  1. Now that's awesome... I need to make a ductape clone hahaha Looks good to me
  2. Unfortunately, Michael died a few years back. His wife is keeping the website up as a memorial to him. He did excellent work, and was extremely reasonable with his prices. A great loss to the reenactor community !!! >>>>> Cascabel That guy had one of the widest selections of clothing I've ever seen.. very impressive
  3. Who are you making the jumps for? Is that dressform an exact copy of that person? If not then you may need to put the draft on them before you trim anything. I may be telling you something you already know but anywhoo... If you added boning only where you stated it would make it like a typical french bodice like most women wear at faire. I think it would look odd like that since the body is much longer. Like Callenish said above... You should add boning all the way 'round yet with wide spacing.
  4. I say we plan a raid on the pawn shop.... all show up armed and ask the guys to point out the real guns... you know...put 'em on the spot as it were. funny show by the way

  11. Thank you sir... I figure that my kit is pretty similar to a few of those outfits. I don't think I could stand wearing a ruff like some of those cats have so I'll opt out of that part of the kit. I've seen a few hat styles in this book I own called What People Wore and I like those tall hats that resemble pilgrim hats but with a much smaller brim. If anything maybe people will comment on the hat and we can chat about the rest. Will work on a new hat and post pics
  12. By Whitebeard ya mean Weezer, or ya callin' me Whitebeard. If the latter be the case...I'm not French...I don't care what me wife says....I'm not French...But them socks are.....Haaaarrrrrrrrrr. Not you ya crusty ol' barnacle... yes I was refering to Wheezer the Roaming Gnome... although that beard you got there is mighty white... impressive too.
  13. Aye... Mcdonalds taste better roasted than boiled
  14. ah... just trying to clarify what we see in one of Foxe's great pictures and think plaid and/or tartan... they were thinking check... Yes well... I guess the term is... my bad. There I go thinking in modern terms again... gotta stop doing that in this time capsule of piracy. Check was check whether simple or complex.... aye aye Oh... and Callenish... that's why I don't go for clan tartans. I just wear what looks nice.
  15. Hey.... my cap'n started it hahaha the French have their uses... one of our crew by the name of Whitebeard is a Frenchman.
  16. Plaid is the Gaelic word for blanket and since the Scots always wore big blankets of tartan material... the english speaking folks heard them call them plaids and soon the design became known as plaid to Yanks and Englishmen
  17. HAHAHAHA I'm quite sure that in this thread we've near completed the script to a scene in a Tarantino movie
