^ It has to be a toss-up between cockroaches and mosquitos. < Back in the Dark Ages when I used to clean and test sewers and storm drains, I encountered more than my share of cockroaches. Big buggers, too. V Pass the question

Woo hoo - thanks! And my name is actually Jill - I'm one of the few pirate reinactors I know who actually uses her given name... -

Hey - thanks! (I did Iron Bess' sig file, also. It was a heck of a lot of fun.) That is just too funny Blackjohn! -
Heh. I must admit that most of my garb falls within the fantasy/Howard Pyle arena, but I have a few pieces that are more authentic (although they are a combination of machine and hand-sewing; I'm too busy and impatient to completely hand sew anything.)

Rumba - those birds are really hamming it up for the camera! So cute!

{bump} I'm going to go with number two, Silkie.

Heh - I haven't changed mine at all. Been debating whether or not to create a new one, but I really like the bloody hand print. -
Yeah - I'm more of a water drinker. Sodas once in a great while, if at all. Lady B - working with horses and cleaning stables is GREAT exercise! Good on ya for going to the gym as well.

Still editing and re-writing software help files - I'm on the estate planning taxation and asset titling sections now.

I'm with you on the papaya thing, Rumba. Except it is palatable with lots of fresh lime juice. Seriously - get a slice of papaya and squeeze a lime over it; it's actually pretty good that way. With mangoes, you can always peel and chop a couple, saute them in a bit of butter and brown sugar, throw in some rum and light the whole thing on fire. Kind of like bananas foster. Spoon it over vanilla ice cream - yummy!

Portabella mushroom burgers, corn on the cob and tomato mozzarella salad. Dessert was sorbet with fresh mango.

^ Summer holiday? What's that? < Pretty much all of my vacation time is spent taking off a day or two here and there for events. V Pass the question

Don't be doing that to yourself - none of those self-fulfilling prophecies! Keep telling yourself that you will be vigilant and no falls or injuries will be in your immediate future. If you think you're going to have an accident or be injured - you will!

Julienned some veggies and cooked them in butter and garlic. Threw in some fresh basil and tossed them with penne pasta and added a splash of organic olive oil. Dessert was Rainier cherries.

I just got back from the San Jose Flea Market and when nuts in the produce section, so it's going to be something with lots of fresh veggies.

I was walking on the foredeck of my sailboat and a couple of people jumped around, RIGHT when I was walking next to the open forward hatch (they were unaccustomed to being on a sailboat and didn't realise that you shouldn't leap around on it when other people are trying to get things ready.) I've walked and scrambled around that foredeck in some really dicey situations, but this was one of those freak occurrances. I fell into that hatch and bounced off the surrounding ridge three times - I had very dark bruises right where each rib was hit, so my back had three stripes on it for awhile. They've congealed into one big bruise. I managed to bruise some in the front as well. And yep - I'm trying to avoid laughing too much. Unfortunately, the movie we got from Netflix right after the fall was an episode of "Mystery Science Theatre 3000". We made it about a third of the way through before it became too painful from all the laughing. Darn them for being so funny! I changed our queue so there is no comedy for the next few weeks.

Hmmm.... in my experience, it depends on the guy. Some men really like that sensation, others not so much. And creme de menthe - I always used a bit of peppermint oil.

I'm feeling better. My back has pretty much stopped spasming, so I'm just going through the normal pains of injured ribs and back muscles. Those, I can deal with no problem. Although I did sneeze a couple of days ago and fell out of my chair from the pain (did I mention I'm a very violent sneezer?) One of my ribs SHIFTED and I had to push it back into place.

^ San Francisco Bay Area, Montreal and Santa Cruz. < Spent a great part of my youth restoring and modifying cars. Took my driver's test in a souped-up car which scared the daylights out of the tester. I assured him, "Don't worry - I've been driving this car since I was twelve... nevermind." V Pass the question

I've been to the Whaley House. There's definitely something going on there - I had three encounters, one that Jack experienced as well. I made a point of not reading about it and when I did, what I had encountered was what several other people had seen and felt as well. One of the encounters was like something I experienced in New Orleans. I did go on a ghost tour there, but didn't see or sense anything at the places they took me to. However, I did have an incident in the back of a voodoo shop and in the back of a saloon. In the voodoo shop, I could move freely in the front of the shop, but when I stepped into the back room, the air suddenly compressed and I found it hard to move through it (just like in the parlour at Whaley House.) After fighting that for awhile, I gave up and moved back to the front room. And I've been to Bodie, but many years ago. I expect it's in the same state of disrepair. When I went, there was hardly anyone there, but a friend of mine went a couple of years ago and said that since ghost towns were getting more popular, when he went it was mobbed with people. Kinda spoils the whole idea of "ghost town" for me...
