  1. Arr, ye be so far from the LA area... *looks forlornly at the map* Wish I could go, but I'm afraid me personal jet plane be down fer the... day. Deviana "The Wolf" Windsor
  2. "Polite?" Hah! Lass, ye flatter us. *laughs* Welcome aboard, we welcome all (well, most, anyway! >=)), but as long as ye like pirates! blackjohn's right, though, you might want t' start a new thread under Initiation Rites on the main forum page and introduce yerself there. Deviana "Wolf" Windsor
  3. Great site, thanks for that, Stormfeather! I'm actually going to go out now and start asking some theatres. Actually, the places that have shown midnight Moulin Rouge (in manner of Rocky Horror, just cooler) are the big chains, the Mann theatres. But yes, the small theatres show Rocky at midnight. Might as well start there. I will start asking theatres now, at any rate... I can't wait to see this happen in my area! Deviana "The Wolf" Windsor
  4. Ojai was a blast this year, as always! I enjoyed the battle reenactment again, becuase the Dutchman with his wooden clogs was just too hilarious. :) It was hotter'n hell, but it was still alright. My pet rat didn't seem to like it much, though. Deviana "The Wolf" Windsor (Cap'n Wolfy Wench)
  5. O' course, Cap'n Flint, Han's a true pirate! I am a huge Star Wars fan, and every time I watch the films, I notice more and more how his costume is very much pirate-like fer th' new age, as it were. Beige shirt with a collar and an open front, a vest, belt, slacks, n' boots. Lando: How've you been, you old space pirate? Yes, love me th' lines from Empire Strikes Back. Leia: Occasionally, maybe, when you're not acting like a scoundrel. Han: Scoundrel? Scoundrel... I like the sound of that. From A New Hope: Luke: I thought you said this thing was fast! Han: Watch your mouth, kid, or you'll find yourself floating home! Luke didn't know that you NEVER insult a captain's ship! Yarrr. Captain Wolfy Wench
  6. Not in CALIFORNIA?!?!?! But we're the ones who host the Buena Vista Studios!!! *growl* Oh well, maybe next time. Captain Wolfy Wench
  7. I was at the Celtic Music Festival in Long Beach a few weeks back, and I had seen a patch of this band on one of the punk-looking kids. The patch was very pirate-esque, and I began to wonder if maybe it was worth looking into this band. I suppose I was right. Thanks for this, Joshua! Captain Wolfy Wench
  8. I'm not going to believe this on the sole reason that the spelling is just so bad in this little tidbit. 'Nuff said, I think that we shouldn't believe this. Captain Wolfy Wench
  9. There's an ANIMATED series of this?! Redwall was first a long-running and very popular book series of the same premise by Brian Jacques. I have several of the books that I bought when I was younger becuase I just love animals. When I started reading, I found they were a bit too difficult for me to be reading by myself, but now I know that there are pirates, I shall pick it up again (it's been years!). Actually, the same author, Jacques, wrote another book series apart from Redwall. The first is called Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, and it's about a ghost boy and his dog who are sent by an angel to wander the world helping people in need. The front of the book featured the boy and dog with a nice piratical-looking ship, so I figured why not. There is also a new sequel to Castaways, called The Angel's Command. If you like Redwall, and more especially since we're all pirates here, I reccomend reading Castaways. I haven't read it myself yet, but I hear it's great! It features lots of actual pirates in the books, so it's worth the risk. Captain Wolfy Wench
  10. At leats if Disney released a new boxed set, we could look forward to new cover art and design for the discs and packaging. I'm really a whore when it comes to new stuff and novelty... I will treasure the same exact DVD set as something else I have just becuse the packaging is new. *gnashes fangs* Disneyyy... they're pushing it now! Captain Wolfy Wench
