Just looked at the dates, and I am a tad bit nervous, as I am already confirmed for MegaCon in Orlando February 27 - March 1st. I've been going to that con every year since 1994, and at this point, there are several people flying from the UK and Ireland who are expecting me (and my presence was requested by some of those folks at the Flogging Molly concert in Orlando on March 5 and I am trying to see if I can swing that. oi! I am not sure requesting a full week off from work within my first 90 days is so very wise...)
Here's to hoping that 2009 has this moved back a bit....*crosses fingers*

EXCELLENT! Hopefully I will have a tent of me own by then.
Now, who wants to teach me how to use the cutlass I bought from Callenish??
If we wind up crossing paths in St. Augustine in March, bug me about sword play... I've been working with wife and the other couple (Nick and Ashley) on the same methods used by the Archangel Crewe, which I hear are fairly compatable with what many of the other crewes are using....
Oh goodie! Something else to bug you about! I did tell Kate that you guys were likely to be stuck with me. hehe Now we just need to get rid of that pesky "if" in the beginning of your statement, and all will be well with the world!

You my dear are without a doubt stunning!!!
and if I may be so bold.. there isn't a "Doctor" that would deserve you!!
You are far too kind! And as for this Steam-Alternative-FF-Serene-Verse thingie-ma-bob......can I just say "SQUEEEE!".
Which translates roughly into "My, I think I have some interest in perhaps participating in this event, and shall endeaver, with some excitement, into seeing if I can possibly attend".

So, if you want to be listed among the Mercury crew, just say so.
So!
(That was damned easy)
(how firm is the "nice" rule? I thought pirates were supposed to play dirty!)
Told ye it was easy. And we are only required to play nice with other pyrates (they have guns ye know); anyone else is fair game!

My injuries did not require an doctors visits, but I did take a picture of the gnarly back and blue my foot received when a certain cannon was rolled over it. heh And wearing heels today back at the office has been a less than delightful experience, alas. All the same, I would go back in a heartbeat and have another cannon rolled over my other toe if it meant having the much fun again!

You should hold the last series of photos for ransom. I am very curious to see some of them... (Mary loaned me her camera carte blanche on the night Stynky tried to drown us all in mead. There's something about switching hats on there...)
Oh my stars and garters....the mead....the hat merry-go-round...THE MEAD! ("No, really, it's ALREADY FULL, STYNKY!!") Although, I do believe there has already been a photo put up in a certain blonde's photo bucket of Madd d'Dogge in a lovely bonnet...
("I swear by my pretty floral bonnet...I will end you")
Mission, thank you again for this wonderufl account. You are a prince among pyrates, and an extremely cool and interesting guy to hang out with!

Here's me:

I tried to add a few of you, but some of you have your pages set to only accept requests from people who know your last names. Do Pirates have last names?!

FANTASTIC pics Kate! I will try to get mine up ASAP.

The rum in me flask was Ron Atlantico Private Cask. Alas, I could only find one bottle before PiP, but I shall try to gather up more'n one before next time so people can have more'n a sip! I tried to make it last through Friday and Saturday, but by Saturday eve I just left the bottle on the table and it wasn't long before it was long gone, ALAS & ALACK.

I just know I am not going to remember everyone - especially since I really want to thank everyone and I am terribly bad with names - and most of you have several different aliases! That aside...
Callenish and Salty - You guys were utterly fantastic, not only for giving me a place to stay, but also loaning me various bits of this and that, slicing off a hunk of ham and sliding me a cider on more than one occasion, for answering various and sundry questions, and just being all around awesome.
Kate and Mickey - You guys were too delightful for words, for being patient and funny and informative and so darned welcoming that I believe you just may be stuck with me. And thank you for offering to help me out with the PC side of this new hobby - I am sure I will be in touch. Hanging out with you guys was one of the best things of the event for me - next to shooting Maeve!
The FIRST All Girl Cannon Crew! Kate, Grace, Rusty - I had a blast (Wah-wah, terrible pun intended)! Thanks for including me, for it truly was an honor. And thank you for the drills, the education, the commraderie, and yes, even the stinky water. Ok, I lied, not for the stinky water at all, but if I had to endure the initiation, I am glad to have done so with such foine up-standing young lasses such as yerselves!
Sealkie - Damnation, if the Hide wasn't just ten pounds of fun in a 2 pound bag, I don't know from fun. And not only was it cool to hang out in at night, with rhum and stories and music and such, but you also made sure tehre were always snacks on the tables, water-ade at the ready and enough shade to make it welcoming any time of the day as well.
To everyone else - and I do mean everyone - thank you for being the intelligent, funny, passionate and engaging people you are! You are all amazing people and I am so grateful to have met you. I am sure I will be seeing more of you all in 2009, at the very least at the next PiP and probably before as several people have told me I simply HAVE to come to this or that event.

I've no crew, but I am planning on attending and camping beachside again.

A fender bender? I didn't hear about that, Kate! I am glad everyone is ok.
I ended up extending my stay in Key West by a day, which was no big deal since I am not scheduled to close out my files until tomorrow and thus had the time to spare. Mr. Mission needed a ride to Miami to catch his flight - and so many people helped me out and answered my inane questions and gave me a tent to crawl into and loaned me pieces of clothing and taught me to fire a cannon and totally made me feel welcomed, that I wanted to help out too!
But, I have now arrived home, safe, sound and in one piece no less!
I will try to get to photos in the next few days - though I warn you that photography is NOT my forte at all - but I will likely write more then. For now - brain tired.
-
The next 3 days cannot go fast enough! I started packing, despite the fact that I can't actually leave until Thursday evening!
-
I would be more excited if I were not facing a MOUNTAIN of schoolwork that needs to be completed by Thursday. But, You better believe that come thursday, at 4:30 pm, I will b leaving my school FOR THE LAST TIME and singing the whole while I drive to Key West!
-
Got me packet! And I hafta' admit, after the next couple o' weeks of school, wot with finishing up me research and writin' 50million umpteen papers, I am like t'be MORE'N ready for some drinkin', lads!
(In fact, I have a nearly full bottle of Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey and some of that foine Ron Atlantico Private Cask just ready to go. If I don't dirnk it all beofre then....)

*begins to ponder how well she could swim in corsetry....
I wouldn't recommend it... yer skirts will be enough of a challenge, and just think, ye drown and Maddogge will have to jump in and save ye and give ye mouth to mouth... and I mean just the thought of Maddogge...giving... ack... gag
Ha! But I've got breeches from Jas. Townsend & Son!

Are you one of Doctor Who's companions?
Nice ensemble.

So...am I the only one who takes their cues for everyday attire from different (namely victorian) eras? This is me, today, at work.

Ahoy all!
The prizes for this year's National Walk the Plank Championship are being bottled up now! They are limited edition wine bottles, that are only being made for the 3rd, 2nd and 1st places. The higher you rank, the more wine you win.
Where else do you get trophies you can drink? Then you can keep the bottle as your claim to winning!
Diosa
The winnings are drinkable?

For someone reason, everyone who goes on the ride WITH me is rather tickled with the "We wants the redhead!" part.
Personally, I'm fond of the battle between the ship and the fort m'self

Grocery shopping with M.A.d'Dogge... I'll bet that'll be an experience.
Oh it is!! But ye have to fight with him to see who gets to ride on the cart...
Someone must document this excursion photographically.

Did someone mention punk?
That was 2005, what I looked like near every day. Though I believe the pink dreads were braided in for valentine's day.
