  1. (pssst... If'n ye keeps yer tankard FULL, thar be no need fer ta hang it! Capt. Bo
  2. Weeell... I been blamed fer alot o' things- some I did, an' some I didn't, others I only WISH I did!- but I believe with the help from the great crew here at the Pub, you'll have great success after the battle is fought! :) Capt. Bo
  3. Nah... I'm that dark outline that goes wherever you go in the daylight or from artificial sources, so I know E-VERY-THING!!! BWAAAHAHAHAHA! Actually, you weren't sporting a beard in yer suit photo that I could see, so I figured it was a safe bet you still don't. So, who's up for a couple of lines from BARNACLE BILL!?! Capt. Bo
  4. Well... Foxe doesn't have one at all! As my half-beard is only half-grey, then I'm only 25% qualified. What about my favorite drunken rabble rousing ballad... BARNACLE BILL THE SAILOR! What's the date on this one ? Capt. Bo
  5. Thankee Gunner! You gents have saved me alot of time googling! Well, now that's solved... Back to my outfit! Capt. Bo
  6. Mimi, If you got it in yer computer files, I recommend setting up a photobucket acct. Once LongTom showed me the right buttons to push... well, now I'm a picture-postin' fool! It is very simple to use as you'll see from Tom's instructions. I used Rumbas method of opening a file to be able to easily go back and forth. Hope to "see" ya soon! Capt. Bo
  7. My thanks to ye both! Saved me alot of time lookin it up. I was sitting here this mornin indulging in my vice, as it were, and the thought just popped in the head so I thought to ask here. Jas. Townsend used to offer a small brass cofee grinder, but I haven't seen it in the recent catalogues. Anyone know where I might find one? I think it would be a damn good period demo to use in camp, showing the public how much work was involved to make a pot of coffee in an early 18th century camp. Capt. Bo
  8. Yep... those proximity charges can be rather painful too! If you have silver or gold fill in yer teeth you'll taste it after being struck. Mid-west is thunderstorm breeding grounds, and I've survived six tornadoes, too many windstorms, floods, etc. Once while re-wiring the pump system for the pool at a Girl Scout camp by the lake, a storm came up very fast and black& low. I went out of the pump house to roll up my windows, turned around to run back inside, took three long strides when the pole beside my truck turnde to splinters. Iwas blinded and knocked to my knees, and couldn't move for what seemed like several miutes. That's how I know about the taste! I've been shocked many times in my 22yrs. as an Electrician, but that was the worst! Capt. Bo
  9. Kass, and any others that can comment, I am a coffee addict. In my frontiersman camp I always have my pot on the coals, but in the last four years I have included in my monologue the fact that coffee was a great luxury item, and most longhunters would probably not have opted to carry such with them. Also that the beans would have been purchased green, and would have been roasted and ground as needed, as pre ground coffee and percolators were not to come for a long time in the future. So... now that you folks have me ready to sign articles, whats the scoop on coffee in GAOP? (no pun intended) Capt. Bo
  10. WUFF WUFF WUFFF! Dammit man! The only time I come across stuff like that is after the fact! Ye'll be needin ta change yer name ta "LUCKY DAWG"! HAR HAR HAR You may need a powder monkey of yer very own when boardin yer next prize mate! Capt. Bo
  11. OH MY! What a great rainy day project! Thanks GoF. This will be a good thing to keep me busy when I'm stuck indoors. Capt. Bo
  12. Rumba... Hope everyone read the thank you's in my "DUMMY" thread. I wouldn't have done it without the crew! I figured out the sizing thing just awhile ago! If you have photobuckets, click on the "edit" button over the pic. you wanna size. It should give three options in the "resize" frame below the photo- 75%,50%,25%- of original photo. I took the iron work from 1200x1600 down to 25% and you can see the result. Hope this helps! You're a DOLL and I owes ya! Capt. Bo
  13. OK... think I got this figured out... lets see- OK! It's "flyin"! Enjoy folks... I'll make some more! Capt.Bo
  14. Mimi... Go to the Initiation and Pub Rites and look in the HEEELP!-PHOTO DUMMY BO thread. The crew taught me just yesterday how to do this! Today I'm learnin about sizing! :) I'm sure that the info in there can get you going. I'm new to the cyber world and they got me goin in less than a day! Good Luck! Capt. Bo
  15. Well, I'll try one more and if it's still too big, I'll call for help... OOOPS! Over done it! This is a "spyder" that folds flat. Great for coffee pot or skillet. Capt. Bo
  16. Here are a few of the small items that come off my anvil/forge. I tried re-sizing the photo, but it obviously didn't take. Guess I'll have to get some more help from the crew. :) Capt. Bo
  17. Rosie, Warren, and Capt. Dad... these are the powder monkees I inherited when I married Blondie. My oldest is wearing some of MY clothes already at 14 1/2!Sorryfor the size, haven't yet got this down to a science! I re-sized it but for some reason it won't shrink here like the other thread... oh well... Capt. Bo
  18. Capt. Bob... OUTSTANDING! :) So, how do ya walk while bein surrounded by wenches? Or do ya just stay put an' enjoy the comp'ny? Capt. Bo
  19. Daniel, No kidding!?! In Missourah? Too cool! Don't forget spring turkey season is just a couple of weeks away too! If we're not too busy around the "El Rancho Pequeno", or working for a living, hunting is what I do most! Anytime you're free we have lot's of ground to use for camping, canoeing, hunting or all of the above! Let's go! Capt. Bo
  20. But NO PICTURES!?! Seriously though, sounds like a great time too! :) The folks over in Initiation may wish they never taught me how to post photos before I'm through! Capt. Bo
  21. Truth is... we were married "officially" on a retired ministers front porch two weeks earlier. The BIG show was done at the Boone home near Defiance Mo. during their annual Pioneer Days event. I act as "booshway" for the camp and we always have plays and scenarios throughout the weekend. We just decided to make our wedding part of the entertainment. Afterwards we cooked up 150lbs. of beef and put a big dent in the two cases of wine that we bought for the camp party afterwards. The date on our certificate is the official one, but the REAL one will always be the date that Daniel Boone declared us "man and Wife"! Capt. Bo
  22. Blondiewench and Capt. Bo on our wedding day in '02. We had an 18th century wedding done byDaniel Boone at the home of his son, Nathan. Danielwas portrayed by our good friend Larry Reeves who passed away of leukemia last year.
  23. Absolutely Foxe. Pigs are "pig-headed" about givin up the ghost! :) I've seen the one offered by Jas. Townsend&Sons, but at $120 for just the head and no shaft, I'm going to fashion my own even if I have to "cheat" and use my Mig-welder and oxy-acetelyne torch to get it done! I'll be using a 12ga with slugs for this outing, as I've never gone after feral hogs before. Once I know more about it I'll try the period method of musket and pike.( I'll back up with my trusty ol'.45 acp!) I'll let ya'll know how it turns out. Capt. Bo
  24. I'm kinda leary about eggs in microwaves... Kinda like dryin out Grammas poodle... :) BOOM! Seriously though, yeah that's a great bachelor/ single parent trick, and here's another: Grilled cheese sandwich without all the mess: Toast two pieces of bread Butter if you like, on one side. add 1 or 2 slices of cheese to the buttered side, cover with other slice of bread, buttered side down on cheese. Nuke for 15 seconds and you're done! Ahh the amazing advents of living simple in a complicated world! Capt. Bo
  25. It will indeed be a pleasure to meet these pyrates. My musket's in the air to fire again to your endeavors! Capt. Bo
