  4. OK here is some additional info. It took me a minute to remember the another version of the name. Alwinda is known more widely as Alvilda, Alwilda, Alfhild or Alvild. She first appears in Saxo Grammaticus' book "the History of the Danes". So she is likely historic, but is so far back in history that the exact circumstances may have been exaggerated through verbal storytelling. So you've kinda got a legend based on an actual person. Here is a link to History of the Danes, with the different places that Alfhild appears: Alfhild in Danish History Here is a nice little summary, since Saxo Grammaticus, although interesting, is a tough read: Alwinda
  5. Alwinda was a viking princess who refused to accept a marriage of convenience, planned by her father, and fled with a group of women from her town. They became pirates and plundered on the Baltic Sea. I don't know if she is an actual historic person or a legend.

  8. SEE PREVIOUS POST FIRST FOR MORE PHOTOS Captain Jack leaves the stage in the care of his swordsmen, who soon break into a fight! Introducing the next act Olga the rope dancer and others perform... As Ace pastes a smile on his face as he introduces each act... Mary Ellen, who wants to be a pirate, gets put into the blade box to test her courage!! ...and emerges a true pirate!! She then snitches on the crew of the Royaliste and reveals a conspiracy plot surrounding a mysterious, 200 year old privateering document- Which turns out to be a surprise gift for the Captain!!
  9. Privateer Pete as "Derek Newcastle" a snooty MC who describes to the audience the evenings entertainment- poetry readings, morality plays and a violin performance by Mary Ellen Lipnicky. Poison Quill as "Mary Ellen Lipnicky", squeaking out a horrific version of "Ode to Joy" as the pirates boo, shout insults and heckle her from the audience! Ace of Harbor Bay as Captain Jack Sparrrrow, arrives just in time to save the audience from a fate worse than death! (Mary Ellen & her violin!) Pirates storm the stage and commandeer the show!!
