  1. Welcome Lady, to the pub. Although they be pyrates, there be many a fine lass and lad here abouts.
  2. Dinner had gone well. Introductions were made regarding the Archangel’s new surgeon, Dr. Reiley. Symms, and the Marches were all equally thankful to see Sterling back amongst them none too worse for wear. As Lilly and Skittles settled into quiet conversation amongst themselves, Reiley and Symms went to the bar for ales and the Captain and first officer fell into reporting the current condition of the ‘Angel and to her repairs. With the meal past, and most in attendance weary from worry and lack of sleep, the brief burst of excitement of having found lost captain, only lasted for so long. It did not take the usual time before Sterling and March were both well into their cups and Skittles, the ever present voice of reason, declared it time to retire. Reiley, still in need of lodgings, made his way home, assisting Mistress March with the steering of her husband whilst Mr. Symms supported an equally unsteady master. Lilly did her best to assist as well but was rewarded with finding Mr. Jones, gunner’s mate, awaiting her removal to her new rooms for safe keeping , his watch being the first. Symms was all to happy to see her locked in her rooms, her evil look reserved for the old steward actually made for him, the perfect end to a perfect day. Sterling, exhausted and drunk, was allowed to fall into bed, Symms seeing to his comfort as best he could. On the morrow, Sterling would be ill again, although this time due to drink not mosquitoes….
  3. There is another thread about where pyrates stowed their weapons in which we touch on this. Short answer is that it is generally thought that pyrates were in charge of their own weapons and therefore had either what they wanted and could purchase or whatever they could get during a raid. If the target was a military ship, the armaments taken would likely be all the same. Then the next time the target could be a ship loaded with trade goods including swords, perhaps some intended for the upper crust. This is, of course, speculative. The question is best answered by examining those swords found on extant wrecks and in inventories. And over to Captain Twill we go... Thanks over to TWill
  4. I'll be there with the Sarah, two middies and Oi Habibi, have another recruit for the coffee house!! Nelly's an orphan but wants to work although you may have to beat her occasionally or she'll be off running about London with Sarah! The rest of the crewe, new kit or not, will be at a wedding out west...
  5. Ha, Habibi, you have to wait until RF2! Unless you can swing a road trip over Sept2-4....
  6. Dear Lill remember WHO you are when ye post! and Like I said one tis all it takes! Two no matter what size and the tents will be let up like a Nuclear blast.... thank goodness ye weren't camping I would have been able to see the candles flickering all the way in Virginia!

  11. [/img] Here is our ship's cutter - Rateye! It was wonderful meeting up with you Cap'n Pete! Hummm... Looks suspiciously like someone I've run into in Port Royal. 'Cept there he goes by the name Reilly. Yes tis the good doctor Reiley indeed...
  12. Hey tis all politically correct hype... soon you won't be able to carry a sword period....
  13. Ah but pyrate or not, where would we all be without Mom! Hope her day was grand!
  14. Okay gents... know someone who made blades for Rev War about twenty years ago... now he wants to get back into it as a business... a stickler for historical accuracy and detail... NOW the thing is... making one sword at a time, means BIG bucks... now if there were a certain style that was very common that would be carried by a number of folks that reduces the cost per sword...Ie lots of ten swords cost less per sword then a one of a kind.... question is... what would you all think would be the sword you want... these would be battle ready repros, not something you could switch for a fencing style blade... He wants to know what you would want, instead of him just picking out something on his own.... Thanks for any feedback. Hector PS... historical question...in most cases, say on a privateer ship, would individuals be responsible for their weapons or could a ship's investors say by swords by the dozens and supply their ships? so that one crew might actually have the same style??
  15. Oh Cap'n Pete.... REALLY Looking forward to whatever Blackmail prints you have... especially of Cheeks!!!! Dearest Captain.... There are no BLACKMAIL photographs of myself. Oh Cap'n Pete...do tell him that I was a 'good girl'! But Cap'n Pete, you did miss a bit of banter with the whores around 6 pm at the Turkey Leg booth. Very witty indeed! Then there was the bit (or should I say bite) something about the importance in "the way a lady holds the meat as she bites it"??? And they did say the itch had gone away! Ah the wonders of modern medicine! some things never change...
  16. Yes Lady, I would like to see those as well....
  17. Aye I would have loved to have been there but then Cheeks wouldn't have been so "entertaining" **sigh** Actresses! 4th does sound tempting....
  18. I cannot hook my camera directly to the computer, so I went to the One Hour Photo place... in addition to the prints I want, they dumped my entire photo card onto a CD... making it possible to upload them to my Photobucket account. I need to go pick it up, but that means some of my pix will be posted soon... I think Cheeky Actress got better ones. Oh Cap'n Pete.... REALLY Looking forward to whatever Blackmail prints you have... especially of Cheeks!!!!

Just so we're clear... that Letter of Marque is an extra I made specifically to show & give to Rateye... although it bears the name "Sterling." ...Captain Sterling, sounds like ye need to keep your quarters under better lock & key, eh? I cannot hook my camera directly to the computer, so I went to the One Hour Photo place... in addition to the prints I want, they dumped my entire photo card onto a CD... making it possible to upload them to my Photobucket account. I need to go pick it up, but that means some of my pix will be posted soon... I think Cheeky Actress got better ones. **Sigh** can't trust the Actress, can't trust the surgeon now I see... Hopefully there is still Skittles...or at least Little Liz, I can tempt her with a duck
