Am looking for a good-sized frameable letter of marque and/or a poster (calling for hands to sign onto a privateering schooner). Must be of the colonial American period ... late 18th century. Any ideas? Wartooth

Anyone know where I can get a parrot skeleton? (Short of committing crimes against avian-kind, that is.) I looked out on the great wide web and came up short on this. I'd prefer a replica. Anyone?

I am having a 13 foot pulling boat from North Bay Boat works here in Sausalito! I needed a smaller boat as my long boat requires a crew. She will be 13' LOA with a lapstreak hull. The lads who are building her use local woods. The vessel is half completed. I will post photos in a day or two. Cheers Ed McGrath

Hello, I'm trying to put together a pirate costume for Halloween and Ren Faires, but footwear is a bit of a sticking point for me. Can anyone suggest some places that sell square-toed boots for smaller than average pirates, preferably boots that don't cost a hook and a peg leg? My feet aren't super tiny for a woman, but in men's sizes they're only 5 1/2s. So far, all the websites selling affordable pirate boots that I have found only go down to around size 7 for their masculine styles. I would really appreciate it if some could point me in the proper direction.

I have a baldric from museum replicas - wouldn't really be my first choice if I were buying it today, but we work with what we have. Anyways, one of my biggest complaints about it is the buckle - shiny chrome and whatnot. I've considered just replacing it, but that would require breaking the rivets, and I've had trouble finding properly sized replacement rivets. Another option would be simply removing the chrome finish (not sure what kind of metal I'll find underneath.) I've done some small research online, and most methods seem to involve harsh chemicals (which wouldn't seem ideal since the buckle will still be attached to the leather) or buying special fiberglass pens.…

This is a re-post on request from another thread..... Ahoy and avast!..I may have the potential to 'swallow the anchor' and strike an accord with Pier 39 in Fisherman's Wharf. No need explaining how many dubloons pass by that location each and every day of the year.So.........Any of you 'serious' vendors with quantities of merchandise may want to touch base with me in this possible floating tourist trap amongst the hustle and bustle of heavy commercialism....Unless you have a steady quantity or supply, please don't respond, as I'm doing feasibility study on this, and frankly, the fewer the distractions, the mo' better to conceptualize...Thanks...

Yaarrgh!...It's been a long while, but we now have wonderful set 'o new heads'ls on the Royaliste, with a new main course squares'l on the way!..She handles quick, looks salty, and more importantly, will run in heavy 'trades for another few decades!....I found out from the sailmaker that he cut down my old one from an even older one, making it 46 years old as I speak!...that be a old sail, maytees!.........Great sea battles ahead now! Fast and fleet, she'll run with a bone in her teeth, indeed!.....And some interesting upcoming suprise raids on Pier 39, San Francisco, by an 'accord'

I'm looking for a good baldric, to hang my cutlass from. eBay's selections have been few and far between (and just not quite right)... what I'm after is something specifically pirate, but not too much so (don't really want all manner of skulls hanging off of it), and something reasonably close to what would have really been worn during the Golden Age of Pyratin'... thanks, mates!

Would there be a market here for small wooden belaying pins? By small, I mean 11 inches long overall, with a 3/4 inch diameter pin and between 1 and 1 1/4 inches in diameter. I dunno if this size could actually be used on a sailing vessel, but it would make a nice addition to a sailor's kit, aye? I do not have pictures just yet... I'll get some tommorrow.
