I agree my friend! Now I have to hear about how great it was... Is going to be.... And see all the pics that I won't be in!!!! I really wanted to check out that fort and go loking for some ghosts!!! Gotta vent so here it goes!!! Since my family was planning to go to Missouri without me, I had planned to swap with one of my partners at work so she could at least spend time with her family.....Everything is set... Right!!! WRONG! Just before Thanksgiving I dislocate my shoulder.... My partner gets stuck having to take back her shift (I lose Newyears and Newyears day)... I spend Thanksgiving with a splint on me arm and eating tacos and leftover hamburger helper...... My partner say's it's alright and no hard feelings as long as I was able to rest and get some sleep..... Did I mention me and my missus have triplets plus one 6 yr old???? Did I mention the triplets are two and a half years old??? Family returns... Insanity starts and rest stops!!! I go to the doc today, where I find out that I have atleast another week at home..... Now don't get me wrong, I love spendig time with Maggie and the Monsters... But now I swear that I feel like I'm trapped at home, sick as a dog and actually wishing I was at work Originally this comming weekend, I was going to Key West for PIP.... Now I'm not only not going... But I'm laid up!!! What a waste of vacation and time....... Sorry... Had to vent!!

OK OK!! enough of the shara--sharady...The lies!! I can't live with myself anymore!!!! You see... There was no tornado!!!!! Hey Free Boot!!! As the proud parent of a six year old and three 2.5 year olds, not to mention I "Protect & Serve" for a living, it goes without saying that I am very protective of my friends and also their family!!! I believe the good Captain Sterling will also be bringing some young snotties, so they will have youngins to pal around with!! Bring em along and let em have a great time!!

I have three long coats now...One for a Gentleman, one for a midling sort and one for the "Rats"........ However, from the first time I saw it...I absolutely love my short jacket!!! Vests are for when it's too warm for a jacket and when you need pockets!! But truthfully.....A pair of stockings and your set my friend!!

Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Contacts should be made with the local news stations if they want to film. We could also do some filming of our own!! This would also allow some filming without the spectators in the background etc. But regardless... I think if we as the reenactors are allowed to enjoy ourselves, prior to the event or at night when the crowds leave, it would be that much more memorable and allow us our own "escape" without having to worry about all eyes being on us!! I'm also a firm believer that "The booze stays away, till the guns are out of play!" Crowds are gone by 4pm.. 4:30 the latest??That gives us about an hour and a half for chow and preperation....If it's nearly dark by 6:30 pm... We could go for an hour or two....(Again when the crowds are gone) Say 6pm until 8pm (maybe 9pm Saturday??) and call it quits....Then we can cut loose and BS about how much fun we had on our terms! Till the ghosts come out that is!

How about throwing it on a canvas shoulder strap?? Too American Civil War??? I'm just starting to hate carrying so much gear on my waist (curse of the Sam brown belt etc). Which is why I was leaning toward a baldric for me blade... (Til I read the thread on the PB site that is)I just want to keep things to a minimum.

I'm a second shifter by God!! I don't hack, slash, rob or burn until well into the afternoon!!! Anything earlier, I consider it over time and I expect time and a half!!! BTW: I'm also for the night time raids!!! Seriously!!! Why not have some!!! When I was a grunt, we would occasionally conduct night missions on "friendly" platoons or companies just for fun! as long as you're safe... Why not!

Ok I will have to admit this....just to be realistic... At Pike, I was exhausted... Both physically and mentally I had spent the better part of the previous month working on the bar and tentage.... While also being assigned to a mentally frustrating post at work.... When I crashed... I literally crashed!!! Though I was under the bar and in the cellar I built... The fresh air however really was great.... However, I'm wondering about the humidity in FL???

I might actually bring my Cpap machine, which not only helps but also muffles the noise.... However, I doubt real mariners would care!
