aye just linnen or canvas petticoat pants are probably the best choice not bad even wet i have gone swimming in mine several times .... foxe- wrap pants are a fantasy version of slops they have no side seams the back and front both tie at the waist like a baby's nappie and then then to bottoms are tied or tucked into the boots sort of a pair of male stripper pirate pants
-
rummy lass my hat's off to ye ....i'd be wishing my barque had a figurehead that looked like you .....i'd seldom ever come into port :)
-
aye lad perhaps you should try the theatre department at virginia commonwealth universtiy there in richmond .... they should at least be able to put you in touch with a stage combat director ....it might be a good place to start locally
-
great looking rogues gallery here's one of the ol' salt himself
-
lad rather than a fencing school you should be looking for a theatre school that teaches stage combat they have experts who's job it is to teach you safe ways of making fights look as real as possible and techniques to keep you and your fight partner from too many trips to the er ....but alas accidents still happen so make sure you have good insurance
-
some good stuff there lass perhaps there should be a seperate gallery on here for pirate themed artwork .....hint-hint
-

i did email the lad about his query .....waitng to hear back from my friend about what else he might have available what can you tell me about the ndgw you mentioned
-
what cani say but i was addicted to errol flynn movies as a lad ... and always wanted to be him in almost everything i ever saw him in that's why i got into acting and took 6 years of fencing class .......but alas hollywood wasn't interested in a scruffy scots with a thick brogue so over the years i just have kept accumulating more sharp pokey bits and lots of glorious noisemakers
-
well as some of you might have guessed or seen i have spent a small fortune on my weaponry but quality will out ...over the years working as an actor at faires and doing theatre i have had a clause in my contracts that any costumes made for me in period garb is part of my payment...and i have a rather substantial under carriage and since most places don't stock or have access to larger sized boots i have also invested in several pairs of period boots and have made moccasins for my colonial/rendevous kit as for accessories i have found excellent things in thrift shops and rumage/yard sales pewter mugs for example for as little as $.50 leather belts and bags for as little as $.25 and traded for a lot of other things and purchased and sold stuff to get better lot prices( buy 6 and sell 4) and since i have been doing this for a long time i have amassed a rather substantial collection and my house looks like an period manor house inside with all the kit i can use for now ...but always look for bargains!!!
-
aye lad i be looking for a few scabbatds for various daggers and a few swords let me know your prices and turn around either on here or pm me
-
sure looks like the one i have for sale ...barrel's 18 inches long and brass
-
not sure the manufacturer i got them second hand from a fellow who collected ...they are definately repros and they appear to be the same as ones i have purchased from loyalist in the past sound and have been proofed with unballed double loads
-
perhaps like a few swords i picked up never look the gift horse in the mouth it might have been part of the contents of a house that was emptied in an estate and just cleared at whatever they thought it might bring in ready $
-
very pretty bauble lass .......yes i have gotten a few great buys at flea markets and yard sales and even on ebay if you can belive that ... may you find more finds like that
