  1. Aye, sir. (smiles a bit) The idea of taking them over land...well...aye, sir. I shall haul them only as far as necessary on land. As for the Master Gunner, I have sent him word, but shall not wait for him to begin what labor I can. There is much to be done.
  2. (comes up from the afterhold, still adjusting his jacket) Master Lasseter. (tips hat) With your permission, I shall take a number of able sailors and lay down planking before the fort to make the egress of the cannon a little easier.
  3. One Irish coffee... ...and a slice of Red Velvet Cake. Can I get you anything else?
  4. Master Lasseter. (tips hat) I've not raised the Master Gunner, but I believe it would serve best to wait, what with night coming on. I'll see to it that he gets you message to move the cannon in the morning.
  5. And for dessert... ...red velvet cake.
  6. I have Cornish King Beef Rib Eye Steak in Claret sauce.
  7. A great many of my friends are partial to Chaucer's Mead.
  8. Aye. Rummy is not to be found aboard ship, Master Lasseter. She is off on expedition with Master Diego at this time. Still, if it pleases you, I can round up enough caulkers to stem the seams until the master carpentry can be done upon her return.
  9. Begging your most humble pardon, but I don't believe that I have been introduced to the ship's carpenter. Whom should I address?
  10. What John is trying so hard to say is this. He doesn't like it.
  11. Got a Whale of a Tale. Love that stupid song.
  12. (wipes up some of the tables and extinguishes a few lamps. locks up the larder and fetches a mandolin for some night music on the upper deck.) Beautiful night.
  13. Everyone has more costumes than me.
  14. Aye. Let's just say that I won't be needing anyone to tip for their drinks for awhile and the Dutch East India Company is going to feel...well...let's leave it at that.
  15. I was goofing off today and taking close-ups for a new avatar.
  16. Master Lasseter. (tips hat) I am happy to report the that footings and supports for the fortifications are in place. I recommend that we place the cannons and test for range and elevation before the finishing touched are completed. I would like the Master Gunner to look over the fort and see if it lends itself well to the cannon and gunnery crew.
  17. One falafel and a beer coming right up.
  18. A close up of me with my longknife and my unfinished cavalier hat.
  19. (flings open doors) AAAAAaaaahhhhhhhh! It's nice to take a break from it all from time to time. Aye. Nice, indeed. Tonight's special is falafel! Having lived in Isreal twice, I'm biased about the way falafel should be prepared. Very biased indeed.
  20. Patrick is correct, but I assume that your are looking for more enjoyable fare? You can make hard tack with a little extra sugar and it isn't bad, but you may have to break away from the awful food and serve a lot of fresh fish or turtle soup. There's always goat fixings. Boats kept goats for milk, cheese and the eventual meat. Eggs are common...boiled, fried and scrambled. Pork in its many forms. There is also a variety of puddings and molasses oriented desserts. Also try nuts, tropical fruits, raisens and dates.
  21. I am sorry about your news, lass. Frightfully, sorry. But you'll lose no friends here for the limp. Many a good pirate has a pronounced gate from old injury, an you have the leg to be thankful for. I know it comes as a small consolation, but I'm glad your health isn't so that you can't be here with us. (pours a line of drinks) These are all for you. I'll go get my own glass.
  22. Down at the cove... We'll have this fortification done in no time at all. Aye. However, I do believe we are frightfully short of stones. I'll scout up the beach for rocks of a good size and holler when I need them hauled. (walks up to the treeline in search of good stones)
