  1. Here's a few places that I ‘ave bookmarked in me web browser. Except for good ol’ Tobacco Meg at Center Stage Costume, I 'aven't purchased anything from these other venders and can’t say one way or the other about them. But I do enjoy a good internet window shop from time to time. Stynky's Bookmarks of Shoes & Boots: Center Stage Costumes http://www.centerstagecostumes.com/ (home) http://www.centerstagecostumes.com/Catalog...g/FrameCAT2.htm http://www.centerstagecostumes.com/Catalog...ts.htm#Cavalier (fine pirate & musketeer type buckets) Silvermane http://www.silvermane.com/ (home) http://www.silvermane.com/leather.html http://www.silvermane.com/MR/MR-8252.html (more fine pirate & musketeer type buckets) Dreamshoes http://www.dreamshoes.com/ (home) http://www.dreamshoes.com/shoes.html SodHoppers http://www.sodhoppers.com/ (home) As for the renboots and scaboots people, I can’t say that I've had a good experience with them. To there credit though, in the end I wasn’t happy or satisfied with what they be peddling and they credited me card after the return of said merchandise.
  2. Ahoy there Master Zephyr, Do you have and thumbnails you can show us of what you be 'aving in mind layout and design wise? As fer the ship, assuming that you be wanting to go fer something clean and simple that makes good black and white source art for silk screening, you might want to try looking in to some of the Dover collection of copyright free engravings. They make nice Xerox straight to clear film to burn a screen or scan right into the computer. With a little touch up in Photoshop or Illustrator and depending on how large you be needing it, either output at home or at the local print shop. And what kind of name be Zephyr?
  3. Arr though this probably best be talked about in it's own thread. I be looking around at baldrics fer some time now and have been coming to the conclusion to try making me own. Likely easier said than done, for the average price of a no frills baldric,I think they be running around $70. For that I can buy enough bulk leather, already cut into straps to make a half dozen or so baldrics or bandoliers. Of course after adding buckles, the time hand sewing, the time spent doing this and that, blah, blah, blah. I'm not sure there would be much profit in it even to sell them. And what kind of pirate life is that with out profit?
  4. Arr, I really be liking the Disney version of Treasure Island to get me pirate groov on. Especial the way Robert Newton be talking, he just be stealing the show now don't he.?. With old Robert as Captain, it just be way over the top with all sort of pirate talk, with "Avast there matey" and "Belay that", "Jim be smart as paint". It be a lot of fun and sometimes I just have it play in the background while be on the computer or be getting ready for a faire or event. I got me copy some time ago at Costco on clearance, $10-$12 on DVD I thinks. http://disneyvideos.disney.go.com/moviefin...ts/3015703.html
  5. Ahoy there Lady (burp) Clair Quill poIson (burp) ANd a bery bery ‘appy 'appy (burp) Beerfday to ya Lasssh We be celebrating (burp) fer ya... Say when did dumbo turn pink
  6. Ahoy there Piratelass & Scupper, Did either of you make it ot Maryland for Pirate Invasion!? Or did Izzy get in yer way?
  7. Ahoy there Cushy Bottoms, What a great Costume, a feast fer the eyes! I spent way to much time just on the other side of you, or over the buildings and shops across from or where your picture was taken. Me kid duties had me either by the fantasy Armor stall (where Capt. Flint found me) or in the Food Court, the White Heart Tavern was sort of in the middle of that somewhere. I pretty much looked like me avatar I think...or is that to small to see?
  8. Arr there Cheryl, now don’t be mad It was a bit of effort for us this time around, 2 or 3 + hours of driving doesn’t usually phase us so much. But with the storm, the extra guests we brought along with us plus the hotel we booked not ‘aving power, I think I’m still needing some time fer recovering. We had a grand time and will go again next year for sure! I’m just not sure that we are going to be able to swing anymore events for awhile. And don’t you mind about being early with Hallarween, it be right around the corner and not to early to setup for. Congratulations for your wee one's soon to be Burfday! If you do happen to get together with Flint, Katey and their wee one, tell'em hi from the Stynky Clan. Sorry to have missed you at the faire.
  9. Arr and Cushy Bottoms, I can't believe that you actually made it to the faire and then not be seen by any of us! I know that I thought that we would find each other once we made it ta shore, didn’t figure how long it take fer us to row in without a proper navigator or just how large the gathering would be. Thanks to Capt. Flint's eagle eye, he spotted Pirate Molly's hat and recognized one of our shipmates from a far.
  10. Mad Woman Cheryl & Lady Paisley, I'm so upset that I missed seeing the two of you and yer shipmates After not being able leave or sneak or wee pups into the Best Western, like we 'ave so many times before. We were able to lodge them just down the road from the event, that is once we found it. Say was there anyone else from Pyracy Pub that stayed at the Capital Beltway Best Western in Lanham for the event? Just before we left, a look down into the parking lot we spotted some fellow pirates loading up and sailing away. Just wondering if they be one of us.?.
