  1. Interested to know how you put the twist in the sheath.
  2. Another thought that follows the phrase necesatie is the mother of invention makes one wonder about another common but not so documented weapon. The nail plank. A small piece of broken plank that is unsalable in repairing the ship but perfect for hammering spikes or ships nails in and use it as a nasty blugening device on or off shore. I know pirates did not take anything on land that was considered part of the ship but do you think the same rules applied for disgaurded or beyond repair items?
  3. My biggest problem portraying Blackbeard has always been more of a baldric issue than a garb one. By the time I put the six guns in their holsters you can barely see what I'm wearing for a waistcoat anyway so I try to concentrate more on my coat when it comes to historical accuracy. When I'm doing Capt Scury I go with a more "relaxed" r "Hollywood" style of outfit. I wouldn't mind finding a patern closer to 1718 than the one I have now for a coat. Any suggestions or specific things I should concentrate on when it comes to a jacket from 1706 to 1718?
  4. I've got close to $200 in jewelry and replica coins to trade
  5. I have a show coming up the second week of May and I am in desperate need of a new coat. With the recent tornado disaster that struck in my end of town any extra cash I had was spent on hotel rooms since we didn't have power for four days and restocking the fridge from all the food I had to throw out. I have a good supply of jewelry and pirate nick knacks left over from my Greenville show and wanted to know if anyone would be willing to trade dollar value for a new coat. Not looking for anything too fancy, just a period correct coat I can use for my BlackbeArd and Capt Scurvy shows (1706 to 1718 style). Doesn't have to be lined and working pockets are not neccesary. Let me know if anyone can help in the short time I have left
  6. Answers to remarks or questions when I'm playing Capt Scurvy "Are you drunk again?" "Using the term again would imply that at some point I was sober." "Do you have the time?" Drops to the ground laying flat on my back. Looks up at the sun then down toward my waist "I'd say about 1:30 give or take an inch." "I thought all Pirates had Parrots" "And I thought just because it has wings it would taste like chicken. Guess were both wrong."
  7. I worked as Blackbeard during that exhibit and spent a lot of time telling people the story associated with the "skull". A great story but I strongly doubt that it is the legendary punch bowl skull.
  8. Having trouble posting pics here but send me your email and I can do it that way
  9. I have all the canvas I need to make a period style vendor booth but I am unsure about construction. I want something that will work for areas where I can use ropes and stakes but also be able to set it up at events where I'm on concrete. I also still need to finish making a tent for myself and my son (that's right, our own little autistic powder monkey is finally going to make an appearance or two) so was toying with the idea of making something multipurpose. Does anyone have any plans or patterns for a project like this (budget is small to almost non existent at tbe moment) or have a link they can share with the info? Hoping to have it done before my show the second week in April. Thanks in advance for tbe help
  10. There's no update for it in the app store so I'm guessing the latest one.
  11. I've always enjoyed watching this when it's on. First thing I've seen that portrays the mental warfare side of Blackbeard that I feel made him the prince Machiavelli of warfare at sea.
  12. Would be honored to make a cameo if ye need me. I'll send you a msg with my characters details.
  13. Having trouble viewing the items. Can you email me a pic of the size 46 waistcoat if you still have it? Csuttle3@gmail.com
  14. Okay, so I posted pics of the replica coins I've been making before but they were only one sided. Still highly detailed and a great way to fill a treasure chest without breaking the bank. After numerous tries (and numerous failures) I am proud to say I know have double sided replica coins in antique gold and silver. These coins are beautifully done and each one is hand painted and look just like the pewter cast ones but since it's oven fired clay I can sell them for a much lower price. Available in packs of 4, 10, 25, 75, and 100. Send me a message for prices. Thanks.
  15. I've had an app called IP communities for a while now to access the pub from my iPhone. Only issue is I can't post pics with it. There's a camera icon on the bottom tool bar but it never activates. Is there another app I could download that would have more options than this one?
  16. Thanks for the link. I'm not too concerned about the tent set up. If I can make it period great. If not, I know I won't be the only one.
  17. Thanks I'll check them out. Have a feeling though with my budget the way it is I'm going to end up having to make one. Good thing I have a lot of canvas on hand
  18. That's great. Gives me some idea of what to make. Thanks for the link.
  19. I have a booth at an event coming up but I've never had to set up a "period" style vendor booth before. I have a basic white pop up canopy and plenty of decorations for the tables and lots of props but need something besides the canopy for this one. Anyone know of a website that sells or rents more period style tent set ups for a vendor booth?
  20. Having a sale on the black and gold coins this month $50 for 100 coins. Send me a msg if interested.
