  4. Just wondering if anyone out there makes a Handgonne.. Also, would a serpentine model (later handgonne) have been used at Drake's Raid 1586? I am thinking that at that point, a functional serpentine handgonne might have still seen some limited use - why through away a good (if not goofy) early matchlock? My initial research says they were in use in the 16th century - any insight or makers?
  5. One event for this time period = a nice blade that is correct, but it's a one use annual (disregarding Renfairs, sword) Are ALL the one's I listed correct for the time period?

  16. Ahoy! There is a possibility that the wife and I may make a last minute decision and fly up for this. My question - is there any spare room in the encampment for us? By that, I mean: 1. Is there room for two more PCers in the Encampment 2. If so, does anyone attending own a spare tent we could use, as we would be flying in. 3. If not, does anyone have spare space for a privateer and his port wench? I'll buy rum and ale for our gracious hosts....

  18. I got this wild idea this weekend - perhaps not wild... I would like to make some grenadoes that could be used in a reenactment battle. Yes, folks, I want to toss around some bombs. My first thought is to make a reusable greanadoe that could house a smoke bomb. Light and toss - smoke comes out, no harm to anyone. My questions are: Anyone have an idea on how to make it go boom and still be okay for reenactments? Anyone have any construction ideas? Anyone who organizes events - Would a person be allowed to toss around a few faux grenadoes? I think this is a cool idea - just need to figure out how to execute it - so to speak.
  19. Here be a new pic of me wearing the justaucorps I recently got. Yeah I know, it's not dirty... Believe it or not, the slops are - it was just sunny!
