  1. Thank ye kindly m'Lady. Tis good to be seen. Trying out my "land legs"
  2. Absolutely stunning.
  3. A large sleek Brig mysteriously appears out of the mist at the edge of the bay. Outside the pub a low rumble approaches.Growing louder, the rumble begins to rattle the doors and the tankards off the tables. Suddenly the door bangs into the room followed by a couple kegs of Ale and large hairy beast who drops a sea bag on the deck. I'm home! Greetings Lasses and Lads Doc has returned. Drink up! For those of you who only recently signed the articles, I am Doc - third generation US Navy, retired firefighter and lifelong naval/military history geek. Worked for years at the New York Renaissance Faire. Lifelong leather smith and model ship builder. Really been missing this place.
  4. Hey.... that's my coloring book, I keep hidin it 'cause Animal keeps eatin the crayons
  5. No, strangely enough there were never a lot of photos taken by those other than myself and I never thought to take any of my gear. I was always looking at what everybody else was working. Doc
  6. It was not my intention to displace you Sir. I was merely offering services if they were indeed needed. As for my doctoring supplies, I sold them off when I got out of re-enacting. Only things I have now are of a far more modern vintage. Doc
  7. No longer Naughty?? What a shame. Now where did ye hide that ruler.....
  8. Well, ain't you a Nun? Ye could open "Good Syster Syrens Orphanage Fer Wayward Pyrates"
  9. If we're still seeking a Surgeon, I could relocate my thriving practice from "The Wake" to dry land for a spell. I could provide veterinary services to Animal and his friends as well Just kidding Animal... now put down the cutlass lad....seriously.... put down the cutlass
  10. My Avatar is the Logo for my business, Docs Models. I build scale models for competition and for collectors and museums. The skull is held up by a crossed paintbursh and Xacto knife..
  11. I am, if nothing else, "safe"......
  12. Got several mobile cannon. Know how to use 'em too. Before my eyes went, I could remove George Washington from a quarter at 100 meters with iron sights. Now I need optics to pull it off. The upside is with the optics I can reach out to 200 meters. My favorite sniper t-shirts Long distance is the next best thing to being there. You can run, but you'll only die tired.
  13. Aye warm parts and cold steel.....* gets completely distracted * Warm Parts, Cold Steel, and Hot lead.
  14. Main Mast??? Ye doth give me too much credit m'Lady. My stern is passabls so I'm told. I'm more known for me strong hands and tree trunk legs. But of course we have a bilge pump.
  15. But of course we mustn't let yer boat sink darlin. Just call me Ships Engineer of the good ship Merrydeath.
  16. Parts is parts warm, hot or otherwise..... more than once? That goes without sayin... Missed ye too darlin.
  17. Happy New Year's!!!!

  18. Welcome Black Rose. I too am land locked - in NY (not far from you). I do have the Hudson River but it's just not the same.
  19. Greetings Sir, I have been remiss in greetings to the new comers here of late. I'll be taking a wee dram... fer medicinal perposes of course. And Syren, which way does yer moral compass point luv?
  20. Yeah... kinda funny when that happens.... "Can I help you?" "Nah... I'm looking for the right shade of polar fleece for a Bandito's head...." it does kinda throw them off....... Not unlike when I roll into Sally Beauty Supply and head right for the Nail Polish Aisle. I use it as paint. Cut it 50:50 with lacquer thinner and run it through the airbrush. Dries almost instantly, wears like iron and can be hand polished out to a mirror finish. Throw on a couple clear coats and it's a thing of beauty. I walk right up to the counter with my polish, a handful of the nail sanding sticks and my Sally Beauty Member Card. Again, the girls who work there all know me (I went to college with the store Manager) but it's always good for a laugh with the unsuspecting customers.
  21. I have three Mavericks that I started tearing down to modify. I'm workin up a Steam (pneumatic) backpack cannon sort of like the beast in the pictures. Still working on the conceptual drawings but it'll be very cool. I figure a brace of modified mavericks, the back pack cannon and a cutlass or sabre will be my armament. Might throw in a couple smaller blades too.
  22. Was rummaging through my pattern box and ran across a pattern for late 19th century Britches. Bought the pattern when I was a SASS member but never sewed up a pair. Also found patterns for vests, shirts and a duster coat. I think thay all will fit the bill with some modifications. Wandered into the local fabric store where the girls know me but some of the other customers were taken aback by how I knew my way around the store and the the fabrics. Decided on a nutmeg cotton duck for the britches and a deep chocolate duck for the duster coat which I'll treat with duxback to make it weather tight (dual purpose wear). Still working up the shirt ideas and the vest. Not sure bout foot wear yet. I've got a line on a WWI Flying helmet and goggles. I'd like to have it done for NY Comic-Con in February. Looked long and hard at a new sewing machine. They had Husqvarna demos going on all day. Little Pricey...
  23. What kind of leather are you using? I was going though my leather bin and found an Elk hide that totally forgot I had. Traded for it several years ago with the idea of making a pair of plains boots from it. Now it might just become my Flight Vest/Jacket. Unfortunately, my heavy duty sewing machine crapped out last year so it'll all have to be hand stitched. I'll be using 5-6 oz tooling cowhide for the tactical rig. I've done a number of holsters out of it and it holds up quite well.
  24. HMMM... Little PVC pipe and fittings, scavenge an air tank off one of my old Paintball markers... some spare lumber and doodads from the parts box and viola!
