  1. Looks like fun, ye scallywags! Great write up by the scribe too! Ye be worried about heat while we poor Sea Dogs will be dodging squalls off Puget Sound next weekend at Pirates of Port Angeles! Huzzah!
  2. Port Angeles Ren Faire Report: Had fun at Port Angeles Ren Faire: took over the pub, kidnapped a princess, threatened the queen, failed to pay Mad Morty's ransom (almost), cannon fire 2x's daily, scared adults and charmed children, teased the pickle wench, sang along with Heather, sang dirty songs at the pub (after dark) with Black Wolf and drank all his cherry and apple pie, laughed our weasley black guts out-- just the regular stuff. Pirate Recon: Before we left town on Sunday night, LogKeeper, Polly and I did site recon fer Pirates of Port Angeles next weekend... Here's the highlights: 1. Pirate ship climb on play structure- whee!!! Aye, got to stand in the bow, until small children came and ordered us to leave. 2. Look-out tower 3. Giant squid 4. beach by the pier to fire BOOM's cannon's from 5. Nice pier fer 3 pretty ships: The Lady, the Lynx and the Bill of Rights 6. The weirdly twisted and funny Tortuga Twins are coming all the way from Florida 7. Heather Alexander and her band Uffington Horse are playin' Friday night at a ball at the Red Lion 7:00 pm/all ages $10.00 8. Red Lion Hotel is right on the beach by the pier and not significantly more expensive than other hotels in town- but reserve through AAA fer best deal. 9. Did I mention the beach by the pier? 10. Ferdinando and Dreamie suggest camping at Lake Crescent (Crescent Lake?), Olympic National Park, 20 min. away 11. A side order of mashed potatoes at the Red Lion costs $4.00 12. Bogg and Salty are playin' 13. Nearby KOA Kampground has "Kamping Kabins"- double bed, bunk bed and a porch. Google Port Angeles KOA... Hope to see ye Scallywags there....
  3. Been meaning to send greetings to the Royaliste from Desert Pyrate afloat on the Lady Washington. Eric looked like they were treating 'em well in when I visited with 'em in port in St. Helens, Oregon. He hadn't started mouldering-- yet. A few months shippin' in the Northwest will surely grow the green between the toes. During our visit Erin and I bestowed cinnamon muffins upon the crew dressed in our finest lady pirate wear. Oh, and I might have let it slip to his mates that he was a pirate-- hope he's not in trouble-- Sails incognito with Captain Evil aboard, he does.
  4. I like to sing (when I'm feelin wicked)... "We'll cruise the docks fer American boys!!!!"
  5. Mary Benson sings sweetly indeed! I'll be a listen' to ye both, Trapper on yar little "Broadside" CD as I hit the road to Port Angeles on the 'morrow! I'll wave to ye as our ships pass! -No white flag above this door!
  6. Ahoy Hurricane: Unfortunately Rusty Scupper's this weekend and conflicts with the Port Angeles Ren Faire. Many a pirate had to make a difficult choice. B.O.O.M. will be sailing the Osprey up to do the Ren Faire. Looking forward to switching from a cavalier to me cocked hat for Pirates of Port Angeles. You oughta make a return visit to your old home in the Northwest, (you'd be most welcome- and we be sending some of our folk your way for that little party you hold in November). We be quite the capitol of pyracy lately... Here we are in a cartoon that ran in the Arts and Entertainment section of the Oregonian Newspaper a couple of weeks ago... 7. Things could be betta, keep thinkin' that the changes will all do us good, but haven't seen much good come of it as of late. Somehow the world just keeps right on spinnin' whether we likes it or not. Need a horizon and a ship and a few good pirates and then we could sail this thing right off the map... Hope things are better in yarr neck of the wilderness Hetha and crew! Here's buckets of love to ye! ...Since love is all we really have anyway.
  8. The Northwest finally got it's own Pirate Faire after a false start last year. The wonderful thing is it is held near the City pier and the Lady Washington, the Lynx and Bill of Rights will all be in attendance doing special battle sails. http://www.portangelesfaire.org/03_sitefol...2005/index.html we're all hopeful that us 18th C types will have an permanent annual faire now. Will let you know how it goes.
  9. Greetings Billy Bones: Hope we can meet up with ye sometime! Sounds like yer quite the craftsman! -Stormfeather

Most of the BOOMies have chimed in by now with their support for an event during Tall Ships Tacoma. Just let us know what ye need commandeered lass and we'll be there to help!

  16. Almost -Sarah Harmer http://www.sarahharmer.com/ I almost dialed your number, When I thought the coast was clear cause it's looked up for so long at me, And said call me please. But the place was closing, the countergirl turned the sign, the cooks were getting their coats and I got mine, and said goodnight to the sea of empty seats. (Chorus) And if I am a sailor, then you are the warm gulf wind, and you've blown into this little port and roused my dreams again. I see my mouth moving when I talk to you, I do, I see my lips and I feel like a kid I can't keep anything hid Cause I've been under the paper you were writing on you left your impression long after you'd gone on me, marks only I can see. (Chorus) When we say sometime later, you know that we don't say when, You have blown into this little port and roused my dreams again. I almost dialed your number, When I thought the coast was clear cause it's looked up for so long at me, And said call me please. (Chorus) When we say sometime later, you know that we don't say when, You have blown into this little port and roused my dreams again. Roused my dreams. Sailor to wind
  17. Here's to the dreamin' of dreams and the savin' of doubloons! Look us up if'n ye end up on the left coast! Oregon is a fyne destination to be sure.
  18. Can anybody suggest the paint they've used? I'm thinking it need be something like latex house paint to stand up to the weather and not all soak into the black fabric.
  19. *not even trying to stay on topic now* Just let us know when you're due in port Charity! And there's more beautiful greybeards where that one came from....
  20. *Desperately tryin' to keep on topic* Just part of the secenery in this PORT 'O CALL! B of K, and all wenches get a fair share!!!!
  21. We'll miss ye up here, but I may make it home to the SF bay sometime, here's hopin'... It's nice to see a joli rouge flyin' like that. Happy new fittins'!
  22. Nay .. I vote fer the bi-color w/ the choppers. One o me favorite buckos has a blade like that.... Question fer ye all. How many of you actually applique and stich it together? Or are ye using paint? I found me a nice piece of black linen while thrifty shoppin' today- I think it may have been a tablecloth.... feelin' like I may have to sew somethin' ... but paint seems so immediately gratifying... What kind works best on a loose weave fabric? House paint?
  23. Trapper: I'll alert the Seattle crew to yar sing-songs and hope that ye can get something arranged in Tacoma. Harmon Brewery (across form Union Station by the University) may be one possible venue. Heather Alexander held a benefit fer the Washington Fantasy Faire/Gig Harbor that I attended there recently. Hurricane: send any of yar old crewmates or random lone pirates to our Raid Calendar site (Pirate Raids within one day's sail of Portlandia) and tell them they be welcome to be joining us!
