  1. ^ Depends - I like visiting my SoCal pirate friends at the Ojai faire, but for sheer fun I like the Kearny faire (any faire where pirates are invited to make noise of the bang and boom variety is my kind of faire!) < Exhausted today! The Jamba Juice matcha green tea blast with energy boost is helping, though. V If you could change anything about your local faire, what would it be? (excepting the quarrels between authentics vs. hollywood fairegoers.)
  2. Not everyone who grows older matures. It's one thing to stay young at heart, quite another to stay immature... I am exhausted today! I sailed out to welcome the Queen Mary 2 to the Bay of Saint Francis yesterday. That ship is HUGE - pics don't do it justice; you have to see it in person to actually get the real scope of its size. Hundreds of boats sailed under the Golden Gate bridge along with the QM2 and as usual, the tide and wave conditions made it interesting... We were at the south end of the bridge, so weren't near enough to the QM2 for it to have an effect on us, but down where we were, the boats were literally surfing. There was even a kayaker out there - insane! Pics here if you're interested. (BTW, I was wearing sweats under my getup - okay, so I'm a bit vain...)
  3. ^ A bit of both, actually. I generally plan out parts of a vacation and let the rest of it just happen. And I've been known to take spontaneous weekend trips. < Overdue for a trip to Canada. V Pack light or take lots of stuff?
  4. Pirates take their chances that their prey might be able to fight back. These were cowardly thieves and morons.
  5. ^ Either I think about the task being done and behind me, or I start working on it before my brain can create any delays. < Trying to complete a task using a beta version of software, but it keeps thwarting me! V Flowers or chocolate?
  6. They just found bullet holes in her hull. Some yahoos decided to use her as target practice while she was on her side. I'm speechless.
  7. ^ Friday night: accompanying Skip Henderson and the Starboard Watch at Speisekammer. Saturday: Morgan's Raid, TO7S' bi-annual big pirate get-together. Sunday: sailing out to say howdy to the Queen Mary. < Swelling has gone down quite a bit in my right wrist, even after playing the bodhran last night. Yay! V What would be the most meaningful gift someone would give you?
  8. I see a recurring motif here, Mr. Lasseter...
  9. Ya know, she can't be giving away ALL the secrets.
  10. ^ Calvados, except that I've been told that it tastes like furniture polish unless you get the REALLY expensive stuff. < Had to get up WAY too early this morning. V Red or white wine?
  11. ^ Fall - that's the best season locally < My wrist is swollen and I have performances for the next three days - did I mention I play the bodhran? V Ale or lager?
  12. Royaliste is a big vessel - she doesn't exactly turn on a time.
  13. Actually, it was 14' to 4'. I believe this was the first time they ventured into these waters, but they were using a depth finder. Apparently, the depth change was too sudden for such a large ship as Royaliste to manoeuver.
  14. Perhaps alerting the local telly stations and mentioning these thieves might work. Really let them have it publicly - call them the lowest form of life (which they are) and really insult them. If the pirate gods were smiling, they'd show up at the Royaliste to take offense to being called pond scum and would be met with cutlasses and cannons. Revenge would be sweet. Okay, so I'm a vindictive pirate - I'll admit it.
  15. Try the website: http://www.privateerinc.org/
  16. Have you picked up those Altoids yet? Let's see... sailing, parades, Joe-Joe's cookies, Altoids, Altoids sours, old jobs, burning out on old jobs, wacky working hours, bank hours, weapons classes, pirate groups, names, getting sick over the holidays, the very energetic Liam - did I miss anything?
  17. I don't have the iron stomach I used to. If I rode that ride, it better be behind a barrier if there were people nearby...
  18. Ya know William, when I started reading this thread it occurred to me that you were the only one here with my phone number and that I should expect a call. Cell phone was turned off - sorry!
  19. ^ Dancing and occasionally chess. < My sewing backlog just keeps growing... Found some more great fabric today! V Sweet or savoury?
  20. Like dangling a bottle 'o rum just out of a pirate's reach... heh.
  21. Try Pink Floyd's "Run Like Hell" - that will get you going in a big way.
  22. The Coast Guard has given them twelve hours to move Royaliste or they will seize her. It's down to the eleventh hour! If you haven't yet donated to the cause and you're of a mind to, today would be a really good day to do this.