  11. While this may seem like a reasonable idea, it's not for marketing and popularity purposes. I have heard SO many times from people not as obsessed as all of you or I am that (and I quote) "the movie would suck if Johnny Depp wasn't in it." This may not be true, but it is true that Johnny Depp's amazing and original performance as a new kind of pirate is what launched the film into popularity. In fact, Depp carried the movie so far that, as you know, he got an Oscar nomination for it, in a Comedy/Action film! To take out Capt. Jack Sparrow's character would be a detriment to the film that no one else could replace. Not only that, but it was mentioned many times that the two original script/story writers were writing a story ABOUT Jack Sparrow, and thus, all sequels would be more stories about Jack. There is no way they would make another PotC without Johnny Depp or Jack Sparrow. No way. Disney has more sense than that. But I'm sure the film would benefit a lot with new cast, just becuase I can foresee a repetitiveness in story/theme with the same characters. If anything, they would drop all characters except Jack Sparrow, but everyone is already signed on for the two sequels. Captain Wolfy Wench
  12. Arrr, glad ter hearrr all this good news, Royaliste! We all wants to set our deadligh's on the picturrres. I'd also love ter have a deck below me paws again... hope she'll be at Ojai or Tallships... will she? Captain Wolfy Wench
  13. Oooh, this movie sounds so cool! I just watched a History channel special on bounty hunters, and the real life ones of today. So cool, can't wait to see her in action. :) Captain Wolfy Wench
  14. WHAT THE #@*&^@#&?!?! Disney proves that sometimes, they can be pirates like the best of us. I was thinking, so innocently, that the new DVD will be a NEW box, a DVD set with 3 discs in it, not the regular 2-disc set and third disc packaged with it! Arrrgh, this is the worst news ever. I've never seen anything like this before! Captain Wolfy Wench
  15. Arrrgh, I'm sure I woulda bought 'is stuff at one time or another if'n I hadn't read this message! >.O Captain Wolfy Wench
  16. *kicks topic back up* :) Glad t' hear ye'll be there again, Royaliste! I 'ope t' see the Royaliste up there too, since I don' get t' see it so often! BatSpell, I do drive now, but Merced is a bit far for me! If'n yer part of a reenactment group, maybe ye c'n get a ride from 'em. Captain Wolfy Wench
  17. Thanks very much, Das. I will make sure to check out the site you gave me. I really do want to volunteer somewhere on a ship, and it's great that there are so many in Southern California, and more specifically, my area. I'll take further looks. Thanks again! Captain Wolfy Wench
  18. I'm in Southern California and I am so jealous of a friend of mine who's tall ship sailing right now. I was wondering if anyone knew how I can get aboard a tall ship for a week or two? Where I can go? I know about the LA Maritime Institute, but I wondered if they'd let me aboard one of their "youth" programs. Perhaps this is a question better suited for the Tall Ships festival next month. :) Oh well, any help is appreciated. Captain Wolfy Wench
  19. I've a really interested friend in auditioning... now he'll try and look for the casting calls. :) Captain Wolfy Wench
  20. Okay, it sounds EXACTLY the same as the last DVD. Not a damn thing differently. Now unless they added the extra scenes into the movie itself, it seems like an extra blank disc was added to this set for fun! I knew they were going to do this too, but it's fans like us that go out and buy 'em anyways. I'm sure they'll release more extras onto that new DVD, but haven't bothered to tell us yet. There would be absolutely no reason for Disney to go through the trouble of releasing a new DVD set of the same movie if there's nothing new on it. Doesn't make sense at all... Captain Wolfy Wench
  21. I agree... we gotta have the pictures! We love those. Captain Wolfy Wench
  22. Aye, those be the haunted ships from Michael's, the craft stores! I saw those last year while I was buyin' last minute things to complete me costume... and I almost bought it, but they be a bit expensive. Around $40 or so. Maybe righ' after Halloween they won't be so bad. Captain Wolfy Wench
  23. Greenighs, YOUR ICON IS AMAZINGGGG!!! There is no one else on the boards who knows of how I love Jack and Will being... um... touchy feely. ^______^ Love that icon, I saw the animated GIF of it awhile ago, but I'm so glad it's on the boards now. Captain Wolfy Wench
  24. I'd love ter do somethin' in me area for TLAPD... maybe I'll jest get me friends over fer a couple of piratical-related movies. Arrgh. >.< Captain Wolfy Wench
  25. OH MY DEAR GOD!! I practically live at Disneyland though I can't really afford it all that well. I know the place like the back of my hand because I go at least three times a year with my best buddies! This is wonderful news indeed! I certainly hope that the Jacks they hire will be good ones... and I MUST see this Jack hat. I know I'll be seeing more of those on cheap Jack cosplayers. I'll get one for myself, if only so that I own every damn thing PotC. Captain Wolfy Wench
