  1. It was really great meeting you all! I have a few pics and such I'll post later....Anyone going for another weekend? I'm going to try and make it out on Sunday I think. I'm enjoying my Patrick "Handmade" knife I won in the auction...and for a good cause as well!!
  2. It threw me off at first, I thought I was at the wrong place, but I like it now that I've been back a few times.. Yes I like it...
  3. It's Perfect!! Cheeky, if your looking for an extra pair of hands that know what they are doing, you can use mine anytime!!
  4. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you in person!!
  5. You should check out the site....if I'm not mistaken, Tony made Norrington's sword, so if you want one exactly like it, he's the man. You can have it made in "Actor aluminum" or steel. It's not going to be cheap, so you better have a big bank account! I still can't understand why you would want it for just a wall hanger? Something like that, you almost have to show it off.....I think it might even be against the law not to!
  6. I would post pics of me in my minimum garb, but it might make the ladies blush....
  7. Tony's site, click on movie credits for PoTC 1,2 or 3..... http://www.swordandstone.com/weapons.html
  8. Thats what I use! Brown ritz liquid full strength in a spray bottle....Lets see some pics for effect!!
  9. I've been looking into that for like 3 months! Let us know if you find anything.. Didn't ships keep lockers of pistols and then handed them out from the armoury before battle? Could you imagine what 300 pistols together would look like? Pretty bulky...Then to give every sailor 4 or 5 pistols? I don't know about that.
  10. Thank you Kass and Capt for the info....Now I can start my period cooperage research. I wish there was a thread started in Twill that lists the top ten books every person striving to be authentic should own..With so many books out there now, it's hard to tell whats worth reading.
  11. Good lord! I just read Capt Tightpants's response....How rude. Kass, you allow that? Chapman, People take Twill very seriously, so if you don't have your facts straight, you'll hear about it. Answering serious questions without evidence or knowledge to back up your answers when you're in Twill is a big no no. I know and learned from experience. It still doesn't give Capt Tighty Whitey the go ahead to tell you to p!ss off! (spit in his direction)
  12. Whats the difference between a keg and a cask? Theres no punch line, I'm really asking.
  13. Kass, I went to http://www.5rivers.org/and it said, "Please note: We are sorry to say we are not accepting any new cooperage orders for the foreseeable future". Is there another good source you can recommend?
  14. Any good sources for buying barrels and such? Are they hard to make?
  15. There isn't much written about the matter....hmmm. Not a lot written about the "Yellow Jack".
  16. Thinner patch for sure....I hit my patches with WD-40, I was told not to use that because its flammable! hahaha
  17. HildeKitten! Thats one of the pairs I bought from CA Boots on clearance for $150. "Turner" is the style the call them. I dyed them dark brown. Very comfortable indeed.
  18. The pleasure would be all mine Cheeky!! The photo of you, I love your skin coloring in that picture and I'm aspiring to have your tone. My shoe size is a 13! hmmm.
