  1. The 90s was a long time ago. It's a different world now it seems. Or maybe that's just me. hehe
  2. Teeny outfits? You mean sexy tops and mini skirts? I'm not that kind of girl. My clothing style is a bit more classical. I'm too modest to show a lot of skin. I wore a bikini once. Never felt that uncomfortable in my life.
  3. I like that disco music/clothing stuff. I like to dress like a hippie/gypsy. Flower power! That's the 60s though, isn't it? Oh well, cool nevertheless. Even I can get cranky about the way things are compared to 10 or 8 years ago. And I'm not even 20 yet. The world is changing every day. And I don't like most of the changes I see. Sometimes, I wish I lived a few centuries ago when men were still well-mannered. Most are so rude nowadays. And all they care about is partying and drinking beer. I mean young men of course. It sure wasn't like that back then. It wouldn't have been considered respectable. Or perhaps I've seen too many historical romance films. But yes, men are horrible nowadays. I've been called a whore once in traffic! I was upset all day long.
  4. Really? -feels stupid- I had no idea. It looked real to me.
  5. I've never heard someone your age say kewl. Not that you're old of course! But someone older than 25. If I get that job I told you about in my PM, I'll be able to pay for my own fencing lessons. Which is good. Otherwise, I won't be able to go at all.
  6. The thing is, it's pretty expensive and I'm not sure if we can afford it. I'll have to pay some of it I think. They're at work now but we'll talk about it later. I'm also planning to go to the UK next month. A week holiday with my best friend. I'm buying the plane tickets today.
  7. Sounds great. Dancing isn't that popular here yet. But we had Dancing with the Stars recently and it was a big hit. We even had a New Year edition with new celebs. I do think it helped make dance more popular. I might start taking fencing lessons soon. I'm discussing it with my parents.
  8. Wowww I was too. We were still living in SC and right after they dropped the ball in NYC, I started Salsa-ing around our apartment. hehe. That's funny. What did your family think of you salsa-ing like that? Or was no one around? Fun they showed Amsterdam. Never celebrated the new year in the city though so I'm sure that's quite different. More fireworks, more people, etc.
  9. Didn't see that. Sounds spectacular. I remember, I was dancing as the clock stroke midnight in 2000. It seemed fun to dance into the new millenium.
  10. Same here. I just watched it on television. Looked awesome. Pillaging the bowling alley? Sounds like fun.
  11. Aye a bit far from me. Same here. Several continents too far for me. Happy new year everyone who reads this topic. Hope you had a good time and enjoyed the fireworks. The fireworks in London especially were spectacular.
  12. Casanova stars Heath Ledger and Sienna Miller. And I really want to see it! So does my family and our family friend who always takes us to the cinema. So maybe we'll go in a few weeks. Would be great. I never saw the original or 1976 version of King Kong. But I really felt for Kong in the 2005 version. It was really sad when he died. I think everyone was moved.
  13. Mr. Bean is hilarious. I saw Bean the Movie in the cinema. Really cracked me up. I'm going to Rowan Atkinson's new film soon. There's a lot of snow here so we might not go tonight (as planned). According to the weather forecast it was best to stay inside. So we might reschedule. We'll see. I'm looking forward to seeing the film. I love going to the cinema. We saw Narnia last week. It was pretty good. My favourite film this year is King Kong though. It made me cry. I'm such a sissy. That ape died and I got all sentimental.
  14. I already skimmed the post. Saw it a few minutes ago. Thanks for the tip though.
  15. The only one I actually know is North and South, which I've seen. A few episodes anyway. I tend to forget about series. We also own a few on DVD. Like the Onedin Line. Ever heard of it? The music is very famous. Or the series about the Forsyte family. Also quite good. I also enjoy British comedy series though. Like Are you Being Served or Keeping Up Appearances. Dunno if they air those in the US though. Many series about politics you had over there! I know little about American presidents.
  16. Yes, I saw it. It's one of those must-see films, isn't it? Great soundtrack indeed.
  17. Wooden eye? You mean that pirate whose eye keeps popping out? It's real. We should talk about the Libertine again though. We're getting off-topic.
  18. I know. Jenny hasn't even seen it yet. Didn't even know she owned the film. I had to remind her. She's going to watch it though. I bet the undead pirates will scare her. She's such a sissy. :)
  19. Life's good. White indeed. Looks lovely. Not that cold. Then again, I'm inside. And wearing my aunt Christha's sweater too.
  20. I don't think I've ever actually seen Rob Roy. Perhaps I should sometime. I'm sure Liam Neeson was good in it. He's a very good actor.
  21. That pirate girl reminds me of Anne Bonny. And I did an English presentation about her so I don't mind that.
  22. An awesome Guinevere? Her battle outfit was ridiculous. I also hated the way her relationship with Arthur revolved around lust rather than love. It made their marriage sudden and silly. Plus, her posh British accent didn't suit the role at all. She portrayed a Woad princess after all. But she sure didn't act like one.
  23. Really cute pic. I prefer his more mature look however. He looked great in From Hell, Sleepy Hollow, Finding Neverland. Also really hot in Don Juan de Marco.
  24. Dances with Wolves was good. I watched it when I was young. Braveheart is good too. Sad though he dies at the end. I prefer happy endings. Awesome soundtrack though. What did you think of King Arthur? I know many hated it. I didn't. Just Keira Knightley's "performance" as Guinevere.
  25. I know Jason is a nice guy. My mom met him at the Harry Potter 2 premiere. He was very chatty and friendly. Brits are often nice guys compared to American actors. And he's a great actor, yes. Loved him in Peter Pan too. Awesome costumes too. Sometimes, the villain is more likeble than the hero. I liked the Sheriff of Nottingham more than Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. I wanted to hit Marian on the head with a frozen beaver. Forget that tosser. Go for the Sheriff! He's so much more interesting (and naughty). I loved Alan Rickman's portrayal of that character. Kevin Kostner sucked in that film. American accent too. Bleh.
