  1. Aye, ye'll cut a dashin' figure in togs made from silk velvet! Congrats to ye mate, and be sure to post some pics of yer finished clothes. Cheers, Broadside, his mark
  2. Is that the faire just outside Colo Sprgs? I reckon that's the same one. It's in the town of Castle Rock, in between Denver and Co Srings. So it could be just outside Co Srings or just outside o' Denver, depending on yer point o' reference. (D@mn to the depths Einstein and his blasted Theory o' Relamativity!) But I'm pretty sure that be the one since it's the only Renfest I heard tale 'bout 'round here. Anyway, I've also been to the Faire just outside o' Charlotte a coupla times as well. I really enjoyed that one and I'd love to go back one o' these days. Never been to Bristol, however. Cheers, Broadside, his mark
  3. Mate Nigel, I dropped anchor in the town of Westminster, kinda in between Denver and Boulder if you don't already know. We enjoyed the CO Renfest a lot, even though we only got to go once this season. Definitely plan on going a few times next year. It's beautiful here in CO, but I miss being near the coast. Not that I ever actually lived ON the coast, nor particular close to it. I think it was just the knowledge that I could be on the beach within a reasonable amount of time. I feel kinda land-locked here, as I'm sure you know. Anyway, from whereabouts in CO do ye hail? Cheers, Broadside
  4. Animal, Hope all yer mates weathered the storm unharmed. The Caymans are a beautiful place. I was sorry to see all the devastation. Broadside
  5. wow! Those shoes are great for $3. And they're already broken in. Bonus! Maybe I should get off the 'net and get meself to a thrift store. Cheers, Broadside
  6. Mate RumbaRue, Thanks for the tip. I had no idea the shipping charges would be almost as much as the shoes. That's ridiculous! JasTown also has some very nice 17th-18th century shoes and a big selection of period buckles. They cost more, but are probably a more reputable operation. Or maybe ye could just get some idees of what to look for in the thrift stores. Cheers, Broadside
  7. Aye, 'tis a fine dashin' outfit! Tell your mate about these shoes: They would look great with that ensemble. And they're only 63 doubloons at By The Sword. I'm thinkin' about plunderin' a pair meself. Cheers, Broadside, his mark
  8. Sounds good Marona. The CO Ren Faire starts in July, I think, so maybe you'll be here around that time. I only went once this year, but it looked like there might be a buccaneer crew carousin' there. Look forward to talkin' to ya. Cheers, Broadside, his mark P.S. I believe there's another scallywag on this here forum from Longmont, CO.
  9. I live in Colorado now. I'm not a native, but I got here as fast as I could! Ironically, I moved from here from Georgia. Odd for a pyrate to move AWAY from the coast I know, but I love it here! Cheers, Broadside, his mark
  10. Arrrr! I live in Westminster, Colorado. Been wonderin' if any other pyrates prowl these waters and now I know! As to tattoos. I'm no expert, but I have three. The armband hurt the most, on the underside. Lookin' to get some more when the time is right. Here's Luck, Broadside, his mark
  11. Arrr! PyratePhil shanghaied me idea! Broadside
  12. Mate, Ye can also try SCA Boots if ye need something inexpensive. I heard good things about 'em and they're runnin' a special now. Here's Luck, Broadside, his mark
  13. They have some atCenter Stage Costumes. I got a pattern from Kannik's Korner that is supposed to be period correct, but have yet to try it. If any of ye mates have tried this pattern, let me know how it is. Here's Luck, Broadside, his mark
  14. 'Tis a fine craft, to be sure! Where might a pyrate commandeer such a vessel? Here's Luck, Broadside, his mark
  15. How 'bout the former site of Execution Dock, the spot where Capt. William Kidd and numerous others were hung for 'Murther and Pyracy'. I understand there's a pub adjacent to the spot now. Arrrr! Broadside
  16. Do what I did...learn to sew. If ol' Broadside can learn... I assure you, you can. I have some pics (that I'll post soon) of a shirt I made for a friend for around $15. I paid $55 for a similar shirt at a Ren Fest before I learnt how to sew. Broadside
  17. Sounds like you mates know where to make the good finds on Ebay! I thought I did well with me hat purchase, but now I have some doubts! Broadside
  18. It was a lucky find, mate Stynky! Somebody bought it I think and just didn't want it anymore. Duchess, Aye, it is an Excalibur Leather hat as I mentioned in me original post. Arrrr! Broadside
  19. Yeah, if you remember when Cap'n Jack and Elizabeth are on the desert island drinking rum, Jack mentions to Elizabeth that it appears that the rum-runners are out of business probably "thanks to your friend Norrington" or something to that effect. Broadside
  20. Here's mine again: Parley?! Broadside
  21. Welcome home, Black Jack. Hope your son makes it out okay. From one who served, Broadside
  22. Since ye be likin' names with 'black' in the name, 'ow 'bout ye Black Fortune or ye Black Heart? Or if ye perfer mythical beasts, 'ow 'bout ye Monticore or ye Black Phoenix? Good pyrate names, the lot of 'em! Arrrr! Broadside
  23. Perhaps they could do a "prequel" and bring Cap'n Barbossa back? Broadside
  24. Be sure to post some pictures mate! Arrrr! Broadside
  25. Don't forget, Bilgemunkey, two in the chest, one in the head with that 9mm! For protectin' the home, I have a rapier, baskethilt broadsword, and claymore by the door. Another claymore above the hearth and if that doesn't persuade them, a .40 handgun in the boudoir. Hooah! Broadside
