My opinion in the GAoP were talking one shot at body mass, hit 'em or make 'em flinch, with a follow up with blade or axe that was in the other hand. Comparing then with now multi-shot pistols and revolvers I don't feel that the combatants had much time to take up any formal stance as there was no second shot or 50 foot accuracy. Jas. Hook
