  1. Aye, you do want to be careful of the SCA type boots, I don’t think they really have any association with the SCA and besides zippers they might have plastic soles that aren't always kind to the feet. I had to return mine and then spent to much money on ones that be hand- made and I can wear every if I want to.
  2. Aye Captain Flint, We will be needing a place to crash thankyou. If you be having a dirt or grass backyard, we can pitch a modern tent. . .
  3. Aye, I have to agree with Captain William, it be much easier to find folk that say that they be interested and wanting to commit, but finding ones that actually do and follow through and show be the more difficult task. You could try joining a pirate group in your area first, then maybe spin off into a second group with those that you be finding an affinity with. Or maybe hook up with your local college student union and troll for members in one of the gay alliances. . . I now this has got to suck for you and probably isn’t what ya want, but I’m not sure that the popularity of being part of a locally organized pirate group is sufficient enough to have such a specialized focus. I just don’t think we’ve got the numbers, gay or straight.
  4. Arr, does that be the old fort by the airport?
  5. Aye El Pirata, the faded look works well for ya, very cool. What is the coat made out of?
  6. Aye, our tent be a modern one. . . Kmart special a few years back, never been taken out and actually used. As far the 5 in our boarding party, only two of them be proper adult types. And arrr, I don't really know what I'm talking about, I've only skimmed the site and not sure of the details. From what I gathered, someone does need to call ahead to claim a string of sites for the larger party. Then someone from each group needs to make-confirm there own reservation associated with the larger party. Or maybe I'm just assuming that's how it works. . . Anyway, does that be making sense? So how many (groups) of us are going? Paisley Zorg Captian William and the Pyrate Queen Stinky So that be 4 sites needed? Does there be anyone else?
  7. Aye, there be a group of 5 us planning on tent camping at the moment. 3 spaces in a row with fire pit(s) would be the way to go! ( At least a fire pit on one of the sites) Do we want to commit on spaces 117, 119, 120? And for how many - what days? On the web site, they made it clear that each of us need to call in our won reservations, make deposits. Paisley, what are you doing with yer pug-dawg?
  8. Ouch The Leather Factory web site hates me. . . or me Mozilla web browser anyways. It must be designed with just Microsoft users only in mind, me Microsoft Exploiter browser just loads and navigates the site fine. It’s a great site by the way. Oh here’s a simple pattern I’m using far the pouch I be working on.
  9. Wow, great work Selestia! Thanks for including the related lodging web links.
  10. Arr, has anyone done the foot work for camping near the Hampton event?
  11. Hey Black Deacon, Great template - pouch pattern! Thanks for sharing it with us.
  12. Haha, I'm actually sewing (or going to be) for me daughter's cheap suede Walmart boots. Plus I'm making suede pouch meself out of what is left. It's pretty thin Tandy Leather type stuff though, bought it at the local craft store. For the pouch, I don't expect it to last very long, just something to go with me costume that holds me real world wallet while at faire ot festival. Anyway, I would love to see how the stuff you make turns out.
  13. Haha I know, we're back to snow fluries today.
  14. Great photos Paisley! Thanks far sharing. Do ya 'ave any images of you and yar boarding party?
  15. Aye, we plan on attending again this year ourselves. We had a great time last year.
  16. Ahoy Captain William, Did you be taking pictures by any cahance? And did you meet up with any of your shipmates from Pyracy Pub?
  17. Arr Paisley, We be panning to attend at Morehead this year and your research on campsite accommodations be making it a lot more likely. Thanks for doing the foot work.
  18. Aye, that's all that some of us need. . . an excuse to visit Key West.
  19. Ahoy, the 27th of March be a fine time for us as well, I thinks. But in any case, congratulations to Katy, you and yours on your recent acquisition of yer new ship!
  20. Ahoy there Matey, Do mind sharing with us the time & date? a URL maybe
  21. Haha El Pirata, I'm glad that you like the posts and found them useful! Another great thing about trying out ideas on cheap hats, you're not so nervous about the pulling and stretching you need to do to work them into shape, I've actually ripped a couple hat blanks apart. Luckily it was just the brim and I was able to turn it into a derby. Surprisingly though, even the ones that don't quite come out looking the way ya might want can look acceptable when going for the grungy pirate look, flaws and tears can add a lot of character. Now once you've made some hats, you'll have to share some pictures of them with us.
  22. 'appy, 'appy 15th Beerthday there Jim. . . (berp)
