I'm getting ready to order me a pair of slops, but the tailor I'm buying from seems to have really long inseams for standard sizes. She can customize for an additional fee. How low should slops hang: top of the shoe, mid-calf, just below the knee?

Hey all, In the spirit of me constantly making almost everything too small the first time, I am offering my first attempt at the striped ticken breeches for sale. They will fit a 32 inch waist perfectly, or could also fit someone with a 30 inch waist without being too loose. I traced out the wrong size pattern when I made them, which is why they don't fit me and why I am now going to sell them. They have been sitting around unfinished for months, and I have no use for them, so hopefully there is an early 18th century pirate or nautical re-enactor out there who wants or can use them. These are accurate to the 1706 or 1717 British Admirality Slop contracts (same quote in …

I'm wondering if it is ever possible to find a ship's steering wheel (helm, I'm sure), or a modified one to replace the steering wheel in me car.

Ok, now that me first 'bad experience' in Pirate Shopping online is over (well, second, but who's counting). I am on the hunt once again for a pair of: brown Linen Knee Breeches I want to have them custom made so they fit me right, I prefer brass buttons but pewter is fine as I can at least sew button (don't much know if I do it right but when I sticks'em they tends ta stay Stuck!), I would prefer Buckles on the leg cuffs, and I suppose I will go with French button instead of Drop Front fer I be told that Drop Front taint PC, besides, I now have a pair of drop front with lace up legs and No buckle (NOT what I ordered but at least I can cover me bum fer now). So, now I …

For those in the south and midwest, or those who want to combine shipping, I found the source of most of my bar pieces that I showed photos of elsewhere. Not bad pricing, considering what you're getting. They also have cool wall kegs that actually hold booze. http://kentuckybarrels.com/ -- Hurricane

Aye just approved the proof yesterday from the printer and the issue is getting itself inked. Inside will be over a dozen pages devoted to PyrateCon2008. The rest of the magazine is filled with New Orleans pyratical information including a very well-written story by Cindy Vallar about Jean LeFitte. In our new one-on-one feature, we take on our favorite female pyrate, Scarlett Harlott who is this year's grand marshall of PyrateCon. Even Old New Orleans Rum came on board as our rum of the issue and the review section is filled with New Orleans books and movies. We review CDs from the two headlining bands at PyrateCon, Rusty Cutlass and Pirates Charles. www.pyratesway.…

I made me self a right nice hook, it come out so well I figured to see if there is any interest on the Pub for them. Made from heat treated 3/8" crome-vanadium steel, I can make 'em sharp or dull, with or with out the leather sleeve ( to hide your real hand). Welded on T handle. Just the thing for your scurvey pirate kit, and will scare the living be-jesus out of the young-uns.

Hello, I wasn't sure which e-mail to address so I have written to both of you. I am seeking to have a pair of Drop Front breeches made, in linen with brass buttons and buckle tabs at the leg cuff. Hey all! We're moving and I need to get rid of stuff I don't use. I've got a Ravenswood Leather coat, Saberist dress, Warrior belt, and two rapier frogs for sale. They're piratey, just not period accurate. I think I'm letting them go for a good deal. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll post some pics, or when I get a chance to upload them. Thanks!

Where might one be in finding of silken neck wear? I pilfered me self a nice large bit o' silk from Canada what makes a good head cover for t' keep me hat clean but can not find smaller bits what fer t' tie around me neck. ' I was think'n sumth'n like the piece Mr. Moon wears in 'Yellow Beard'; small, black, not bulky. Or what else might a pirate tie around the neck for t' fend off the night's chill wind? An' where might one find a good choice of rag for ta make sash with? I see lots of Jack Sparrow sash about, an' I see lots of modern cloth about, but where be the Hemp, Linen, Silk, and 100% Cotton types, preferably long enough fer two times around me wide rum filled…

Got my skeleton in the mail yesterday! Lucky for me, work was closed because of snow, so I went down in my basement shop and worked on this project. Do forgive me from going astray from reenactment topics, but I am putting together what I hope to be is a highly realistic skeleton pirate costume, not so much in the vein of POTC1, but to be more along the theme of Washington Irving's tale of the Headless Horseman, but instead as pirate. I have been thinking of creating a Headless Pirate of Nyack as an answer to the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. Just in case you didn't know, Nyack is the town directly across the Hudson river from Sleepy Hollow NY. I plan …

"If it's the captain's mess, let him clean it up!" For some reason, I signed up to this free magazine through Amazon.com called Domino that has all kinds of home deco stuff when I was thinking about my House Art Project. It's pretty typical for the most part, except some of the stuff is actually affordable (Compared to most home deco mags, this is saying something. Who, exactly, pays $10,000 for a wooden living room chair? And, more importantly, why? But I digress...) Domino has paid several returns to me throughout my tenure as a subscriber (including giving me a wicked cool idea for a haunted house room) and here is a link to another one, culled from the adverts: ZGa…
