  1. Ahoy mates. WIsh ye luck, ye might ask http://TalesoftheSevenSeas.com fer some start up advice, talk wif' me on keelhaulin' the crew...
  2. :) Interesting thoughts, mates....All well taken in thought and deed. But, an arse is an arse, whether he dresses proper, or not....So, line them 'Nazis' up...I hate Natzies! Loading Starboard batteries........ Also, out of character, thank you all for your continued support and love of the Tallship Royaliste,'tis afterall, your Ship...Gary
  3. I'm just droppin' in, and heard the word, 'fight'. Perked me ears right up. If'n ye be a threaten'n these fine Lasses, there's a pair 'o me deck guns coverin' their backsides.......
  4. :) Now ye have the pedigree, head shrinking to follow....smiling at the lass...
  5. Proper response, shipmate. Finally dug alla the shrapnel outta me face, and them properly named an 'seasoned ' gunnades are clean and ready to go again!
  6. Yeah, but when your powder's wet, it doesn't matter wot century, it's still the same sea, mate! Reenacting removes Hollywood 'myths' fast:
  7. I see. Tops'l yard is 15 feet over my head in that photo, you can just make out the tip of the sail leech (white) over me 'ead,...
  8. Not sure which photo, witch. But, most likely, 'the main course squaresail yardarm, shortened to ''main yard'....when you hear 'em say 'to the Braces'.... means reeving the taykles that turn the yards port to starboard to trim the square..
  9. Not to be a stickler, but under siege in a boarding, 'value' is not placed on weapons, only victory at any cost. Fire and throw down, hack and fire, holding fast. No time to be sentimental about one's sidearms. A bit more romance than I can stand. I find that even when reenacting, in the height of a sea battle, guns are being thrown down, misfires, wet powder, spent rounds, etc.....
  10. Ah, but the Pyrate only recognises his Viking Ancestry, explaining his Seadog nature more to his liking....burying his mothers Scots/ Irish blood until called upon..
  11. Aw, they be soft and supple rope, not old halliards, and the arms are on a Viking/Scot Rouge Sea Captain...Strong enough to hold you anywhere onboard......a Pyrate..
  12. So, lass. Save a Pyrate a bit 'o time, as I hafta keep me own ship sailin', is the a real ship? Or one 'o the cyber ones wot seem to sail these waters, if'n ye please.....
  13. Some of his early War stuff's pretty cool. The ship he was first using in Tripoli against the pirates was a local prize, a square topsl ketch, the Intrepid....very smart seamanship...
  14. :) Amen, pass me another cannon ball, M'suir..
  15. We'll see, lass... Shouldn't give up the element of suprise, but I'm the Pyrate Captain here....The 'Chieftains weighed in on arrival day,so, the real action starts the 29th outside the "Gate, with the Royaliste's superior sailin' ability placin' her between BOTH ships, now that we are superior in firepower also, 'Hold Fast' continuous double broadsides....May call some Rogers Rangers to handle the gun batteries, no wenches learnin,....Pure Hell......, but we'll get 'em the other days, too ......... BE WARNED! ..any o' me battle plans wind up in the ears 'o the enemy, I'll be rollin' heads from here to Tortuga.. .....'stop shootin' holes in me ship!....
  16. :) When the nights start gettin too long, c'mon down and grab a plane...
  17. I told alla ya that when I said I wuzn't sailin south, cuz the targets are all comin' here.....to meet Davey Jones....
  18. Nice pic, Darkmalkin.....I got me best coil 'o rope waitin' on ye, Bess.... .....and remember, scallywags, anybody can ride a tallship, just pay 'em....but ye hafta be a Pyrate to sail on the Royaliste...and you can't buy that wif' doubloons...
  19. I ani't stealin' yer thread, Weaver, but any of ye on the Northern California coast needin a good wall hangin' photo, I'm sailin' tomorrow upcoast heavily shelling everything to prooftest my new cannons...more gunpowder and smoke than POTC, by Neptunes Trident.....
