A Merchanting we shall go ~ amazing how fast a MiniCooper fills up with gear. (Yep, roadtrip vacation on the way down to PiP ~ in Mark's MiniCooper. God help us if the air bags blow ~ we'll be either impaled on tent poles or crushed against the sea chest.) I should have enough items to give a nice interactive talk (have one new surprise in particular that I am Very excited about!), similar to the one I gave at the Field Museum. The kids and adults alike seemed to enjoy seeing common items and learning about their uses, so I think I will continue to develop it.

Wishing her the Best ~ stick with the excercises, do as the rehab folks say... Mark had rotator cuff/SLAP tear surgery last year just before PiP, and was back to full strength this spring.

I recently came across an article describing the transfer of flame via Spills ~ a long curled shaving of wood or paper, though paper was not preferred, due to undesirably fast burn and ash production. Dated back to the 15th century, the spill acted as the match precursor.

i almost missed that... Bwahahahaha .........(twisting moustache) .......... Oh and we made a special "Not Nigel" gate pass just for you, it is attached to a rope ladder. Looks like another PiP with little to no sleep, to be sure I am enjoying all the fun!

Good Afternoon, Vintage Sailor ~ I will bring with my ladies leather boots, and my husband will be wearing his leather boots (sigh ~ a torn achilles tendon is not making his life great right now), so you can see them. Boot availability has been a problem in the past, with unbelievable shipping delays from the company I order from. So, if you don't need them right away, you can at least have a look at them, and I'll see what I can do if you are interested. Wow! Your wife does have small feet. Trying to get caught up ~ luckily Fayma told me about the Duty roster... Please sign up Mark and myself for Gate Duty Thursday, 0300-0500. To be clear, this is no longer Thursday, but actually Friday morning, correct? If so, I can also take Fort women's bathroom duty for that Friday morning, as I will be up :) ~ I would clean right after Gate duty.

Wow. That picture makes you look seven feet tall. Did people take a step back when you went trick-or-treating? We stopped traffic while walking around in neighborhoods. Just the little bit of effort I made really made a difference, because just about other house we hit I got asked a buncha questions. Plus girls loooove to pose with a pirate. In this the wife was not pleased with the added attention. Fringe benefit of being a pyrate I suppose? Welcome aboard! And I am glad you posted your photos ~ you guys look great, and shouldn't feel awkward. This is an expensive hobby if you go the authentic route, and not everyone is looking for the historical aspect. I have found that putting out the extra effort makes a big difference on Halloween ~ people enjoy seeing the creativity!
