  1. I wish you both a Most Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. We shall communicate further, Dutch "X" his mark

  2. A very happy belated birthday to a truly fine lady ~
  3. Fish are tough to lose ~ you get attached to them without really realizing it. I have had fish for many years, and it hurts every time I lose one.
  4. Oh my gosh! Too funny, though, after our trip down to PiP in the MiniCooper, I can state with some authority that PiP'ing it in the Peep-mobile would be a real character builder ~
  5. Oooh! That is a lovely find, Mission! The scissors are really quite nice ~
  6. I am honored to have received a lovely reproduction 18th century Russian silver pendant of guardian saints ~ thank you for such a thoughtful gift, Secret Santa!
  7. A Very Happy Birthday to an amazing man, who I hope to one day meet!
  8. Yuletide Greetings! I hope you are having a Very Merry Christmas. Dutch "X" his mark

  9. Interesting ~ I suppose the spill plane is therefore a later period innovation? The plane turns out long cylindrical curls of thin overlapping wood, as opposed to the sliver style which you make ~ I would think the planed thinness would make them burn faster, but I have no practical experience with them, and a modern spill plane is a $50 investment (I haven't been that good ).
  10. Thank you for another great quote ~ love the snippets you post...
  11. Fantastic! Do you make the spills yourself? I would be most interested in seeing the plane you use ~ I am quite intrigued by spills and their practical use.
  12. Captain Bo ~ Words never truer spoken ~ thank you so much for your post.
  13. And a very Happy Birthday to you, indeed!
  14. While I am not Mercury crewmate, this event is a mere 6 hour drive from us ~ Hah! A piece of cake compared to driving to PiP. Unfortunately, the June timeframe is, as always, problematic. We shall see... I would love the opportunity to meet Bo ~ and WILLIAM! The Fort de Chartres website
  15. While running through WalMart Miami on the way down to PiP ~ (needed some black acrylic paint and a few art brushes) In their crafts section, I found some lovely Thick soft polished hemp twines. I picked up 2 balls, and can't wait to re-knot my bottles. Sold in a ball, with a blue and white paper label identifying it as Fashion Cord. Not sure how the pricing compares to other vendors, but it was a see it-feel it-want it thing ~
  16. Lovely shot of you ~ with some fascinating items!
  17. gasp WILLIAM!!! It was lovely to see you at PiP, every time (except for the first, when I still wasn't sure who that man was...). and Maddogge thinks You think You have trouble getting old? A pleasure, always ~ Wishing you the very best ~ Happy Birthday!
  18. Ah, happy day! The spoon and perhaps the spoon-tip knife (I swore I had packed it, but can't find it now to get all the flatware back together) may be mine, if there are no markings on them.
  19. Good Morning, dearest Lady B! The 2" Heeled Buckle Shoe is indeed still available ~ priced at $40 per pair. If you need them for RF, please try to let me know before the end of December ~ the holidays are sure to tweak my provider, and they are not as responsive as I would like sometimes. YHS, Mary Diamond
  20. If it was the 3-part fuse that burned really quickly ~ it may have been from Vintage Sailor. I gave a sample to Captain Sterling ~
  21. Thanks for keeping an eye out ~ as the spoon was just purchased at PiP from Greg, I didn't have time to put any marks on it. The napkin and spoon were most likely mislaid in our camp ~ the handkerchief at RF. Rats ~ I haven't seen the wooden porridger, though I recall seeing it around camp.
  22. We'll have another Santa Maria event in September (Talk Like a Pirate Day weekend). Mark Thank you for the update ~ I will keep an eye out for it.
  23. Love my hubby!! Clothes stictly optional. And him in Fop would be one seriously pissed off Fop. You'd probably see the wig winging out the tent, hanging from the top of the salt pines like airborne roadkill. Though, as luck would have it, he may tolerate me making a coat for him, due to the cool temps this year.