  11. Arr I was struck stupid that day, must have been fair Katey's eyes, or maybe thats how I alway be. . . Had me enchanted spyglass wit me, but never did make use of it.
  12. Darr, I should be paying more attention to these things. . . 'Appy, 'appy, appy (burp) belated Beerfday to ya Captain Weaver I wish ye (belch) well, you naughty, naughty, naughty pirate you.
  13. Ahoy and sorry for the tardy reply mates, tis been a while since I visited this thread and didn't realize that it be going on with out me. Coastie04, I like yer idea about the cannon. I've been thinking of something like that as well, not quite sure how to do it exactly and keep it clever. Same with the pissing contest emoticon idea McCrumb, just haven't had the time to work it out just yet. Thanks again fer all the kind words, feel free to send or me more ideas. I'll get to making more when I can get around to it.
  14. Arr fer you European Scallywags, what would be a good general chat time fer you then How many time zones would that have to cover
  15. Except fer not meeting as many people from the board as I had hoped, our wee boarding party of six made it ashore to Maryland safely and had a fantastic time at Pirate Invasion! Though Capt. Flint assured me that because of ‘Urricane Izzy, that only about half the usual turn out had shown up this time around, there were pirate rogues and wenches as far as the spyglass could see in all directions, more than enough to start a full scale campaign. And arr I must commend Capt. Flint & Katey O'Tierney on their huge selfless effort trying to organize all of us pirate weirdo, I mean pirate enthusiast types to meet up. It was a hard job that was made difficult by people like meself that wouldn’t stay put in one place long enough or show up at agreed times or places… Now that I be knowing where everything is, I promise to be on time next year. The evening spent aboard Katey & Flint’s vessel was pure delight. Lots of food and drink, drink and food, sword fighting and then more of the same. Both Flint and Hawkyns spared on deck with all manner of weapons as the wee children picked oakum at their feet. After one of the men received a rather nasty gash, (I’ve been sworn to secrecy, under penalty of death, never to reveal the name of the one who be wounded that night) George put an end to it, discharged ‘er firearm and called fer dinner. All manner of feast had been prepared, breads and puddings, meats and desserts, hard drink and soft beverage, it twas glorious, the “loaf of meat” were me favorite. Then after the feast we danced and sang pirate songs way into the night and on intol the early morning hours. As things got a little blurry for me, I remember Fair Katey at some point leading everyone in some sort of ancient mystical ritual jig that seemed to bend or warp time about the ship, rather hard to explain really. It was all very odd and by the time I knew what be happening, me boarding party and I were being lowered by long boat, asked to leave and being escorted back to shore. Pirate Molly blamed me right away for acepting the hospitality offered that I accepted of chocolate ice cream ( me favorite) and on account that I be lactose intolerant...and well that made us unwelcome. I be telling Molly that it be 'er fault, she was throwing pieces of Flint & Katey’s furniture over the side and yelling, “Man Over Board!” When everyone would run to the side to investigate the heard splash, she would run to the table and finish the drinks that be sitting around. Ya know, just fer fun. (sigh) A Pyrate's life fer me . . . Though darling Kate I can't recall the color of your beauteous eyes, both you and Capt. Flint be marvelously fine hosts! Thanks again for all of your hard work, hospitality and effort to get all of us from the Pyracy Pub together, even with Izzy getting in the way. It was a pleasure making your acquaintance and putting a real face to the internet personas.
  16. Ahoy there Mister Lasseter, tis unfortunate that we not be seeing you at the faire this time around. Give the Royaliste & Crew what for, from all us who 'ave survived hurricane Izzy on this side.
  17. Arr quoted from one of Capt. Flint's earlier posts... So, after the am cannons go off, everyone meet up at the top of the hour at the Blacksmith Shop. Then sometime around or after lunch wander over to the White Heart Tavern. And If you still haven't met up with any Pyrate board types, at least try hooking up with Flint at the Shakespeares Skum Show. 1) Blacksmith Shop 2) White Heart Tavern 3) Shakespeares Skum Show I hope to see everyone there
  18. So how many of us still planning on going I am, we are and our group has grown by two, there be six of us now
  19. Ahoy there and Happy Burthday to ya Molly, ya crazy, lusty, good looking pirate wench yew
  20. Arr an a big 'Appy Beerthday for our Dear Jarmacia Rose
  21. Lady Isabel...who's gonna fair 'er wrath? Paisley, sorry to leach your topic title and duplicate the concern from your post and conversation with O'Malley about Isabel and the Maryland Pirate Invasion, but I think it applies to anyone planning to attend this event. Does anyone know what's likely to happen if Isabel touches land around the Carolinas and works her way up the coast? I assume it's all going to be over before the week-end. But then again, I haven't been living on the East Coast that long. I know, I'm showing my ignorance here.
  22. Any speculation on what the chances are of it blowing over-out before the week's end or if the Maryland event is going to happen Saturday?
