  1. OMG - You are an animal indeed! I'd follow you anywhere Quartermaster! Where's the next Pyrate raid?
  2. If you have a new event or one that you cant find in the event calendar... Please email us at events@pyracy.com and we'll get it in the formal calendar. You can post in the raids section, but it will get more facetime in the events calendar. We had to limit who can post there, because Stynky says it gets ripe in there right quick with multiple hands in the pie. I've been workin' on the events calendar for the Pub. We are trying to keep it generally Pirate focused... So I've included the following types of events: Pirate Invasions/Festivals Historical Reenactments Maritime Heritage and Seafood festivals Tallship festivals Renaissance fairs with pirate theme or pirate themed weekends regular/repeating Pirate theme bar crawls Market Fairs with kit that roughly matches our time periods Rendezvous with known pirates attending/camping We're open to ideas and new event suggestions. Smallish local events should be kept in the general discussion thread. Larger events we'll post. William Brand has been working very hard to get several dates setup at events that we could have a regional crewe reunion along with a Pyracy pub tent or space. He is trying to include camping arrangements but that can be problematic depending on the event. One thing we've learned is that great venues are difficult to find and keep. Like everything, change is inevitable. So dont take your events for granted. Support them and help them to flourish any way you can. Cherish and protect your special venues, they are few and far between. madPete

Once a year visitors from all over the country enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th century Hampton overrun by pirates. Hampton’s waterfront comes alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors, costumed in historically accurate garb, who transform today’s Hampton into the busy seaport of yesterday. Led by Blackbeard the Pirate himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and re-live the history and legends of 1718 Hampton. This year the festival has been honored by being named the 3rd best pirate festival in North America by USA Today. The Festival offers a variety of children’s activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, arts and crafts, and much more! This year’s activities include a number of reenactments from impromptu street skirmishes between pirates and the militia, to full-scale sea battles in the Hampton Harbor, featuring the popular re-enactment of Blackbeard’s final battle. Onlookers can also enjoy the waterfront view where tall ships tower over more than 50 private sail and powerboats all decked out in their own pirate gear. A presentation ceremony follows the sea battle, where Lt. Maynard presents Blackbeard's head and defeated crew to Virginia's Governor Spotswood. Visitors can participate in the festivities when they join Blackbeard’s funeral parade, Hampton’s version of Mardi Gras, and share in the booty from his treasure chest. VOLUNTEERS: Market Fair volunteers please read the 2024 notice to Volunteers AUCTION to be held on Saturday! Come to historic Fort Frederick, an original stone fort built in 1756 during the French and Indian War and travel back in time to an authentic 18th century market fair. A whiff of campfires fills the air. Colorful entertainers are found strolling about the fair. There are over 100 sutlers (period vendors) selling 18th century wares: pottery, tin and copper ware, clothing, material and patterns, books, fireplace and cooking hardware, flintlock muskets and accoutrements, horn wares, paintings and prints, lanterns and other camp gear, etc. Blanket trading is conducted in the camper area. See hundreds of fair-goers of all ages dressed in colonial clothing: artisans, soldiers, ladies & gentlemen, Native Americans, longhunters, traders, servants, etc. Free entertainment for all. The Fair is open to sutlers, traders, street vendors and entertainers as well as individuals, groups, military units and American Indians portraying the appropriate time period and geographic area, representing eastern North America from 1730 through 1790. The Fair is a Juried Event for camper and sutlers, but open daily to all visitors. Attending Market Fair is a wonderful way to increase ones knowledge of the period, particularly the French and Indian War period, and the role that historic Fort Frederick played in that conflict and in protecting the Maryland frontier in general https://friendsoffortfrederick.info/market_fair.html https://pastlanetravels.com/fort-frederick-market-fair/

Not sure what his pub name was but he was excited and we talked about his upcoming retirement and the fact he would be able to do a lot more pyrate events. 20. I reached "Mission" today and we talked about Historical Pyracy, goats, the pub and a host of pyrate related topics. Its really a blast to reach out and talk to these folks, its been too long.
  21. I called "Kenneth" and he answered! I gave him the Pyracy pub opening Spiel and then we chatted briefly. He was excited about the pyracy pub. We talked about logging in to the pub and that he would have to get a login reset, but he can still read without logging in in the mean time. We also talked briefly about new events and getting ready for work.
