Finding a used tent is not always easy or timely ...it happens at random ....good luck with it!!!

You looked real good Reggie especially once you got your new shoes ...weapons can come in time ( a good knife & perhaps a boarding ax would make a fine start) ...nobody is going to fault you at this point for a cotton checked shirt, the overall impression is quite good ....now you need to toughen up your attitude to be a bit more fearsome :o

In theory it could be done at very close ranges of fire ...dry wadding then wet wadding would have been put down the barrel to keep the coals from igniting the linen bag that held the charge ...the bag pricked with the cannoneer's brass pick and fired almost immediately upon loading the coals ....like with hot shot on a wooden vessel it was extremely risky ....whether it was actually done or not is hard to prove, but it made good movie action 70 years ago!!!

Scottish Murdock style pistols were developed during the 17th century and as the 18th century began they were favoured by the Scots as a compact and deadly sidearm. I have couple of these in stock that I'd like to put into the hands of pyrates. They have been prepped and test fired to proof the barrels. They spark well and have fired just fine, with a belt clip on the offhand side. They make a fine addition to your impression. There is a silver disk on each side of the grip that can be personalized with a monogram or any image you prefer by your local engraver. With a full delivered price in the US of just $300.00 complete and ready to add powder and shot right from the box. I'll cover the S/H and insurance. You can ask Silkie, Patrick or others here if I deliver a quality product. I stand behind every weapon I sell, because I'd prefer not to stand in front of them. PM me if you're interested and we'll make arrangments for payment and delivery.

Jessi, You looked so good in the kit, you should be proud to step out in such well made kit. Kate loved doing it for you and the chemise you sewed was pretty impressive too. Was a pleasure sharing your birthday with you on board....sorry about the finicky pistol it worked fine all weekend until you tired to fire it

There is a product called Snow-Seal that is a beeswax based coating that will both save and protect your shoes for a long time. DO NOT USE NEATSFOOT OIL it will degrade the stitching in shoes and cut the life in half at least. Snow-seal 2-3 times a year and mine have lasted 6 years so far and show little signs of wear.... I do need to clean my brass buckles though

Scottish Grenadiers used a basket-hilted hanger/cutlass beginning around 1704 in both steel and brass mounts ...From some of the swords in the G. Neuman Collection ....I'll try to get some photos of them in a couple of weeks

As we chatted in Hampton lad, that is some gorgeous work! it has a great feel in the hand and the detailing on the back of the blade is quite well done. Sterling, you got yourself a beautiful weapon there. Congratulations on a job well done Matt! Hope you post more pics!!!!

The touch marks along the rim, there appears to be one of them is a RWP in an oval which is for the Wilton co. in PA makers of a modern pewter like alloy(armetale) for the past 50 years or so ....more versatile than pewter though since it can be used both hot or cold and even placed in the oven ... and Dutch we usually only bring service for 4 to events except to the cabin fever event in Feb.which you and Grace missed

We arrived in Williamsburg around 5PM Tueaday afternoon. Checked in to the motel(6)($42) and after settling in we went for a swim since it was still in the upper 80's ..... Spent the morning, after breakfast, in the bookshops and found a few nice new books. and then at the shops at the visitor center we found some new toys for wee Hamish (as he wowed them with his period correct flirting) We walked through the town and the shops of Williamsburg and went on a few building tours (Capitol & Palace) and then went to Chowning's Garden Tavern for lunch. As usual even the staff thought we were working there !!! Did a few more shops after lunch and had our pictures taken with folks(around 40 times);folks just loved to see "himself" in his shift and cap carried in a sling on Salty's hip. A thunderstorm came through so we headed back to our motel ....we're going to take a wee nap(I mean Hamish is going to ) then off to dinner. Thought we'd pick up a ceramic bird house in the morning and some fabric that Salty liked. We're thinking of playing Nine Pins in the motel tonight
