrels that look good and some steel barrels. The bronze barrels have no liners and the steel ones need boring. I can do neither of these things and would like to know how pertinant a barrel lining is or if I could get assistance in finishing a steel one.

  5. Depending on how research goes... I might have time for this. But as it stands I do not know if I will have the summer off. I would love to go as this is near my hometown. If I have my summer off I will be there.

  6. That's fine except several folks above (particularly Iron John) have cited examples of rope in use being called 'rope'. ;) (Besides, that book is over 125 years past GAoP.)

I wasn't saying that it is called something different. Rope is rope. In different uses there are different connentations. Meaning when it is used as line or sheet it has a purpose. It can still be refered to as rope. I wasn't disagreeing. I was agreeing but I should have read how I wrote it.

  7. The receipe is from "Punch" by David Wondrich and is our kind of writer. He's pulled from as many period resources as possible....

Thank ye Mister Roberts! We'll investigate same.
