Greetings all! I am working on a script for an orchestra event we'll be guest soloists at (yes, now you have heard everything, pirates as guest soloists). The script could use a few Shel Silverstein poems about pirates. I think they're in Where The Sidewalk Ends. I found The Pirate, posted elsewhere on the site. Can anybody copy and paste any of the others into here? Thank ye kindly! -- Hurricane

All, Just bought the DVD "The Musketeer" staring Cathrine Deneyve, Justin Chambers, Tim Roth and Mena Suvari. The movie has some absolutely fabulous sword fight sequences. OK, not exactly pirate but, the fight sequence with the ladders and barrels are TERRIFIC.

FYI.......... Had received a communication from Rob Temple of the Schooner Windfall at Ocracoke. He be going down to Beaufort today to be interviewed, along w/ Blackbeard actor Ben Cherry & David Moore of the NC Maritime Museum/QAR project, by the History Channel. They are currently producing "Real Pyrates of the Caribbean". Shall relay more as it comes available. Also, History Channel's Deep Sea Detectives were filming the QAR site this July for a future show. David Moore enviously said that they had 30' of visibility at the wreck site. Best regards

Anyone ever spent any time in a pirate themed bar? I don't mean a place called the Salty Dawg with a ships wheel behind the bar and fruity drink called "The Ship Wreck". I mean a place that looks period (or close to it).

The Real Pirates of the Caribbean. Airs on Friday, December 16 at 4:00am ET There may not have been ghost ships laden with cursed sailors, but the Caribbean was indeed once full of Pirates. In this exciting hour we bring you four stories of real pirates that once wreaked havoc on the Caribbean and beyond. We'll introduce Captain Kidd who plundered his way to the end of a noose and Black Beard, quite possibly the most famous pirate of all time. We'll look at Anne Bonny and Mary Read, two female pirates who became friends and shipmates, and we'll also highlight Sir Henry Morgan, one of the few pirates actually to have been knighted. Go go underwater to discover the remain…

An article from Rye and Battle Today online: Glad to be a pirate of the Caribbean But film actor Jonathan Linsley is happy to be back in Bexhill ... for a decent cup of tea BEXHILL may have been cold and overcast for much of the week. He has been filming the sequels to Pirates Of The Caribbean, starring Johnny Depp (as Jack Sparrow), Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly and Geoffrey Rush. Jonathan is playing a character called Ogilvy, one of a band of ghostly pirates, and has been working extensively on ship scenes, lashed by wind and rain. "I am delighted to be back …

I'd heard from a friend who went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (twice) last week that there was a crew of pirates stationed around the PoTC attraction singing songs and rabble rousing with guests. I was wondering if any of them were posters from this site? **If this is in the wrong forum, many apologies. Please feel free to move if needed.

I've consistenly seen "unconfirmed" rumors that Nick Cassavetes (John Cassavetes' son) will be adapting and directing an film of Richard Zacks' Captain Kidd novel, The Pirate Hunter. Has anyone else seen any conclusive word on this project? I really enjoyed the book, and I think a film, in the right hands, could be one to look out for. I also remember Cassavetes' name in connection with a film about Blackbeard, in particular Maynard's hunting & eventual defeat of Teach. If anyone has any information on either of these projects, I'd love to hear it.

I realize there's a topic in this forum that lists all of the pirate movies ever made. But can anyone set my compass toward the really good ones? (Understanding, of course, that, like me, most of ye would rather see a bad pirate movie than no pirate movie. ) Here's the tidy few favorites that I have in my own personal collection (not that all of these are necessarily "good", but I like 'em). But what others do y'all feel are some of the best of the rest? The Black Pirate The Black Swan Buccaneer, The (1958) Captain Blood The Crimson Pirate Cutthroat Island [W] Finding Neverland Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (OK, not a pirate moive per se, but …

I don't think anyone's caught this one yet - if so, I apologize. Was browsing my local Disney store the other day when I spotted this: It's a nearly 9 inch tall, highly stylized Captain Hook action figure. I mean, look at that cutlass! LOOK AT THAT HAT!!! They retail for $10, but were on sale for $5! I somehow figured the rest of you might be interested

When I lived in England, they had this show on the radio (outstanding Radio 4 which I LOVE!) where they would have a celebrity/famous person on for an interview but the theme was: If you were on a desert Island, what pieces of music would you take with you (assuming the means to play it) and One book (they give you a Complete Works of Shakespeare and the Bible so you can't choose them) and One guilty pleasure (some choose chocolate, some an intsrument, toothbrush, some a bag of pot etc) I will simplify it to what would be your 5 CDs? Book? Pleasure?
