Thank ye Jack Roberts, I been tryin' to remember that name fer about ten years. I havn't done business wi' Dixie Gunworks in about thirty years when I bought my trade muskett from 'em.

I don't think it could be the way I smell, I just bathed.......uh,......let's see.....what month is this.... Well it were about six months ago, so that can't be it.

I wonder if its been so quiet here cause I joined. I tend to have that effect on people.

Thank ye, I've had a reproduction gun so I'm not familiar with their construction or quality. But, they do look perty.

Now I have a question about something I've been considering for awhile. Since the cost of a good arm is prohibitive right now, even the kits are more than I want to pay at the moment. And I have seen a lot of good looking non-fireing guns that are really cheap. My question is for those who have more expertise in the matter. If you could get a non-fireing replica, then find a working lock and barrel to put on them, what would keep you from making a working model out of a fake?
-
been readin yer posts on queen anne....do you gents know where i might find a non-firing replica? don't have the time (to learn how to shoot) or funds to get a working one....just want one to shove in my sash in gasparilla.
thanks!
Paisley, I found a lot of reproduction stuff that looks pretty good and Allenbey's.com. Most all of it is under fifty dollars.

...ow.
Won't be hearin' outta THAT ear any time soon...
*pokes at ear with finger and winces a bit....*
Yer right 'bout that Miss Hawkings. About 30 years ago I was at a rifle range with a few mates. The range master called fer a cease fire, an' the lad next to me 'ad a hangfire, he was new to muzzle-loadin'. Anyway I had just took out me earplugs when 'is musket made a loud BOOOOM! two feet from me left ear. It were well o'er a month afor I could hear agin. An' after 30 years half me hearin' is gone from me left ear an' she's still ringin'. Ahh, the fond memories of youth. :)

Aims her flintlock at the wee little...... skull.

Your pirate name is:
Bloody William Kidd
Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!
I have never been so insulted in my life. Reliable, in deed! AARRRRRG.

This be an old thread, but I'll thro my tupence worth in.
Several years ago, Tandy Leather Co. had a patern for a leather hat. With a few changes to the patern it would make a good tricorne fer under $50. All these in the thread look good and may be well made, but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much fer no hat.

I wish I could help with yer problem, but when it comes to corsets I'm a better hand at removin' than I am at wearin'.

You might want to try making them in a smaller size. They will still be baggy but the smaller overall size might make them fit a little better.

Yeah Disneyland got rid of their Indian village too. To put in Country Bear Jamboree? Sheeesh. I haven't been there in 20 years, I'm sure I wouldn't recognize the place now.

23rd. birthday is it. I'm tryin' to remember what that one was like, it was sooooooo long ago. Happy birthday, maybe you should record it so you can remember it when yer my age.

Here's some good swords at a good price, most under $100.

Aye, I'm an artist. In several mediums too. The reason I turned to piracy is that I needed somethin' I could make money at.

Unfortunately, under THIS country's law, it'll be 2 YEARS an' 16 days afore I'm full grown.
Now, there's no worries. Jack Madd said it could take two years to get it off the ground. That'll be just in time fer yer commin o' age.

Aye, number VI sound like a death sentence wether ye take her aboard or leave her on shore.

Here ya be lass, I 'ope this helps.
Yo Ho, Yo Ho
(A Pirate's Life for Me)
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
We extort, we pilfer, we filch and sack.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Maraud and embezzle and even hijack.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char, inflame and ignite.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
We burn up the city, we're really a fright.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
We're rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
We're devils and black sheep, really bad eggs!
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
We're beggars and blighters and ne'er-do-well cads.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Aye! But we're loved by our mommies and dads!
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
