this is very true here. my garb gets rave reviews at pirate events and ren faires, yet here it is looked down upon. i recomend to anyone that if you have garb not made from silk,linen, or wool just dont even show it here. thats what ive learned.its a good site to get ideas and info from. In the very short time that I've been lurking here, I'm gonna observe that bit of advice. If anything, it's an incentive for me to either come correct or don't come at all. I was ready to post pics from this past Halloween of me and the family but....nuh-uh. tho....for the life of me...i'm not sure why??....i admittantly lean towa's the "wool and linen" variety....i dont believe this forum should be for "only the period"...which i find to be wholly outnumbereed yet somehow retain the monarchy??.....i for one thuroghly enjoy seeing EVERYONES garb...fact/fantasy/or other....there is room on this bench for all endevours.... so ...please....all are welcomed...and encouraged to post pics of garb...

no...not of any notice...we have a couple in the group...faster than you'd think...wonderfully balanced....they really take pride in the fact that these are really used!!

if what you are wanting is a stge combat...with a lifetime warranty....there's no better than STARFIRE....Zak even took our sugestions (Rats pushed it)...and built a better cutlass (not the brass hilted one...the other one)....but they are very genaeric in style....we are taking some starfire blades...and putting on new...more correct hilts....for fantastic bangers that last a lifetime.... but if ya just want a pretty one...or a more period peice with out the aftermarket....then there are better places to search

You should be able to find a couple of trees. Although, I'm not sure how much planting they did this year so you will have to hunt for established trees. Last year, they requested that hammocks be taken down during the day. I'm assuming that will apply for this year as well. last year there was some requests NOT to use hammocks...and was tuned down to take down durring the day...because of NEW plantings...and i know there were discussions/controversy about removing remainder of the trees and planting more indigenous species....also didnt want the locals and/or tourists wanting to put up hammocks as well(which are forbidden most days)..... so....bring one(i am as well)...but be advised that sleeping on some tuffted up coral rocks maybe the option...!?!?!

yep...i beleive things are goinna be regulated the same as last year...for military style lines...flash guards...all others not nesesary if proper distance from neighbor is held.... many of mine have difficulty with flash guards as well.... this copy of the rules have not been updated in past couple of years...i dont believe anything has changed.

you are correct there Cascabel...these and other oddball weapons(Hawkins )...are not for breaking but for "slowing" an opponets blade...just long enough to land yours....would be used similiar in use to a cloak or jacket used for parrys.... tho with the trident...still has a "sharp point"...for a lucky thrust with the left hand(over a cloak etcetc) and i agree...made for rapier style duelling....no match for the backswords or cutlass pretty tho

Have you considered St Jude Childrens Medical Hospital in Memphis?? my wife is a survivor...and she was given a 2 week sentence...that was 13 years ago if you need a contact...call me..we are still in touch with the Hospital

made one of these years ago....Damn fine job there now...if ya tied a stopper knot...about every other hole er soo...ya could tighten em as needed when the ropes start slacking to time and weight...my granny had an olde rope bed down south...loved sleeping on it..after ya tightened the bed..as in...Sleep tight...
