I had a request from my biggest fan at the time to do a chase scene of a pirate pursuing a merchantman, this is what I came up with.

I drew this around Halloween several years ago. about that time, I came across a wonderful rendition of 'The Dark Lady' by the Rambling Sailors on Youtube, and became enthralled with it. Thus this Ghost ship done as a seasonal drawing for Halloween on Deviantart, become Baron La Bonne's ship
  16. From the album: Pirate Art

this ship is based on a simple model of the Whydah Galley my parents bought for me several years ago when we saw the exhibit in Cincinatti. I elaborated on the design and gave it some decoration, this is probably the only drawing of this skill level that is shown with crew or open gunports. It's supposed to be from the view of a merchant ship staring down the guns of a pirate marauder. I after I was done, I realized there was room to add more guns on the quarterdeck
  17. From the album: Pirate Art

I called this ship 'the indigo pirate' in reference to her slight resemblance to Baron Gruda's Frigate from the movie The Crimson Pirate. Indigo, being a version of blue, while crimson is a version of red

I have a friend who's a little younger than me, he's expressed interest in pirate re-enacting, but is mostly unable to so he roleplays and writes stories on deviantart which concern a fictional character of his invention who is Blackbeard's Son, This was my attempt to do a mock-up of his inherited ship in a period woodcut style I'm no expert so I'd be happy for critiques and opinions as woodcut pen drawings seem to resurface now and again in my art
