I picked this up while I was shopping a few months ago, but never found a place to put it on something. It's yer lucky day, cause I'm getting rid of it! It's a small patch about an inch and a quarter long maybe longer. I added it to my website for viewing. I only have one, and paid 3.50 for it, but made it 4.25 to include .75 cents for shipping. Take a look, and if ya like it take it home! Isabella Silver and Black Scull and Crossbones Patch

For sale! It is Hand sewn by Rachel at the Boson's Mate. Really a fantastic job with all the correct period details. If you just need a shirt to go to a fest.... this aint the one. If you are ready to be "at the next level" with your authenticity, this would fit the bill. Made from high quality linen It a freakin huge size though. The style is drop shouldered but I would guess that this would be at least a size 50 shirt with a 19-20 inch neck. Rachel usually charges $150 for a shirt like this... but if you can pay pal me $100 and its yours

Well I swore I'd never wear a sword, but on Friday while visiting a friend, we traversed the Tyler Mall in Riverside, and came across one I had to have. I swear it 'called' to me. Found it at the Tinderbox store. It's a bit heavy, certainly not for fighting, as the tang doesn't go into the handle very far, nor does it have an 'edge'(geez if it did, I'd be the first one to get hurt with it!). I think the only thing it could fight against would be small wooden toothpicks! LOL! It's strictly for looks (I don't do fighting anyway), but I saw it and just fell in love with it. Bit pricey, well over a hundred bucks, it's made in Spain. I love the hilt and the scabbard, but t…

Well here's the finished product of using the Capt. coat pattern. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to buy black lining (hey you try and live on $700.00 a month on Government disability!), but I had some expensive linen lining I found at the Thrift store, so I used that. I had to use elastic in the waist of the breeches, because the outfit not only has to fit me, but my companion too, as we both have parts in the skit PRP does (not at the same time!). My concern is that the coat came out looking like an oversized well...uh coat. With frock coat patterns there's somewhat of a body form fit. Did anyone else have a problem with this? (Geez with this new digital camera, …

My garb treads a fine line between Elizabethan Rogue and early Pyrate, since my home fair is Elizabethan. Basically I just change from flat cap to cavalier hat to change the look. I'd like to add a sword... one that could fit the late 16th century as well as through the 17th. Were swept hilt rapiers around in Elizabethan times, and would a self-respecting pirate be seen carrying one? Or any other suggestions? TIA.

Hello all. I've been running into a problem on a 1680s waistcoat I'm working on, but I've noticed the problem on earlier clothing too and wanted to know if any of you had a better solution. This 1680s waistcoat has buttonholes every inch all the way down the front edge. That's like 5 million buttonholes. Anyway, as I'm making the buttonholes, I'm noticing that the left side of the waistcoat is getting shorter. I realize that this is because of "take up" caused by making buttonholes. I've noticed it before. Thinner fabrics tend to take up more than thicker fabrics. And this waistcoat is silk outer and lining, interlined with linen. My current solution is to cut th…

ARTICLE 6: That Man that shall snap his Arms, or smoak Tobacco in the Hold, without cap to his Pipe, or carry a candle lighted without lanthorn, shall receive Moses's Law (that is 40 Stripes lacking one) on the bare Back. Now I don't want to be receivin' Moses' Law or nuthin, so I best be gettin me a pipe with a cap or sumthin'. I've seen them lovely clay Tavern Pipes, but they're not practical for life at sea. What kind of a capped pipe might a pirate use?

I sew my own designs for a hobby, and I'm trying to make some pirate things. I was wondering if anyone could help with a bit of difficulty I'm running into... Firstly, boots. I read that in Pirates of the Caribbean, the boots weren't actual boots per se, just leather shoes with the upper part strapped on under the heel, spats I think they're called. So I'm considering buying a pair of cheap leather shoes, some leather remnants and making my own. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on patterns or advice on sewing with (soft) leather? And on altering the colour of the base shoes to match the upper part. Secondly, if anybody could poke me towards a pattern for a coat…

WizKids Games has announced the release of their new Pirate game: Pirates of the Spanish Main WizKids makes Crimson Skies (air pirates!), HeroClix, MageKnight, Mech Warrior, SportsClix, et al. They are at the forefront of miniatures gaming, and have a good reputation for making fun games that last. Pirates of the Spanish Main looks to be a radical game, only time will tell if it is a success.
