  1. Ooooohohohoh.... droooool! Did I mention I have a buckle fetish erm... fixation?

I'd be very interested to know what these puppies are going for!

I'm only able to produce one at a time. So I am currently unable to price them I'm going to look into having some sent to a company that can produce say 20 at a time. Then I can sell them at a decent price. Right now I've spent countless hours and I have two of a single design done.

  2. I have not gotten to smaller sizes yet. I do have 3 designs one which is ready to be cast . The other two I have yet to make into wax designs they are clay right now. I have two wax ring designs as well. I have started a new job about two months ago so I havn't had a chance to do up some of the designs I have drafted up on paper. In other news I will Be making room for casting equiptment at the workshop where I am employed.

  3. I'm happy to announce that I now have full access to

some top of the line casting equiptment. I will now finally be able to cast my buckles and ring disigns that I have had sitting for so long. The equiptment will be open for use this Friday. I'll cast some up over the next couple weeks. I'm so excited it's been such a long wait and the past year has been rough. I will post pics of the buckles as soon as I finish them. Thanks for your patience and support.

  4. Honestly, I just hope they stick to the source material (Tim Powers' "On Stranger Tides") as closely as possible, taking into consideration their need to weave Sparrow et al. into it somehow. The book was great (bar the no-ending ending), and it could be just what the franchise needs to escape the poorly written drivvel of #3 (yes, I was one of the 5 people on earth who actually liked #2).

I liked the second one as well, I thought Davey Jones's lines were excellent.

  5. I was a level 49 when I quit playing. I know the game has changed since I played it last. I would really love to play again but can't afford it and don't have time for it with all the buckle making I have to do.

Here's some screen shots that I made when I was playing.

Battle for Port contention. Pirates fared poorly in Port battles, don't know if it's still that way.

This is a funny one. Anyone who knows of the hornet gunboat knows just how small it is. Pretty much a dingy with a sail and a

solitary cannon. To have a Mississippi company trader give up to me surprised and delighted me.

  6. thats fantastic. what size belt does that take.

Hang in there on the money front mate. These buckles could earn you a fortune.

This one is for 2" width baldric.

I will also reduce this same design by half for small belts like those on hats. Maybe even shoe buckles.

  7. I'm listen to some old pirate audio books and sculpting. Winter is rough here as well. I've seen -70 without wind chill. With a couple good months of actual summer weather. 30 years of this weather and you'll live in a cardboard box as long as your in warm Caribbean weather lol. I would suggest Pirates of the Burning Sea as well. I played the game back in Beta days and for about 4 months on Antigua server after it started. Lots of fun. Sleek Packet boat was my favorite. Hung out with Deadeye Cruickshank terrorized Port Royale for a time.

  8. Bad news. I highly doubt I can get these finished. I can't afford any supplies anymore. I can how ever create designs from what clay I have left but that's where it stops. My hours being cut back due to people not spending money anymore locally has finally caught up with us, the city where i live is in a downward spiral. For now heat and food comes first. I will try to sell off as many of my possessions as I can to make it through the winter and catch up with past bills. I'll have to see how things look when spring rolls around to see if I can complete these.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the light at the end of the tunnel has been extinguished! lol.

  9. Apparently Michael Crichton (the genius behind Jurassic Park) wrote a pirate book whilst he was still alive. Just recently released, it was discovered on his computer by a friend after his death. Steven Speilberg has expressed intense interest in making this book into a film, he said he always wanted to do a pirate movie but the right story hadn't come along before. I'll have to read this book as soon as it comes out. Thought I'd give a heads up.

  10. I stumbled across a wonderfully illustrated comic called Cursed Pirate Girl by Jeremy Bastian. I've read the first to issues of the six part series. They recall the fun and fantasy of childhood pirates with a taste of Alice in wonderland. Very cool check out more info at http://www.jeremybastian.com/ .

Not sure if anyone brought this up before but thought I would post.

  11. I'm sure the leather strap for baldrics can be many sizes, but I'm trying to get a general ballpark size in which to make my baldric buckles. So for all those out there who have them could you be so kind as to measure your baldric and post the width of the strap where the buckle is. It would help so much. I have a pile of designs ready to sculpt and I can't go ahead with them till I get this important info.

    Thank you - Gibbet.

  12. I have to agree, the wonderful thing about the first movie is how we were introduced to new characters as well as a great story. And it could stand on it's own very well without 2 and 3. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed II and III allot but a chance at whole new characters widens the pirate world for us. If they have all the same characters we would just see the same antics all the time and half the movie would be a rehash.

I would miss cotton, Cottons parrot, Pintel, Ragetti, and all the other characters if it meant we could be introduced to a whole new crew of colorful characters.

Even with how much I really really like Barbosa I would not mind if there was a whole new interesting and well written villian character.

I would not miss Will and Elizabeth though, their story has been told.

  13. I had a half moon midget parrot growing up. His name was buddy. He could wolf whistle, say pretty bird, and imitate a telephone since that is what he would sit next too, he'd say hello as it rang. Sat on my shoulder and nudged me on the check with his beak. Didn't like to be picked up though. Died of cancer at age 20.

I've always loved parrots though I've never had one since Buddy.

Beautiful birds I see posted on here.
