  1. Thank you! And now for a musical interlude http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3dV1myAW2Cs [/CODE]. Hmmm. I used to know how to link to a word in the text...seems I have forgotten that skill...
  2. Aye, I only see the hand. I was truly looking forward to viewing her...ah...table. Yeah, the table. Also, to be sure, I've been using slow-match kept in my striker kit to light my pipe for years now. I couldn't find any references for doing so, it just seemed right. Now we know. I also have several "spunks" or sulfur matches, some of pitch pine and others of cedar, for lighting candles.
  3. At FTPI I was jealous of Iron Jon's wine bucket, as I didn't have one to put my Chardonnay in. Even in a careening camp such niceties could be had from aboard ship, especially since Captain Southard is always away. So I found this at one of my local Goodwill stores while looking for pewter, small jars and cast iron. Solid brass, $10, marked down from $20:
  4. Great captions, dear Surgeon. Exactly the sort of thing I had in mind. Wah...Wah...Waaaaahhhh...
  5. Reputation? What reputation? The only reputation you had was a colored one, to be sure.
  6. Would you let these two aboard your ship? Do you think it would still be your ship at the end of the day?
  7. Setup, Thursday. Is that pile o' junk really going to be a camp? The all-important map. Scarlett, growling yet again. The plan, coming together. Nice flag.
  8. That's the overboard hat, center in the second picture. I believe she's with the Atlanta Pirate and Wenches Guild. And, yes, it looks like my publicist has been busy.
  9. OMG! You've got me in civilian clothes! My cover is blown!
  10. It'll be called the Iron Jon Hotel.
  11. Possible, hadn't thought of that. Make a damn big footprint, though. Bales, AKA hidden sleeping mattress. That coral keeps getting harder every year. I could make a few buckets and barrels for sale here in the shop, help "stave" off poverty.
  12. I'm in. Tent, single Oar House this time (much more interesting visually; may add an awning out front). I will also endeavor to bring along family this time. Too early to tell right now. Also planning to make rope-bound blocks as a demonstration and sell them to defray costs. Now I must make more boxes and crates to hide all my civilian stuff in the open tent. And a period guitar case. And a period banjo and case/bag for it, too. And kit for a family of five. New kit for me. Finish the new pistol and case. Little boxes/jars for spices, oil and other cooking stuff. Damn, I'm behind already.
  13. Happy Birthday, ye olde scallywag. So busy I forgot to organize the December Pyrate's into some sort of picture/dinner/toast. Things to do next year.
  14. Thank'ee. Full moon, no one in sight. The only time the encampment was like that.
  15. And this would be why everyone suddenly left the Fort...
  16. A mammoth gun to be sure...I still think you should call it the Cannibuss: you gotta be high to shoot it.
  17. Drinking and carousing? All sails up in a stiff breeze (note the angle of heel) half are drinking, half are fighting and half are doing both (don't question my math...). The most bizzare scene I've ever seen.
  18. And the Cannibal Chrispy Cannon-Buss...or is that a BlunderCannon? Blundannon? No! It's the Cannibuss!
  19. Lucked into a Goodwill at just the right time. Got a redware bowl, two Shirley of Williamsburg plates, three each goblets and mugs and a five-cup cast iron pot (can you say stew for one?) all for $30. You'll probably see that pot and some of the other stuff at FTPI in LESS THAN A WEEK! Oh, sorry about the outburst. Anybody out there got a 6.5 inch iron or copper lid I can beg, barter or steal? If not then I'll probably hammer out a domed iron one after the first of the year.
  20. Quite so...dammit, I did it again...
  21. Just for the record, "Yer Lordship" was, and is, quite often used in a sarcastic manner, to point out that someone (I won't say who) is putting on airs. Now to say that someone is a Pyrate "hunter" is one thing. To say that someone is a pyrate "catcher" is quite another. (It seems that I am using the word "quite" quite often tonight. I have no idea why. I shall quit(e) now.)
