Well I've just gone on account and I'm hoping to find a crew around British waters to serve with. Been knocking around living history for a couple of decades but this is the closest thing to modern I've done so far. Got lots of dumb questions to ask so if I annoy you I guess it'll be the black spot or flying lead'll be my prize.

Rumba Rue is, as far as I am concerned, one of my absolute best friends. My life would be lesser if she weren't a part of it. I love you, Rumba. Thank you for standing by me, despite my foolishness. Knowing you, I am graced. Thank you for believing in me. Now, keep reading my stories, dammit!

With the pub chat temporarily out of service, the crew of the Watch Dog would like to offer an alternative chat room as a service to all Pub members. Please feel free to drop by anytime and discuss the scuttlebutt of all things pyrate. The Scuttlebutt You may experience different results with different browsers, so try more than one if you have difficulties. Safari works well. Be certain that you have Java enabled with whatever browser you choose.

Yep as the title of the thread says, Registration has closed for six weeks due to no one around in the Administration area to monitor the spam. Sorry, but we Moderators have no control over the Registration. So if you were wanting to join, you'll probably have to wait until Feb. 2008. Rumba Rue

Well having been away for awhile I have returned without remembering my old account information. I am a pirate geek and have been for some time. My inner pirate has emerged prior to 2003 but fully emerged after the POTC trilogy. I am currently working on my own personal pirate personality and person so that I can at least break away from this said pirate. I make port in Long Beach, CA as I have found out many pirates hail from this region of California. Hoping to get involved with some pirating groups as my own personal pirate personality character soon! Arrr?

Ahoy there :). Just popping in quickly to say hello, and to introduce myself. The name, for now, is Toxicadia. I live in New Zealand, and am a very big fan of real Pirates, Anne Bonny being my most admired one. I started off with Blackbeard, but something about Anne just captures me! Anyway, this looks like a great site, thanks for letting me in. Drink up me hartys, yo ho :)

I have been a part of pirates in Ft Meyers as well as Key west and am new here on these forums. Being young and new I did not have a sufficiant name until tonight (I live in the Conch Republic state of Key Largo). Here a party is common as it is everywhere else but a pirate party among friends is also very common. anyways back to the topic on hand, I now have a name and that name as it has been given among my peers in a real pub experience (bearing in mind I own a 18 foot hobie, 21 foot center console, a 25 foot chris craft which was recently "acquired" and a 40 foot vintage ketch which have all together been acquired for under $200) which I first disagreed with due t…

My name is Larry AKA Lars and I am a piratical enthusiast marooned, as it were, in San Antonio, Texas, home of the Alamo. I am a lifelong historically-oriented person focusing on naval military history, and dabbled in the SCA and at being a Rennie, as well as living history for the English Civil War. My love for the GAoP has been around a long time but is now making itself felt everyday. After a recent one week trip to the Caribbean for my honeymoon, I really got to experience the open sea for the first time. Completely enchanting! I am always on the lookout for good books on pirates, especially contemporary first-person accounts, having read Exquemelin 's book and b…

This is Edward O'Keeffe, finally, after much delay, stopping in to say hello. It was great meeting everyone at Pip and I hope to become more active in this forum in the future. Let me buy a round for the house and raise a glass to everyone's health. Edward

I am so glad registration opened up, we have been reading the boards for months before PiP (which was our first pyrate festival) but we're not able to post until now. I figured I would start with a quick hello before running off and posting elsewhere because I have been reading many of the posts here for months, but no one knows me yet! And a quick thank you for all of the links we used from here to get our garb together this year!

Permission to come aboard just sounds too navy. I am a new arrival in the forum here, and figured I should post in the Avast Ye section. My home port is Tampa, and I try to get out to take pictures at the local events. If you like a pic in one of these galleries, click on it again and you get the large size. Florida Pirate Festival 2007 photos John Levique Days at John's Pass 2007 photos Sample of Pirates I've pointed the Canon at. I have half a mind to head down to Key West this weekend, but I still have to arrange lodging. High-speed internet access is beyond a must, which is limiting my options. Any advice, pyrates codes, or off the bulkhead remarks welco…

hello all, allow me a quick introduction. I am Dutchman from Blackbeards Crew based out of Hampton, Va. I have been lurking for about a year on the site and due to a shift of positions amongst the crew have taken the roll of pressgang master. Part of the assignment was to get the crews name active on the boards again. I look forward to keeping you all up to date on our activities and hopefully meeting many. -dutch

Ahoy mates. I'm a new member here and hope to do a bit more than trolling through the posts. I've been on the account for about a year and I'm looking to attend a few more events in the mid-Atlantic region during the 2008 season. I enjoy the "Living History" experience and I'll be checking the "Events" calendar often. I have a decent "kit", some hand-made navigation equipment (Octant, Quadrant, Astrolabe, Nocturlabe {Nocturnal}Cross-Staff, Traverse Board, &c) that I can reasonably use/explain, and a desire to do something. I'm not necessarily looking to join a crew right now , but if you have a berth open at an event, please keep me in mind. Regards, David

ahoy all, dutch from Blackbeard's crew here. It's been a long time since anyone from the crew has posted so I'll share the recent news with you. The big news is we have doubled in size since the last festival with amazingly talented folks. In addition, our beloved Quartermaster (and crew founder), John Glass attempted to retire to lead a new venture within the crew. We revolted and retired his title to him instead. Cap'n Pern now holds the new title of boatswain, is in charge of the group and I am the new pressgang master. Billy Flynt has returned from his voyages onboard the Kalmar Nykel and continues on as events coordinator. The festival was a success with large cr…

A very simple thing this. All you have to do is add to the story, whether thats by putting in a couple of wordds or even putting in a whole chapter. I wish to see just how epic and long this story could become and i'll start you all off....

For those of you who are getting your latest issue of The Pyrate's Way, on page 28, you will see a familiar visage - surrounded by her crew. Blackfox was gracious enough to publish an article about myself and my crew and he did a bloody wonderful job with the graphic logo that he created for the article. Blackfox, everyone of the Kiss' LOVES the logo - it's absolutely wonderful. And thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for being willing to highlight folks such as ourselves. When our paths cross, I am buying you a round! Fair Winds Emerald

Well a number of us now have each other's addresses, so I'm wondering if you all still want to do the Secret Santa gifting like last year? If you want to do it: The Secret Santa is open to all Pub members who have been here for at least two months or more. Due to someone never receiving a gift from their Santa, that particular Santa person will not be allowed to join in again. Also, some of you didn't get your goodies out until well after Christmas, making some people unhappy. Please make every effort to get things to your secret person before Christmas. Names must be into me no later than Oct. 31. So that on Nov. 1, I can start pulling names and give all of you at l…

Since we're on round two of the sketchbook journals, I was kinda curious as to who on the Pub keeps some kind of journal or diary. Is is GOP correct or mundane? Do you keep more than one? What kinds of things do you put in them (without revealing anything too personal, of course)? So far, I have four going. Computer diary — very personal stuff, written in dialogue. I picked a fictional character from one of my manuscripts to converse with. Sounds sort of weird, but it works. A small art journal 6" x 6", full of pictures, quotes, clip-art, snippets of stuff, art experiments, etc. A small, cheap (cost $1 ) ring notebook that I keep on our boat, to log in weather, water…
