  1. wow! you guys look great! I wish I could have made it, but I was working and it was cold and dang... you guys look GOOD!
  2. I got to go to the Iowa City area con, and there was a steampunk theme. My pic is from there, as a Merry Ray consultant.. because Beauty hurts! This was my first steampunk event ever. I think I did ok, but I would like some constructive criticism.
  3. wow! I love the dog! and you both look great.
  4. Merry me Dear it seems I has missed yer birthday I wish you all the best an I hope that ye has done yer best to be at yer worst, take what ye can an give nothin back says I.

  5. I know a few of the rens that go to the St Louis area fests and a few of the pirates too. I also have sailed a fest or two with some from the KS area. I might be able to do a few fests in MO and KS this year, but time and money will tell. I'm on Facebook -mostly- and myspace once in a while. Look me up and say ahoy!
  6. I got to go to an Iowa sci-fi convention this fall, that had a steampunk theme. I had a great time with the Brass Falcon airship crew, and all the others who attended. If anyone is interested, I can PM them info. I'll try to find a pic or two. :) hey Patrick, if you can help a girl out and critique her outfit, let me know. lol
  7. I might be more in MO this summer, if all goes well! I hope to have great great news this summer. Contact me on FB..
  8. greetings! I will try to get on the pub more often, have been busy with the one full time and 2 part time jobs I have! While we dont currently have too many crew in MO, we might be getting more next year. I am traveling to OK a bit this year, and hope to meet up with Bo and a few others in the summer. My daughter will be getting married in TX this May, and I might be able to pull off a day to meet new members! Was at KCRF on last weekend, and had a blast! Non-traditional all the way, but the Jolly Rogers rocked and the pirate shows were the best. Combat chess was amazing in its silliness. anyhoo, give me a jingle or meet me on facebook, fools gold pirates or Melissa A. cheers!
  9. one of the midwest faires doesnt allow weapons of any kind, except repo guns. None, nada. and they will take them away from you. The reason? Someone drunk grabbed a knife off of someone's belt and cut the owner in the stomach. 5 seconds and their insurance took a huge hit. Even perfomers can only have weapons as needed. And you sign a big waiver if you do need them for a show. I dont agree with it 100% but I've seen enough crazy/drunk patrons to know crap happens. Took a whip from a 13 year old just before he hit someone with it, and just this weekend reprimanded 2 20-year olds for sword play on a sidewalk at a faire. seriously... sigh
  10. to the point, my current car is an old Dodge Strattus, runner on fumes and killer of deer... I named it the Jolly Roger Dodger.
  11. another wondeful picature of the crew and friends, at Port Washingon WI. We even have all our teeths!
  12. we are a loverly looking crew if I do say so me self.. a spot of grog and the smiles shine!
  13. got to go see Col Ren Faire last year and I was very jealous of the carousing going on at the pub. Alas, I had to leave (sober) and missed the frivolities. Just a reminder that by 2012, you will have ocean front property, if the far-seers are true! Most of the water I'm seeing lately is puddles! haaaaarrrrr!
  14. I've tried to update the site, but I dont have the program that I used to make the site at the beginning. I can try to fix it, but my laptop doesnt like website fixes! I might try to get to Macs Pub this year in the Fall tho.
  15. agreed with the starfires that BOS uses. They bought some F'uglies and have had some good fights with them! lots of clash and clang with nary a bad ding. Quite a few small nicks but still workable. however, dont get F'ing drunk and try to bend yours in a fire. It became brittle and snapped. No, I didnt do it. I just saw the poor dog who did it, and just shook my head.
  16. found some amazingly good lantern hooks for my tent ridge pole. Black with curled ends, very sturdy, looks smith made. Also screw in hooks and shelf holders, all about $4 and at menards in the small plant/garage section.
  17. lol.. love the book idea, couldda used that once or thrice. Bo, my old and dear friend, congrats on the wee and (wheeing) one! I'm sure you will post a pic when you can, so us soft and crustys can see.. will try to get the lastest pic of my wee grand bairn on here somehow too.. take care and cheers!

  23. just wanted to wish Scupper a belated birthday from 11-21, (missed it just a bit) and also to wish him luck with the new baby! just read in an email from novenber that he and his fiance Kat are having a little tyke in june.. big surprise but a marlevous way to celebrate two people who care about each other. I thought the ole mate was beyond diapers and that kinda bottle but cheers to em both for taking on such a gift! wish him well for another year around the sun and possible son.
  24. greetings all, (typing 1 handed for a while) thank yu Lady B for the post!I had surgery on the 20th for a torn right rotator cuff.. means they had to ruffen up the end of the shoulder and sew little threads into it to reattach the cartlidge. I'll be off work at least 1 month and any heavy lifting for a year while it re=graffs. I have some heavy drugs to take for pain especially during therapy to make the arm rotate again.. that started monday! luckily my surgeon is trained on atheletes and not retirees.. he knows i need to get back to fests and faires! my daughter and last next of kin I trust is moving to japan next month for 3 years and taking my sweety grandson with her. I had to have the surgery now or miss having anyone to help. .. merde. :) good note, my PTherapist is happy with my rotation and will work with me til i can move, and my daughter will get to travel over asia, close to her sister in S Korea. thanks all... i have missed yu will i got my house in order.. litrally.
