  1. Gunny Shalaq, Petee... you guys are spot on... I can't say I enjoy the taking of human life, but definately was glad it was one of them, and not one of my boys... nor do I miss the cold, the heat, the wet, the hunger or thirst, the sleeplessness that comes with being a combat infantryman, but I do miss sharing those hardships with a bunch of other guys, my brothers... something that is tough to understand if you haven't been there... knowing that if, WHEN, you went into harm's way, there would be those guys to your left and right that were standing there with you, that wouldn't hesitate, and wouldn't let you down, no matter what was ahead... something truly special about that. :)

  2. I'd love to go, lass, as I have a great fondness for Southern California in general, and pirates in particular... but, there be this thing called "work" keeping me from it... that, and about 2000 miles of land...! Mebbe next time B)

    Hope ya all have a grand outting, however!!

  3. I'm still running and gunning with the Marine Corps... went to Boot Camp in 1994, served on active duty as a grunt til 1998, and went back to the grunts as a reservist after September 11th... served part of a combat tour in Iraq until I was injured in battle... I still feel bad that I was sent home early while the rest of my boys were still in the dust and the dirt...

  4. Porn Name- Jeremiah Anderson ;) (I always thought I'd use Max Effert or Johnny Strongbone if I got into porn...)

    Romance Writer- Michael Ashcroft (sounds more like the name of a Porn Producer... :( )

    Pirate Name- Silver Legged Mike... not bad, not bad! ;)

  5. Christine, what I really meant is that if you say Scottish and Irish then you should say English, not British. People from the British Isles are all British, but if you're talking about the different countries in Britain seperately then the people from England are English.

    Try telling that to my grandparents, both born and raised in Scotland... if someone were to mention they were British, they'd jam a haggis down their throat ! ! !

    :lol::huh::huh:
