Cap'n Pete Straw
Agreed... And then I started thinking... A two-foot snowfall would make my "easy hour drive back and forth to home" into a living nightmare. I have a car, not a sleigh. Hmmm.... hotel room.... Capt. Sterling
Honestly, the weather last year was fine, it snowed, briefly, on Saturday for about 15 mins... and I drove up from 70 degree weather in Virginia and just threw on a jacket. And hailing from Pittsburg... now, Silkie, ye have no excuse... Silkie McDonough
As much as I may want to attend it is not in the stars ...well, actually, it is not in the bank. I will be at PiP in November and doubt I will be able to swing the expense at that time.

Yes I hear and certainly understand...by the time we heard of PiP it was too late to add it to the roster this year... maybe next year... but in Dec. near the beach... doubt the captain would be up too much 'cept kicking back and relaxing... Cheeky Actress
Yes I know, but he is busy buying and moving into a new home ...AND I just got word yesterday that he have our 'finale' meeting before the big event on November 11th. I am sure that after the meeting he will be able to send out updates and such about the upcoming 2007 event. We just have to wait a bit longer! Cheeky Actress
Well it is my pleasure and honour to announce the special guest lecturer that we have been able to entice across the Pond for RF2. You all know him, at least through the Pub, and believe me, once you guess who he is you will be making the trip to RF2 this year. It isn't every day we get to meet in person some one who's brain we've all been wanting to pick and plunder for some of the best Pyrate history.... Let us see who can guess who he is! First hint: His published works include various articles for No Quarter Given, the Living History Register, Skirmish Magazine, Echoes From The Past, andVoices of Valour. Also the books, "A Pleasant and Strong Place - Pepys and Portsmouth" and "Jolly Rogers - an illustrated history of pirate flags" (the latter is in publication at the moment, but should be out by RF2). The Doctor
Damn, damn, damn it! We'll just be getting back from the "Mirth and Merriment" cruise, and I have no doubt we'll be broke. Raise a jar for us, if you please! Yo ho ho! Or does nobody actually say that?
Capt. Sterling
Ah sorry to hear that Mad Jack, although I hope ye all have a grand time of it on yer cruise!! But if there be a way ye can attend be sure to give us a hollar from across the room as the crewe of the Archangel would be honoured to meet you and yours. If there be a chance of ye attending a lecture of our surprise guest, I'll see if I can't get the specific times and post em here. Second clue: Other items that he has worked on: Secret History; Empire; Worst jobs in History; Battlefield Britain (BBC television); and he is currently working on an as-yet-unnamed 6 part documentary series on pirates for the History Channel. Wonder how much of his info he learns from Captain Twill... Capt. LadyBarbossa
My God it's been a while I've haunted th' Pub. Aye... I'm excited about the Re-enactors Fest. Again... whether I can go or not is still up in the air. I, unfortunately, won't know if I can attend until... well, once classes start in Mid-January. Unfortunately. But.. I am praying! I am hoping! I REALLY want to go! I know at Cantigny a couple weekends ago they were handing flyers out for the Re-enactors Fest. Oh! And Sterling! LOVE the picture of you in the site's photo gallery. You are at the bottom of page 2.. but such a fetching image! ~Lady B Tempt Fate! an' toss 't all t' Hell!" "I'm completely innocent of whatever crime I've committed."
