  1. If Capt Jim isn't able to make it (and someone lets me know in time) I should be able to pick up what we need here in Ft Lauderdale and bring it down with me.
  2. Sounds like one from Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
  3. If you're going to go with the Greek and Roman mythological names I like Tantalus, Nemesis, Fortuna, and Discordia.
  4. I just pick up a couple of these little journals to try and practice my sketching when I go to events. I think they should be "period" enough for my use. They are about 6" x 5" and have 150 pages or so. I also have one of those brass "mechanical" pencils from JAS Townsend that are supposed to be from the late 1600's.
  5. Nope, not 'Lost Boys', although I liked that movie too.
  6. That was from Reservoir Dogs... another great movie. Here's mine, it's from a stupid movie, but I loved it! - "Has anybody here read a real book about vampires, or are we just remembering what a movie said? I mean a real book." "You mean like a Time-Life book?"
  7. Got mine also! I already have the gift too. I ordered two of something that I really wanted. Hopefully they like it as much as me.
  8. I also enjoy wandering around the cemetery occasionally. Here are a few shots from Salem this summer. You could feel the spirits there as well.
  9. interrogation (edit) Alright, I'm a Ship's Master now !
  10. I work from 6pm to 2am. If they think I'm staying an extra hour tonight they got another thing coming...
  11. I picked up one of those axes on sale at Harbor Freight a few months ago and did the same thing to it. I did all of my reshaping with an angle grinder and then power sanded out the tool marks with no problems. I'll have to get a picture or two and post them here.
  12. Great job Kenneth and Chris. Makes me look at my stuff and see lots of room for improvement.
  13. Here are some I can think of off the top of my head - I always liked the Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood movies, A Fistful Of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, as well as some of the Eastwood movies that came after. For newer movies, I really enjoyed the Lord Of the Rings trilogy. In my opinion they could have even made it even longer, or in more parts, in order to include a lot of the stuff they left out. I've read the books at least 3 or 4 times since I was young and the movies followed them pretty well. I also liked the Blade movies... martial arts and vampires, always a good combination !
  14. Has anything been decided on the cooking and food issue yet? I haven't seen any more talk about the cooking details in quite a while here. I remember Callenish Gunnar saying that he'd be bringing some cooking gear along with him, how about anyone else? Are we going to chip in on some meals together or is it going to be everyone on their own? I have some big cast iron pans and a large 12 qt dutch oven with a tripod that I'll bring with me if needed. I recall someone saying it wouldn't be period and we should have a large copper pot though. I can make pork with pineapple and yucca in the dutch oven, along with rice. It would feed quite a few people and would be appropriate for the location...
