  1. I'm a lover of famous quotes, too!

"Who the hell took the cork off my lunch?!" ~ W. C. Fields

Go and never darken my towels again! - Groucho Marx

    You just reminded me Jack!

Picture Groucho Marx holding a beautiful woman. . .

She says: "Hold me, Hold me. . "

Groucho Marx : I am holding you.

    She says: " Closer, Closer."

Groucho Marx :" If I hold you any closer I'll be in back of you!"

  2. How do feel? Well. . .a mixture really nervous concern for my Mom who will be going into surgery soon. Glad, that my Grandma is down from Ohio to look after me. Sad, because God seems to be closing a door to something I really liked doing (Pirate Fest, If you want more info PM pm me). Exspecting, for when one door closes another one opens. Excited, I am turing the big "3" "0" (Hey I am a big kid at heart!)

  3. UPDATE:

I had to not continue with the show my Mom goes in for a total hip replacement Oct 24 (Yes on my birthday) and my friend that takes me out has asma and was getting worse everytime we went to rehrehersals. So I will not be part of cast, I will still go to fest however. Don't be too sad for me I am really happy the way it all worked out. Besides it means I can work on my orginal plan of bringing the mermaid back to life, for next year. I have a wonderful idea I just need to find some pirates. If any one is interested and you live in Central FL E-mail me.

  4. I love the colours in this dress and the way they shade from turquoise, to blue to navy to violet -- that would be a cool effect for a mermaid tail!

For a top, I envision a quilted bodice in pale turquoise, embroidered with silver thread and studded with seed-pearls.

    Cheers, Hester

    That is so beautiful!!

  5. A long time ago, my boss went to a party as a mermaid and Jack O'Neil (of wet suit fane was her date... he was dressed as Posidian).... but she made the tail part of the costume where she couldn't walk in it (hey mermaids can't really walk, now can they...)

So for the entire night, she got "passed around".... everyone played with the idea of it.......

I've seen the mermaids that can walk in kinda hobble skirt kinda tails.... but dang.... I still like the concept of my bosse's mermaid......

I can't walk so either way I need another wway to get around, the tail I had last time was too confining and hard to use in the privy. This year there will be no mermaid for me, but I definately plan to do it next year. I have a great plan. I just need a couple of strong sailors to go with me.

  6. My Dearest Kendra,

If you were to go as a high class courtesan, or perhaps a Lady who likes to 'dabble' for a coin or two.  What better way to 'suprises' your audience...or victims  :D

If you give 'away' the element of surprise...(who would expect a woman of position/or fame to be the best cut-throat gambler in towne?!) it doesn't leave much for 'playing' your part.  And if you go with 'the unexpected role', this would give your character a large amount of 'play'.

Speaking as one myself, nothing pleases me more than to see the expression upon a man's face and leave him 'spent' in more ways than one!

Name: Fox McShane (Sorry Mad Jack the other did not roll of my tounge the same way, besides it has part of my name in it)

She was named after her father Well known for his gambling. She knows little of gaming and relies on "distration" translation I AM WEARING A SKIRT and being pretty. The last time I was part of cast "Maevous wore a skirt and pants and I felt like such a boy. NO MORE! I AM WOMAN!

Ok I'll get off the box now. Fox is basicly a pick pocket her hand eye cornation isn't great (neither is mine btw) since her accident at sea.

  7. My humble appologies miss. It was my confusion, and I agree fully with what you say. No insult intended I assure you.

:D I have 30 years (almost 30) of sitting on my. . .well lets just say it takes alot to get me insulted no harm done, and if something I said offended you I applogize as well. The written word can and dose get taken out of context at times.

  8. Forgive my intrusion... please allow me the ramblings of a confused Pyrate in his rum.

My dear Lady, it has been my experience in life that we spend alot of time searching for answers all over and around the universe, and always come up "dry". Look inside yourself, and I'll wager you will find what you seek.

My best to you and"break a leg"! Bo

That is so true, however I am not looking for answers when I come here with a question. Rather I come to ask opinons, I already had an idea of what I would like and just wanted to hear other ideasand so now armed with this information, I have seen things in a different light it is always good to get a different view of the same picture, and for that I thank you all!

  9. I am pleased to annouce I got a part with the Florida Pirate Fest! Now I need some help with the character I am playing, unfortuantly it is not the mermaid (Oh well Maybe next year!) I will be playing a gambler. Here is my problem What would a female gambler dress like during the golden age of pyracy? I think I may have a name "Fox McShane" That may not be so great but for right now it works

  10. Hi, I will be at my parents next week, I am getting a roll in shower yay, no more pain in my hips! I . I will be away from my computer during this time. So I will not be able to check my mail very often if you need to reach me you can email my Mom @ Sandim96@aol.com PLEASE PUT MY NAME IN THE SUBJECT LINE otherwise it will be deleted!

    Take Care

  11. so many choices and only one Kendra!

And some are thinking "Thank God for that!"

I am definately thinking the non fish part will look like a pirate. She is a "Pirates Dream!"

That's the theme I am going with, however she is not just another pretty face.

No she is the Captain's scout and salvager. Basicly she is being held captive by pirates!

  12. For the top...Mayhaps a corset or bodice top made of the same material as your fins?

Deeper colors would be very flattering with your dark hair. I like Siren's idea for the top, but I would suggest using a different color from your fins...you could say you aquired it from an unfortunate she-sailor/pirate/boat passenger.

I love my seashell bra, but I felt half naked in it! Probley not great for a family show.

Yes!! I have lots of pirate shirts includin the one in the "IN YOUR GARB" section.

    I LOVE IT!

BTW  *whispers* I too have the sea shell bra NEVER HAD THE BODY OR THE COURAGE!

A very wise person once told me with some articals of clothing it is not a right it is a privilage!
