Some say the Age of Miracles has come to an end but I say differently. In this thread I hope to show, mayhaps with some tongue in cheek, how great patterns and a company that has really done their homework can turn anyone, who is willing, into a major contender in the Living History realm.

Our own scribe, OryginalCinn has released her third book. Here's the review from our friends at bilgemunky.com: “An unapologetic swashbuckling adventure brimming with all the trappings of pirate lore; sword-play, romance, voodoo, long-lost treasure… Cynthia Zeuli weaves a tale that’s historical and fanciful. Her characters are intriguing and faceted, her world grounded, yet supernatural. And her pirates are sinful, likeable, and daring—making this book a wonderfully guilty pleasure for the rogue in us all.” — Check it out at: http://www.archebooks.com/BookIDX/Indexes/...r/LT/LTDesc.htm The book comes in hardback ($20.99) and eBook ($3.99). Happy reading. I had an adv…

I'm putting the subscription orders together today, Monday and Tuesday. Subscriptions will go out Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (there's a lot of them). This will also include the mailing of wholesale orders and copies for the advertisers. They're also being sent to the distributors and should be on bookstore shelves in the next few weeks. It's a new magazine from a brand new publisher and bookstore/newsstand folks won't have a lot of copies because there's no "track record" as of yet. Anyone going to MDRF through the end of the season can see me for individual copies. I can't sell them at the festival (I'm not a vendor), but we can work something out offsite. The…

Hi all, I'm looking for period navigation equipment but cannot afford antiques so am looking for a place that does decent but sensibly priced replicas, preferably in the UK. If anyone knows of websites/companies/traders that do any such stuff I'd be pretyy well grateful.

Established in 1682 on the E end of LongIsland, NY is Greenport Centuries ago tall ships plied these same waters, carrying cargo to the early settlers. Greenport's deep water harbor invited seafaring commerce of all kinds: rum and molasses from the Caribbean, building materials and essential goods from New England. Greenport's maritime reputation thrived in the 1790s I love living on an island (I'm launching my site in a day or so with info on Long Island's rich maritime and Pirate history..meanwhile there is a 120 yr old shop there called Prestons on a wharf where the Lady Stirling and the Mary E sail. Here are some items I can't wait t get ........One ........Two …

Ahoy Good Folk of the Pub! Here are my Solid sterling silver skull and cross bones earrings. These Classics are suspended from twist patterned sterling wire and jump rings to complete the nautical theme. These are not hollow stamped pieces. They are fully sculpted 3-D skulls and bones and are truly worthy of any proper Wench or Pirate. They are created using the lost wax casting method, and with old world craftsmanship. These pieces are not mass produced in China, they are created by me, right here in the USA. Each is approximately 5/8ths inches tall, and wide, and each weighs approximately 6 grams. I have two pair in stock, but I can make more upon reque…

Hello to all! I have just released a new historically accurate pirate board game called SeaRovers™, The Exciting Game of Real Pirates and Buccaneers. In this game filled with combat, greed and strategy, you’re in command of history's most notorious cutthroats as they sail the Spanish Main in search of fame and fortune. By completing historical attacks, plundering other players, and claiming the most booty, you can become the greatest Sea Rover of them all! You can see the game at http://www.HistoryInActionGame.com. As for the history, you can view the historical content of the game here (great for pirate reference): http://www.HistoryInActionGame.com/main/ed...on/pirat…

While walking through Revel Grove today Brambleberry called me aside and showed me a treasure. He pulled out the first issue of Pirates Magazine and all I can tell you is that it looks good. This is of the same professional quality as Faerie Magazine. You can find the first issue at Borders and Barnes & Noble, if you want to wait and take your chances it will also be for sale at the festival from the booksellers booth. There are some really good articles and even one by Jean-Michel Cousteau, you won't have any trouble finding it on the rack either because it has Captain Jack Sparrow plastered on it. You can find out more at piratesmagazine.com.

For those looking for simple shoes. I just recieved my reship of shoes. I originally ordered both a pair of the Concord and Franklin from Fugawee. Though both were a bit too big(Figured they'd run small) while in fact they run as normal sizes. They are great to work with and devivery time was almost nonexistant. Now I can't decide which ones I like better. Give em a looksee! Rats

For those of you interested in owning you own pirate ship, I have also embarked on a new "ship" building business. Just so you know, I'm not tryin to take away from any one else here that is doin the same. Just so were square. Ulyscustomplunder.itgo.com The site has some pop ups, so be ware. I'm plannin to pay em to stop them nasty little things in the very near future. The cannon ye see thar is just a spud gun mounted on a carriage. It does NOT use black powder, jest so ye don't get yer pretty underthings in a twist. She does make a thunderous CRACK! I also makes the air cannon version where you simply add air and a touch of flour down the barrel. This version be fe…
