Awwww... dudes! O Brother has some of the best lines of all time! My favorite scene (yes, I have this quote in my cube at work)!!! Delmar: Mind if we join ya old-timer? Blind Seer: Join me, m'son, join me. Delmar: You work for the railroad, grandpa? Blind Seer: I work for no man. Delmar: Got a name do ya? Blind Seer: I have no name. Ulysses Everett MacGill: Well that right there may the the reason you've had difficulty finding gainful emplyment. You see, in the mart of competitve commerce -- Blind Seer: You seek a great fortune, you three who are now in chains. You will find a fortune, though it will not be the fortune you seek. But first -- first you must travel a long and difficult road, a road fraught with peril. Mm-hmm. You shall see thangs... wonderful to tell. You shall see a... a cow... on the roof of a cottonhouse. Ha. And, oh, so many startlements. I cannot tell you how long this road shall be, but fear not the ob-stacles in your path, for fate has... vouchsafed your reward. Though the road may wind, yea, your hearts grow weary, still shall ye follow them, even unto your salvation. That's brilliant! And the music! Whoa! Gotta love that guitar! gotta youtube it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T555vvfSvAM YES! Clooney is frickin' awesome in this! Such a cool look!

... and since that eventually led me to Nick Cave I'm now listening to Red Right Hand.

Blame Hester's sig... Lotte Lenya bugged the hell outta me... where have I heard that name before? so I wikki'ed it, which led me here... and... before you knew it I was here and then I landed here and finally here. Or, more simply put, Mack the Knife.

Yeah, it "killed" the elderly lady in the room next to my mom first. Then it moved on to each of the adjoining rooms. I'm not sure how many it "killed" in that ward while she was there, but suffice to say it contributed to the deaths of more people than would have died otherwise. And the nurses and doctors... at Hopkins... did they follow proper sterilization procedures... eh... never mind. Hey, would you like to buy a sword? How's this for a deal... $120... and a pack of Keebler fudge stripe cookies! It's in my car down in the garage...

I agree. I love fog. One of my favorite weather types. I also love very light misty rain, kinda like fog+. 70s... I think I could use a dose of that right now, but I know it is on the way. This morning as I was walking the dog, the birds were chirping like crazy. Spring is near at hand.

That pic of Mr Hand is close to spot on I'd say. Bravo, Mr Hand, bravo! Yes, welcome to the era of very tall hats! http://www.employees.org/~cathy/images/sailor.jpg http://www.employees.org/~cathy/images/lant_roll1.jpg And odd as this may sound, in an illustration of the Golden Lion some figures appear to be wearing hats like this!

Yep, it's all the rage 'round these parts... I have fond memories of Walter Reed... the Little Shop of Horrors... first place I ever got to see up close and personal like someone's internal organs... lungs, liver, pancreas... and someone's brain. And that wasn't even in the museum. The museum has such things as... the elephantiasis infected leg in a jar, and countless other things best left unmentioned in polite company. After my experience of last year, I see hospitals in a new way. Hospitals are filthy places. My mom spent her last six months in Hopkins, in one of the most high tech neuro-intensive care wards on the face of this planet, and MRSA swept through that place like the plague.

Not that I want the day of retirement to coincide with my funeral*, but I have always said that exact same thing! Pretty cool Willy! I have even given some thought to looking through the CFR to see what laws if any it might violate. Here's to us getting what we want! Though not any time soon! * That would be seriously bad... though I suspect I work within easy toasting distance of DC if some loony ever nuked it.

Thanks! We gotta keep on truckin'!

Thank you, but no thanks. I'm just observing with amused detachment.

You are sounding a bit like Doctor Smith my good man. I think Hogan's Heroes was one of the things that inspired me to be a reenactor in later life. Get Smart. While I haven't seen it in years, I think it would still be funny. And I Dream of Jeanie too. As well as The Addams Family. Gomez cracks me up. Tish is hot... and she speaks French!!! Brilliant stuff!

And if you subscribe to the theory that people look like their pets...

For those of you playing along at home, here's the first piece of the puzzle.

I know, I'm just teasing you. Gives me a chance to see what you are made of.

^ Hell no! Why stick to just "an accent"? I do tons of them! And evidently, I do the British one rather well! < Always thought a cool job would be doing cartoon voices. Very glad son#1 does voices when playing games and telling stories. < Also, very impressed by Jacky's answer to the "favorite hat" question. My hat's off to you sir! V When you aren't here, where are you?

IN other words... "boy, just sit back and listen to some of the stories these fine folk here'll tell ya." For instance, Iron Bess... that lady impresses me with her grandeur... and Sterling... has seen more than I'll ever see... and Mr Hand! There's none as talented as him!

As an aside... I've always thought blindsiding someone about their kit during an event to be... very impolite to say the least. That's the kind of thing to do after an event, when critiquing and looking for the stuff that went right or wrong, or before the event, when we do research to figure out what needs improving upon.

Patrick, oh hell no I don't mind. Not at all! This whole endeavor is made better by sharing information. I appreciate the fact that you posted it! I figure anything I find and post is fair game to be re-posted anywhere by anyone with or without acknowledgment. After all, it's not like I actually wrote the document and could claim copyright.

The married guy sitting safely on the sidelines says... I know exactly what you mean Mr Hand. Fwiw... I think I have it figured out. The problem is... I have two different answers! And no, I'm not giving my answers away!

Hee Haw... gods yes... Which in turn reminds me of... Petticoat Junction! Talk about a show in need of a risque 21st century remake! Irwin Allens shows... Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea... Land of the Giants... OH! Better yet! Gerry Anderson shows! U.F.O. ! one of my favs! and Space:1999!
